Dewalt Powerstack Hammer Dril Kit $50 @ Bunnings via Powerpass App

600

Hi, this is a Low stock deal but too good not to post for those who happen to have stock available near them. I stumbled over it on the Bunnings powerpass app, those with powerpass can find it by searching for 0358689. Comes up as $50 for the kit which is usually in the $250 range.

Stock search here:

No stock available near me but hopefully someone on here can benefit from this one. Good luck!

Showing $126.75 in PowerPass for me (Vic)

    • i saw that too but once changed to a store with stock it showed the right price

So tempting but not sure its worth a 20min drive for a maybe in stock

    • Even at that price it's cheap

    • +1

It depends on the store. Bunnings frequently discount these single batch "promo" items once the store became limited. It seems the items has a range of stepped prices and each store is free to discount according to their own requirements.

I bought 5 sets back in Oct with a price protection credit card expecting the price to drop soon and here it comes.

      • Which card still has prices protection ¡!!!!!

  • Coming up as $70 Springvale Vic

    • Staff said out of stock at Springvale already

  • +1

Good deal but I already have Ozito, Ryobi and Aldi kits. I couldn't stand a 4th. Or does that just give me options :-) I don't yet have a hammer drill in my box of tools

    • +2

Says hammer drill but isn't a real hammer drill. If you're after something for drilling into bricks I'd be looking for a sds. Even the ozito pxc sds will blow this away on masonry. It will do ok for the occasional handy man but it's not a real hammer drill

      • +5

True. But still, it's $50 for a DeWalt cordless drill.

        • +1

I changed both my drill and driver to the Powerstack combo and never looked back. Love the light weight and small form without a massive loss in power.

The driver is a small step down in power from the gen 3 Milwaukee but I'd take that any day for the gains in comfort and usability.

        • With batteries. I don’t especially need the drill. But as an entry point into Dewalt batteries I’m pretty tempted.

Fortunately for my impulse control, I don’t have power pass and CBF driving anywhere with stock

      • Thanks for that. Don't do a lot of masonary but when I do I need a proper hammer drill.

i have makita, dewalt, bosch, ozito, aldi …. i nolonger looose sleep about what to buy when something is on special …… no ryobi though.

      • Isn't that a complete pain when it comes to battery usage though, having only one battery per tool?

At least with one ecosystem you can switch batteries between multiple tools.

        • Could be but I've glot Aldi for garden, Ryobi for drills, multitool etc. Multiple tools for each ecosystem. Ozito I have for the odd tools that the others don't have, paint sprayer, surface cleaner but I might be buying more of them because Ryobi skins are getting a bit pricey these days for their quality

        • I've got DeWalt, Makita & Milwaukee tools, but only Dewalt batteries. I just use a battery adapter that allows me to use my Dewalt batteries with my Makita / Milwaukee tools.

      • The whole magic of battery powered tools is cross compatibility of batteries.

I don’t give a monkeys about brand (except as an expectation of price and quality) for corded tools - but the battery infrastructure to support cordless has to be a huge part of the decision making for if something is a “bargain” and the logistics of maintaining yet another battery platform has to be part of that calculation.

        • Agreed, went balls deep in the ozito power exchange range myself and pretty happy with them. Skins are dirt cheap once you've got the batteries and they frequently go on sale. Picked up another couple of 4ah over christmas from a sale posted here.

I will say my makita impact driver had more balls than the ozito equivalent when it came to driving roofing screws through sheets + into steel however the ozito wasn't far behind. The makita's batteries are long since dead though.

I got 5 years of usage out of my ozito impact driver and have now upgraded to the brushless one. It still works but the switch for reverse/forwards is iffy so you need to smack it a few times.

Good value stuff. Now I just need a deal on a power xchange circular saw and jigsaw and I'm set.

          • @knk: I’m a hobbyist /DIY’er and the ozito stuff works great for me. I have a couple of Hikoki things - I got a table saw and the redemption offer made the hikoki trim router a good deal.

I’ve had access to a family member’s Milwaukee stuff in the past which was really nice. But they were a tradie and I just don’t get enough benefit for the price jump.

Dewalt has some pretty appealing offers from time to time, and there’s a few dewalt tools I’d quite like… but investing in another battery platform is expensive and seems like a hassle. It’ll have to be a really good deal o convince me to pursue another battery platform. And probably be a really good deal for something that Ozito just doesn’t offer, or where I need something out of the scope of Ozito’s product range. And since I already have Hikoki batteries - it’ll have to be a better deal than Hikoki can offer by enough to be worth the hassle of swapping batteries. I’d love to get a deal that good - but I’m not expecting it.

    $126.75 for rouse hill

  • Is it app only? Is there a reason the product/code wouldn't come up on their web powerpass interface?

    • +2

No idea. Works on the app. I believe it's in store only. It will be clearance that's why it was removed from the normal Bunnings site.

I find clearance items usually only show up on the app

  • +1

Do you actually need power pass ? To purchase

    • +2

Probably not but price may or may not be different. Just not available to search on the normal site.

  • Doncaster $126

    Smithfield shows $126

    • also rang them, they dont have it in stock.

  • Likely no stock :(

  • Anyone know why the PP app won’t let me do a click and collect?

    • Can't click and collect on powerpass. It's for in store purchasing

    • Found the same. It’s designed for only checking out once you’re at the store.

  • +2

For those that state even $126 is tempting etc then have a look at this deal:-

    https://sydneytools.com.au/product/dewalt-dck303p1axe-18v-50…

It's remarkable value for money for a set of premium brand tools. I also find that DeWalt batteries seem to have a very long life, my originals dating back to 2014 still work well. Can't say the same about Ryobi. I'm now using a DeWalt to Ryobi battery adaptor for some legacy Ryobi garden tools.

    • +3

      That's the base model

    • There's so many variables that contribute to battery life. I have my Ryobi batteries from 2014 that are still OK. I try to take care of them, don't let them go completely flat, don't use them hot straight out of the charger etc.

  • Don’t call Doncaster for Stock, they don’t have any

  • Springvale shows $70

  • Neville from Waurn Ponds said they’d had about 10 calls and were now out of stock

    • Lol poor buggers

  • Shows $85 for me

  • Shows $85 for me in Canberra

  • Visited Springvale VIC store and guy said no stock. System shows ‘quit’ code. Likely old data

  • +1

    showing $126 for me now

  • Smithfield comes up full price, no chance of discount!

    • Show them the powerpass of other stores in store and get them to match

      • search site claims to cost $85.01 but hey 50 is 50 !

  • +1

Nil stock at Springvale despite showing x2.
Bunnings confirmed nil stock in Victoria.
Great find OP for those that picked one up.

  • Low stock locations in VIC don’t reflect $50
    Footscray VIC $126
    Springvale VIC $70
    Morrabbin VIC $126
… if there is even any stock. Most show 1 which is sometimes shrinkage or display / store use.
