So at the end of the 12 month contract, you would have paid an average of $99.95/month for the 250 plan.

Not sure if I'd call this a deal - 12 month lock in contract means you'll be paying high rates for 5 months minimum. E.g. the 100 plan works out as $72.45/month over 12 months.

You can get a better rate than this, with no lock-in contract, from numerous tried and tested providers.

Plan 1st 6 months after free month Effective $/mth
      25 $49.95 $54.12
      50 $59.95 $63.29
      100 $69.95 $72.45
      250 $99.95 $99.95
      1000 $129.95 $127.45
    • Any suggestions on other providers who offer better rates? I am looking to move to a higher plan from 50/20.

With other providers, contracts are usually to lock in a discounted price for 12mth, not lock in the customer!

how about an update on when the transition from velocity will be un-paused?

As someone that used to work for a subsidiary of Uniti group and knows how HORRIBLE they are, it brings me SO much joy to watch all of their posts (Uniti, Opticomm, FuzeNet, et al.) get absolutely dragged in the comment section every time they post.
Even better because their "deals" are always the furthest thing from it.

Terrible deal to be locked in for 12 months when the discounted price is only for 6 months lol

When I first joined uniti back in 2020, their service was actually really good. I had limited options cos my apartment is with LBNCo. Something happened around June 2021 and everything just started going downhill. Numerous 'planned' outages not communicated to customers (They already have my mobile phone number, but they said I cannot be added to the outage notifications because they do not have a group for ACT users), constant drop outs and random ping spikes.

It is now sorta back to normal. I get good download speed ~88-98mbps but upload has massively tanked to 5mbps. I have raised several request with them and they keep saying it is something on my end and even tho I am using their provided modem/router, I will need to pay for a new one.

I took their Black Friday deal which promised discount (like above) and also a sonos. It’s 3 months nothing. When you reach theirs support, no response. Disappointed!

Also note, they will only accept your request for cancellation after the the 12 month period is finished. So you would have to pay for the 13 month before you can actually request a cancellation. ACCC needs to investigate this group (Uniti). Horrible experience with them in past.

  • Lolol. How not to do a deal. I got excited reading the title since I'm with Aussie broadband opticomm 1000 plan. But the 12 month contract is a joke.
Rep, I suggest you look at other providers and look at what constitutes an actual deal.

  • joke of a deal
