  • I've got one of these as my only/primary cpap machine. Works absolutely great, nicely portable, and the app is fairly accurate with its sleep insights.

However, there are some drawbacks; ongoing cost of humidification inserts, which works out to about $10/month, as well as the fact that without a third party adapter you have to use a proprietary hose and mask to accommodate the passive humidifier system. If you can live with that, this is a great machine, particularly for travelling.

I've trialed an airsense 9 and have purchased the airmini (I'm a FIFO worker) and I've found that the passive humidification creates a lot of noise. The airsense 9 was completely quiet but the airmini creates a gush of air everytime I inhale and it sounds like Darth Vader. I'm usually not too bothered by noise but this has been too much, so I have been looking into some third party adapters to eliminate the passive humidification or try alternative masks and hoses

Edit: Sorry, didn't mean to reply to the comment above

Any idea of when S11 will become available in AU? Thx

  • Does EnableNSW provide this machine?

Buying from Resmed is not a deal - pretty much any ability to google will save $2-300.

    Here's an example https://www.mycpap.com.au/resmed-airmini-p10-starter-kit/ only $1260!

Maybe you get the $50 on any purchase?

Was about to post the same, but I think the deal here is the $50 digital Gift card, and you don't have to buy directly from ResMed, you can buy anywhere from any Authorised Dealer. But I agree with you, if you can buy it cheaper from non-authorized dealer without the Gift card, then that's probably a better deal.

I bought Airsense 10 from Resmed and they pricematched the best price as they are the supplier to the other reatailers. Then applied for Energy Life support rebate which comes off your Electricity bills and then claimed $1000 back from my Health insurance. Can claim a new one every 3 years.

That's good to know that they price match other retailers.

        • What health insurance do you have?

Damn noisy machine. As a partner of a wearer I hate it.
76 decibels at 1.5 metres away from it.
Not a problem on a noisy plane.
Last 2 machines not so noisy .
This machine is noisier than the machine in the early 1990s.
    The exhalation port whines loudly.
May be perfect for someone that lives alone with hearing loss.
On the plus side it's tiny.
Their model 11 machine released overseas in august 2021, come on resmed release it here .
Keep telling husband to buy another company's machine but he believes you will "soon" look after your home country's customers.

    • It might be due to how small the machine is, the smaller the machine the faster/louder the fan has to run in order to deliver the volume of air.

      • I believe the airsense 9 or 10 use the same pump as the airmini. The difference is the insulation

    • I trialled both the airsense 10 and the F&P, and tolerated the F&P much better.

You can get it from NSW CPAP with the starter kit for $1220 and you get the $50 Gift Card as well.

Have been on an airsense 10 for 3 years now and works great. But agree with comments above dont buy from resmed fkn rip.

Also does anyone reckon its bullshit that this is not considered essential medical equipment so you cant claim anything back from medicare? I literally stopped breathing for minutes during my sleep study and diagnosed with severe sleep apnea but guess that's not considered severe enough. Unless this has changed?

    • I agree it's super shit. Humans need sleep to operate.. surely there's a costs benefit to society for the government to fund them.
