  • what's the going price for QFF points?

I think it's better value redeeming your hard earned QFF points for flights.

    • +3

It is, if you can get them, which is the big challenge.

Exactly. International Premium Awards (Business or First), if that is your usage case, are non existent through QFF from Australia to Europe or the US, even if your a Gold or Platinum. Qatar have essentially pulled their award space, except for a few days before departure from QFF due to a falling out.

Personally QFF points I value below 1c @ 0.8c a point and Velocity higher @ 1c as you actually have decent availability to Europe and US in Business through their program with Singapore, Etihad and Qatar. YMMV.

        • non existent through QFF from Australia to Europe or the US

It's much, much easier to redeem business and first class from Asia to Europe and the US. You just have to get to Asia in economy either with cash or points. It's far from ideal but that's the workaround I have used to great success lately.

          • @VantageXL: You are correct. It is easier via Asia if you can get there. However far from ideal is not what I'm looking for in a FF program. Flexibility with dates, yes but that is where I draw the line and why it pays to spread your FF earn among multiple programs which is why I have my return Business Class Europe trips booked for later this year with ease via Velocity and not requiring different Class segments or creative routing to get there. Again YMMV. If it works for you great and that is what matters.

      • Even domestic economy flights are better value, though.

It's cheaper to buy budget flights. And not spend more on business class flights

  • Thanks. Needed to use my points before I lost them.

    • Transfer them to a family member

Just earn 1 point a year and they don't expire.

Auto Rewards still has a better rate for WISH eGift Cards. Limitations on how much and how often you can redeem.

    • yes but they stopped sending mine before, was a hassle to sort it out

      • I just noticed the WISH eGift Card redemption price has gone up. It was once 51,750 pts for the $250 variant (54,470 pts now). Back then, when combined with a 30% off sale, it was almost the same as the Auto Rewards rate.

  • You cant use cash to buy these, you can only use points.
    Shame.

Unfortunately I don't see the value in this offer given the ratio for redemtion, points are better value with flights & hotel.
