      ripped off…

  • +1

    Paid $3.76 on 28 degrees.

  • @Clear we need more deals for impulse buy…especially one with $3 off $30 :P

    • I think if all these little things are added to the cart you'll reach $30 to get the $3 off ;)

      • I am reaching around $45 and running out of idea :P

wanted to stack with JAN6 but it does not apply to some of the items..

        • +1

You can try loved2 or loved5 for $2 or $5 off.

          • @Clear: tried those and neither work… :(

  • Are the sellers in AliExpress always asking the buyers to return faulty the products back to China?

  • Anywhere to get discounted gc for aliexpress? Cheers

  • cool i got one for US $2.62
i wonder if this will be better than the one i have now which randomly stops working and then 10 seconds later works again and then stops and works….

  • My current charger has a battery volt display on it but doesn't have USB C.

Even though I have no need for the display, I feel like I'd be missing something by upgrading to this one.

If only it was a USB C to C cable, that might convince me.

I do also wonder what these do not have in them to make them so small.
The ones from the bigger brands are much larger
    For example Samsung https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-40w-dual-port-usb…
    and Belkin https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/belkin-boostup-charge-dua…

    • Isnt the voltage display useful to see if you are about to deplete your car battery to the point that the car wont even start

      • It would be if you were watching the display.

But my car will turn the accessories off automatically if the battery is going flat.

      • And checking the overall voltage on the car, if you've noticed the voltage is dropping when your driving then something is up with the charging system. Actually saved me from a breakdown once I was at the lights and noticed that my alternator was slowly dying

    • Get a cigarette lighter adaptor with voltage meter.

  • $3.89 for me. Cheers OP!

  • Thanks OP! Got a blue one for USD2.62 or AUD3.76.

LOL, this store is 0fficial not Official.

    • That gives me Fear of Anxiety

Should be bundled with replacement car fuses.

    • Is it really a problem with this one?

      • Never heard of the brand. That doesn't fill me with confidence.

It is also a $4 delivered, 30w car charger, so you know corners have been cut to get to this price point.

Yes it's what we call a "sale" and a "loss leader". Even if it wasn't a QC/PD capable IC chip only costs a few cents in bulk, as does the USB/USB-C ports and basically everything else.

Slap a Belkin logo on it and you'll make a killing selling it for 20x more.

          • -3

@Clear: It is still only $8.80 full price, but no one is going to pay that.

Belkin sells higher quality products and no doubt operates with much larger margins. If they sold stuff like this their brand would have no value.

          • +2

@Clear: That's a very simplistic view. It is true that Belkin has higher margins, but it is also silly to assume that all electronic devices that look similar from the outside are made equal. See this teardown as an example.

            • @bio: I wasn't implying that. I used to work for the first QC2 charger manufacturer so I'm well aware of the inner working differences 😜

                I wasn't implying that.

Apologies, then. But you certainly sounded like you were:

                • +1

@bio: The cost to manufacture versus the retail price is a big difference. These brands on AliExpress are not selling for their RRP.

These small chargers don't have replaceable fuses in them as there's no room. That means your car fuse will blow instead of the non existent fuse in the charger.

    • +4

Now that you've mentioned this, I am scared to plug this into my car. Not going to risk expensive repairs for a $4 charger.

      • my car still has the actual lighter coil that heats up, not sure if it's still the same in newer models but I'm guessing my car is safer since it's not connected to the main power supply of the car if it shorts right?

        • +2

this hurt to read - what power supply do you think it'd be connected to instead?

        • What?

        • New or old, there's only one electrical system in a car and you can bet it feeds from that. No fuse means if something goes wrong it will only take out the fuse for the car.. in most cases this isn't going to be a big deal as manufacturers size it appropriately with wiring gauge and fuses are dirt cheap to replace - just a pain. Note though that some manufacturers would piggy back other circuits off of this fuse which may cause more alarming symptoms, for example my old Pajero had the transmission and transfer case run off the reverse light fuse.. what a crazy drive home that was when it blew.. 3rd gear in 4 Low.

My biggest worry would be the other end where if something goes wrong. Sure a $0.30 fuse is cheap but imagine the potential thousands of damage if it sent a dangerous voltage / current out and ended the life of the phone.

    • +1

Why, it's 50w, most car cigarette lighter circuits are 15A, so could run 3 of these at same time without any issues?

      • +2

How many amps will it draw when it fails / shorts?

        • All of it.

        • If it fails, probably none, if it shorts, then the same as any Belkin etc would if it shorted as well.

          • +1

            @tryagain:

if it shorts, then the same as any Belkin etc would if it shorted as well.

That's not correct because the Belkin etc would have a fuse in it.

The one in this deal doesn't so it will draw as many amps as it can until the cars fuse blew.

  • Anyone know if I could use this for a 12v pump? I have a 12v 100w solar panel connected to a car cigarette socket and was hoping I could plug the pump into the USB-A Output of this Toocki car charger.

The pump is similar to this one- www.amazon.com.au/POPETPOP-Brushless-Submersible-Aquarium-Ci…

    • USB A is 5v
Does your pump support quick charge or PD to negotiate a higher voltage?

Why don't you run your 12v plump directly from your 12v panel?

      • I was worried that the voltage would get too high if I connected it directly to the solar panel (the solar panel gets over 20v open circuit voltage in direct sunlight).

The pump does not support quick charge and PD so I guess the USB A output wouldn't work at 12v?

        • +1

How about using something like this
          https://www.amazon.com.au/Voltage-Stabilizer-Protector-Regul…

USB will only be useful if your pump will run on 5v

        • +1

Yeah you need a solar charge controller between the panel and the 12v pump if you want to do that. Otherwise, you'll need to do some custom wiring. The one you linked has a female cig socket as the power input, can cut that off and solder on a male cig adaptor (or find a male to male cable) and plug that straight into your car's cig socket which is 12v (ideally with a fuse in between)

    • +1

Depends on the current draw, interestingly it says 6kw.. 6000w / 12v = 500amps .. I highly doubt this claim is even close to accurate. A similar pump of theirs is lister at 12v 0.5a so you might be on a winner here.

If the actual current draw isn't too extreme (recommend testing first under load), I've seen these appear a lot lately where you can tell the charger to output a set voltage and it'll allow you to convert that to a simple plus / minus output.

Note that this charger will only output around 1.7a (20w) so best not to exceed that or bad things will happen.

  • Est delivery march 21

You will get it much quicker

  • +2

    Don’t need it… bought it

  • Nice find, thanks

  • Safe to use?

    • +2

      Yep no reason it's not.

  • Spelling "0fficial" with a zero makes it seem the opposite of official lol. Good price though!

    $3.84 on 28 degrees just now :(

    • Exchange rate went up 5 cents, bummer.
