Dishonored is pretty sick as a free offering.

    • +3

Its actually the standalone DLC which is an offshoot of the Dishonored storyline (about the Outsider obviously).

Sweet, Death of the Outsider is the only Dishonored I don't own. Have been tempted to get it a few times when it's gone real cheap. But Pile of Shame etc.

    • Same. Plus I was pretty disappointed by dishonoured 2 and didn’t feel like to spend more money on the franchise

What didn't you like about D2? I thought they took everything from the first and made it better. Having said that I still prefer the first for the story (and that it can run on pretty much any PC from the last 10 years), but D2 is very close behind and still one of my fav titles.

        • For me at least, I just couldn't get into it, which sucks as the original Dishonoured is in my top 3

Mostly it was just a lack of atmosphere and intrigue, I never felt drawn into the stories or the characters. Even if I loved the level design and game play, they just never really made me care about the world

Each attempt to play it felt like a dud first date, when they're kind and on paper a great match, but the conversation is stilted and there just isn't enough chemistry for a second

And so it sits on my pile of shame, taking up valuable SSD space, but to reclaim is to admit defeat

        • I like D2 better with female protagonist…

I thought Dishonored 2 was pretty good especially the clockwork mansion and the time shift area.

Dishonored 1 had arguably the better atmosphere and story though.

        • +3

Man, that clockwork mansion and timeshift level are still some of my favourite levels in any game I've played.

          • @astevens: Have to agree, that part was like a new game within the game, mind blowing clever for the time

I bought Dishonored 2 and really disliked it, ended up returning it to steam

    • did you play the first one? or Bioshock series?

    • +1

I bought it years ago and only recently played it, thought it was one of the best games I've played in a long time. The first mission escaping the city is a bit weak, but once things get moving it just gets better and better. Probably the closest game to Thief 1 & 2 which it was inspired by.

  • Anyome played city of gangsters? Worth the time?

This is from a Steam review:

"There are some nice elements to this game and it has glimmers of hope. But it's a slog. An utter slog of a game. I like micro-management, but this is more just tedious running around management.

How much money do they need? Go to them to find out. Then go to your warehouse for cash. Then get caught by the police and lose your money. Then go earn some more money. Then take that. Take over a corner. Have a bad guy take your corner with no way to stop them. Repeat ad infinitum.

It's click heavy and labour intensive just to feel like you're standing still."

MyGov is more fun than this dialog basher.

i don't mind MyGov when it ends up in a tax refund.

      • This is easier to log into tho
