        And if you let it lapse and then re-up they are available again if you claimed them when your subscription was active.

        But how do I claim a game on plus if I already have it through extra, that’s what I’d like to know. I could not figure out how to do it with Fallout 76.

          when you view it in the store on console there should be the "download" option for the ps plus extra subscription, and also a "purchase" option for the ps plus monthly game handout.

          i do think that it's a pretty messy integration between the different subscription options at times

            @[Deactivated]: Thanks for your suggestion. There probably should be, but there isn't such an option and I've had a good look around. But I had forgotten that what you see when you go in through the 'monthly games' icon is not necessarily what you see when you go and find it in the store, so it was worth a try.

            So because I played it previously as part of Extra, I cannot claim it as part of Plus. This means if I ever downgrade or if it is no longer part of Extra, I'll (probably) lose access to it even though I'm entitled to have it in perpetuity so long as Plus is active.

            This is not the first game when they have recycled an Extra game as a Plus game and probably won't be the last. Fortunately this hasn't been for anything I care that much about, but it is a pretty sucky experience. As you say, it's all pretty messy and not really well thought through.

      It's really great. Mafia II is the best in the series though, IMHO.
      Avoid spoilers as the story is a legit Mafia movie!

    Some great games, but how many times have they given us DLC? Seems weird. OlliOlli World seems like a pretty cool game that no one wanted, just like the LOTR Gollum game coming out.

      DLC is pretty unusual, but I guess Destiny 2 is free to play, so the DLC is the bit where they make their money. And PS+ is usually 3 games per month, so this DLC is kind of a bonus 4th game rather than instead of an actual full game, so fair enough I reckon.

      I don't play Destiny 2, but the Beyond Light DLC is listed on PS Store as $44.95, so I guess it must be fairly substantial? You'd hope so for that price, anyway…

    I didn't realise PlayStation also removes games from your PS Plus Monthly games from years ago.

    This occurred for Mafia 3. After the Mafia Trilogy was removed from the PS+ Extra/Premium service, I was no longer able to play or download Mafia 3.

      Sounds like an unforeseen glitch/error. The PlayStation store is notorious for licensing issues and what not. I've never had a monthly game go missing.

      you might need to restore licenses on your ps4/ps5, they should show up on your download list.
      some old games might not appear on search results because they have been delisted or there is a different version for PS+.

      Just checked the app and Mafia III is there for me. In fact, the definitive edition is in my library, the standard edition is marked as "purchased" and I have the option to buy the definitive edition. As someone else alluded to, the editions and licensing on the PS store is horrendous. I actually had to ring them up one time to remove a PS+ game so I could buy the GOTY edition on sale! Having the PS+ version locked the other edition from purchase.

        same since sony took mafia 3 away i cant even buy it :( at least i ordered a disc copy from ebay but sux for those without a 4k ultra bluray drive p.s. this happened before with some games on "deluxue" i try to buy it and cant because im on deluxue membership damn :(

      playable as long as your subscription is active.

          Neg was a bit unfair so I up voted you to cancel it.

          You have the month to redeem the game (add it to your library). Once added to your library it will remain there however you can only play the game with an active ps plus.

    Sony needs to sort out the PS Plus library user interface. Games that I download from PS Plus Extra gets lumped in with games I own, can’t tell which ones I own and which ones are ‘rented’ from PS Plus Extra

      do you have a ps5? if so, you can go to:
      game library -> your collection -> sort and filter -> source

      and from there you can differentiate between PlayStation Store and PlayStation Plus games

      Yeah when browsing on PS Plus games catalogues or store theres no way to tell. If you look at it through your games library it will have a PS + logo, if its only playable with a subscription. Either blank or a USB logo if you own it. (USB logo shows up if you have another storage drive fitted & its stored on it).

    Destiny 2 beyond light shows as 44.95 for me. All others are free.
