Surely people aren't actually buying this game…?

    • +6

Seems fine to me, as a casual gamer that really only plays CSGO.

    • +10

Games In a good state it's getting more players daily, constant updates, reverting to the old class system etc

      • +3

The only way for them to have gone is up…

      • This is great to hear

  • -3

    Lol

  • +3

Considering buying a console given the disparity on PC prices for games like COD and BF

    • +7

      Yeah
Quick search on OzBargain shows $5

      Also Game Pass

  • +3

Not the cheapest its been, but it's a fun game with a local player base. I prefer it to COD:MW2.

  • +7

It is pretty good now. Bugs and performance issues are better and decent amount of players

  • How many servers are populated in oce? Is it worth getting?

    • +3

From what everyone is saying V and 1 have more people playing

    • +2

The two main modes Conquest (point control) and Breakthough (attack/defend) are where the games are at. The other modes aren't too popular. There's quite a few Aussie streamers on twitch if you wanted to have a look.

    • Not really worth getting in my opinion, the servers feel less populated than the BFV servers.
Most of regular matchmaking for conquest is filled with bots (Yes, actual bots). You can get like 20 kills before your mag is empty and die.

There’s like 1-2 private servers on a regular day. 3-4 on the weekends.

  • +4

omg the recent 3 week event was amazing, breakthough is just chaose with 64 / 128 player maps and plenty of vehicle combat

    • Dang! I'll have to play it again!

  • +2

    Free on GamePass

  • +6

PS4 version costs only $5, why the hell PC version is 6 times more expensive!?

    • Agreed.
This game should be begging us to play on all platforms, not giving us reasons to doubt our purchase…

    • -5

who the fk buys ps4 version of this game expecting the same experience?

also are yoh really comparing prices to a last gen console? why leave out ps5?

  • i wonder why they removed this on amazon? ppl abusing returns?

  • +1

Also available on GamePass if anyone wants to try for free.

  • I had had it since a few months back when it was down to 9 bucks on Amazon for PC, was an absolute PoS but it is quite good now after multiple patches (feels like a new clean release now, which is what it should have been on release), have switched back to it from MW2 / WZN.

They have added infantry only modes too which means you get railed way less than the ordinary modes where people camp tanks / helis etc.

Damn, wish I had seen it for that price. Would have jumpped in for sure.
$30 is still too much of a risk to value proposition for me…

      • +1

Agreed, heard that they are going back to original BF formula, if that happened yet I'm not sure but would of grabbed it for less then $10 to wait and see what they come up with.

  • -1

hehe it was free recently (for PS4 :P) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/752248

    • +5

Your version of "free" looks very different to mine…
Like saying you got a free shed when you bought a house to get it.

      • ah! yeah!

      • Perfect analogy…

  • I tried this game in November last year, and I wouldn't pay $5 for it. If you enjoy running 20 minutes, or use vehicles a lot, then this is for you.

  • I'd say it is worth $30 right now. granted the first year was crap and it was barely worth the $9 I spent last year from Amazon, but most maps have been updated by now, performance is very good and we had some really good fun already "battlefield moments". servers are populated as well, never have to wait more than 30sec. and so far we haven't met many if any cheaters in contrast to cod. always play what's unpopular to avoid them…hot tip 😅.

I would definitely buy it at that price.

  • huh? Got digital code from BigW for $9 months back.

    • for pc?

      • yep. apologies cant find post. around 9/22 i think.

  • +1

Paid $9 from amazon like a year ago and actually put in probably 50 hours which was more than i was expecting and i log in maybe once a week and play. Its still not a great battlefield game but every patch keeps pushing it in the right direction which is promising.

  • +1

nice, i will play for 2 hours and refund if it's as bad as people say

    • +1

already refunded, too many bugs that make the game literally unplayable
last time i try a battlefield game

  • Paid $5 last year July. Seems weird now that they've fixed a few things and all of a sudden the price has gawn up

  • I tried playing the beta in 4k with a 2080ti… it was a horrible experience. I'm guessing its matured a bit now?

  • Can get EA Play that includes this game and many more for $39.99 a year or $6.99 a month.

    • You don’t get to keep the game like here though 🙂.

  • Be warned, this game was absolute garbage on release. I refunded it thankfully.

    • "on release".

      • +1

Yes, which would have massively hurt the player count. 4000 players on steam at the moment… Much better titles out there. People shouldn't be giving their money to AAA titles who release such garbage, when they have such large teams and big budgets. Its just setting an incredibly poor standard for gaming these days.

    • +1

It is quite playable now and operates well.

  • I gave this another go through EA Play, since there were some other titles worth trying at the same time.

It has certainly improved, but it didn't feel like a Battlefield game. Maybe I've been playing too much Hell Let Loose, which is much slower, but this felt more like Call of Duty or Titanfall in movement and gunplay. I also didn't get any sense of team-play, where my squad mates were mostly just living spawn-points - after spawning there was no coordination or use of complimentary kits.

I'll give it a bit more time, but so far I wouldn't say it's worth the $30 (to me). The things I dislike might be positives to the next person.
