  • Was the same price only a few days ago without the need for lightning deal. The true discount is really only about $5 since the average price is $37~

Darn - still, looks like a nice unit for tidying up all the power adaptors and wires

      • Does look aesthetically pleasing, you are right

        • With everything plugged in and cords flowing down it's going to look like something out of Alien

  • 2 AC Outlets

    Sure it's not 12?

What can I add … Is good.

Has powered my 850W gaming Desktop server 24/7/365.

4 outlets per stacked layer, making the tower of 3 levels - one switch to each of these [3] sections. There is also a main switch. The pictured fancy lightning protection switch is a small button with blue led above it on mine - upgraded since I bought it (2 years ago)?

I had populated all 12 outlets, most with external HDD power adaptors, which bulky bricks didn't physically interfere with one another with such a 360 degrees design as this.

Have since consolidated said drives into a 10 bay 300W enclosure - soon to be two enclosures as there is currently a hot deal on them; too lazy to post but low quantity anyway, 2 left, act fast, take $156.19 off with code BTSR22 (or BTSR20 for non-Plus members): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/275169022121

      What's a gaming desktop server?

This one for a few dollars more has one less ac outlet and may not look as nice, but each level has a power switch and there's also a light on top:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/CTFIVING-International-Protector-C…

I have one and have old stereo components connected to one level that I don’t want power to all the time, and with it being behind an entertainment unit, I find the light handy at times.

  • I don’t know about electrical stuff so this may be a dumb question, but if things were plugged into all 12 plugs and the usb sockets, wouldn’t that draw too much power and overload the wall socket that this is plugged into, and maybe trip the circuit breaker?

    • +3

Standard outlets can handle anywhere from 1,320W to 5,150W (110V 15A to 220V 30A), if it goes over, then yeah it does overload the wall socket which then trip the circuit

    • +2

In Australia a standard wall socket can supply 10 amps at 240V = 2400 watts.
Most phone and laptop chargers etc draw <100 watts, so no problems.

Be careful with heating devices, like a heater, toaster, kettle etc - they often take 2400 watts by themselves, so easy to overload. So best not to plug them into a multisocket powerboard.

is the SAA certified worth it?

[ Do not buy this. If you are lucky it will simply break. If you are unlucky…. just read the reviews. This device does not have the SAA compliance for Australia so you should not buy it for Australia. ]

    • Insurance might not cover fire damage if you're using non-compliant power boards.

  • No USB-C PD, no deal

  • looks at 12 outlets….looks at wall outlet with 10A limit……hey wait a minute

  • A bargain it may be, but you can't put a price on "absolufe safety using"

  • +2

No. The reviews are awful including catching fire. The answer to the first question says there is no overload protection.

There is no way this has "lightning protection."

  • I share the concerns of the negative comments, but I can only go on what is stated on the listing:

    1. It is certificated by CE, LVD, RoHS,SAA, Certification. Built-in surge protection, short circuit protection, overload protection, over temperature protection, over current protection, fire-retardant materials.

    2. With surge protection,Maximum instantaneous absorbed energy: 3000J

The recent reviews I read before buying and posting also seemed pretty positive. Older reviews seem to describe a slightly different product (?older model).
