  • they have this same deal $6 last year. pad thai dish is okay. their wine is terrible. but say yes for $5

    • We can have soft drinks instead according to the highlights :)

  • cheap asian grub.

  • Nice to me too, thanks for sharing.

  • Long time lurker, first time poster…

It doesn't say you can't get takeaway… does anyone know if you can?

    • would they pour the wine into a takeaway cup?

      • Prob not due to liquor laws.

    • No idea about takeaway, but I guess we can. Please confirm before going to ur lunch. U know, I'd rather not post before i really find a nice deal not posted. It's not that easy on ozbargain as ozbargainers are so fast and 'picky' :)

  • Crazeeeeeee

  • You should have posted the fine print too. Some of the conditions are well, a bit of a concern.

The requirement for booking and the max 30 per day put me off.

    • Must book by 31 October 2012 or bookings are not guaranteed.
So if we book before this, they will secure us a seat.

      • If you don't work in the city you could be in a situation where you can't get a booking on a day you want because the 30 per day have all been allocated. Some days are sure to be more popular, probably weekends.

On the other hand, it's better that they try to head off any issues with overpromising and underdelivering.

  • That's main concerns:

But … Must book by 31 October 2012 or bookings are not guaranteed
    - Max 30 Scoopons will be served per day

bought this last time, for $5 pad thai including can of drink. the drink is prob worth $1-1.5? so the dish is $3.5-4 which is really cheap. it tasted so so. I would go for that price again but wander if it is the same if you're paying full price, cos i wouldn't pay $10 for that. staff were really hopeless, 3 different staff came & ask us what we want told them 3 times pad thai chicken showing them our printouts and all of them don't know what we talking about….! surely if management decided to advertise in these deals they should let staff know what to do when customers turn up with them!? finally they gave us our pad thai but forgot our drink had to ask again….

  • Scoopon is very good with their customer service, if they refuse to give you a booking after 31/10 just get a refund from Scoopon. Scoopon holds your money until you use your voucher so restaurant loses out if they dont offer you a table. They probably put in those clauses in case you try to book on a busy day (Friday lunch eg) they have an excuse to reject you. I wouldn't be accepting any vouchers on a day that I knew my restaurant would be packed to the rafters.

I found in the past that they seem more lenient with the rules when ordering take away. (ie they might have already taken 30 scoopon bookings for dine in, but they might still let you use your scoopon for takeaway)

  • too many conditions…..

i thought i could have a cheap lunch today.

  • I can assure you that you will not be possible to make a booking on the same day or one or two days before. They will say "we are full for the next XX days" How on earth do I plan so much a head to make a booking. I call these stingy Thai deal. You end up forgwtting to claim your voucher.

I use to buy deal for a Thai Massage in oxford street. $29 was cheap but they always booked out (for voucher holders, not walk in). They ask me to book one months in advance. Stupid!!! Never brough again after I finished those two vouchers.

    • Book ahead, put it in your calendar - done :-)

  • Can I use this voucher for take away?
