Bing Lee are selling them at $299.

    As are many small retailers.

    • Which $299 retailer has stock?

Does anyone know of a b&m retailer in Brisbane with stock? I've checked the usual suspects (OW, DSE, JB, HN, Computer Aliiance, Umart, Good Guys) but no one has it.

    • No retailers (are selling them for less than $300 (after shipping if no pick up is available) - except for the EB games preorder - but that is long sold out. Bing Lee are even selling them for $319.

Still this is a fairly standard price at the moment (and already over RRP) and so it does not qualify as a deal.

      • Nobody can buy one at the RRP of $299, because everyone has to add shipping to it.

Unless a good deal like the EB Games one comes along, of course.

  • The only difference I can see is they have it in stock.

    more then RRP.

    • +3

Being more expensive than phantom prices from stores with no stock is one thing.
Charging more than RRP is another.
      No bargain here.

      • +1

        agreed, no bargain here.

  • Does just having stock count as a bargain ?
In the true sense, no. Negged.

  • As above. Not a bargain

  • Why are people buying it off retailers when the google play store is selling it at $268 shipping included?

    • +1

Because they want the 16GB model.

    • +1

You're talking about the 8GB model - this one has 16GB

    • +2

What? 16GB is $299 at GooglePlay.

  • +1

Eb preorder price of 298 was a bargain this is not.

  • not a bargain

  • +7

Not really a bargain at the moment. $319 is the RRP from our supplier. That price is reflected through most, if not all, retailers right now.

    • yea QLD users can try UniqueMobiles…, and if you "share it" you get $5 off $319… lol
      http://www.uniquemobiles.com.au/mobile-tablets/google/google…

      • They don't offer pickup unfortunately. It's also a grey import.

        • +2

A grey import? Seriously? My official delivery from Google was shipped from expansys hk.

        • Yes, seriously. If you click on the uniquemobiles link above, next to "Stock", it says "Import Direct". When you click on the Import Direct link at the bottom, it says:

Unique Mobiles now provides some products acquired from internationally based distributors other than the manufacturer's locally licensed importer. These are referred to as "direct import" products or "grey market" products and will be shipped directly to you from overseas.

Direct import products do not have a manufacturer's warranty but come with a voluntary warranty provided by Unique Mobiles and the statutory protection of the Australian Consumer Law Act.

…it's not every day you'll see a rep agreeing that an item from their own store is not really a bargain. I +ve you for that.

But yeah, the $319 price is the RRP google announced for bricks and mortar stores, so this certainly isn't over RRP as others have suggested.

      • +4

I wanna see a rep neg their own deal, that would be gold.

This kind of post is pure fanboi territory, reminds me of the iphone4 release lol.

  • this isn't omgifoundthisnewproductisinstock.com.au

    • needs to be a site

  • Any one knows what's the shipping charge from google play? and is that Australia adaptor?

    • EB's next batch cost $318 w/ free shipping (SHIPPING CODE: NEXUS7 )

They aren't in until August 1st apparently though. First batch preorders are in now.

    • $19, yes.

      For anyone curious,
It's 5V, 2.0A, so an iphone/ipad charger will work fine too, with a microusb cable.

  • I think it's a fraud, went to Their website, shows in stock at their sunshine store, went their, won't sell it to me, told its online only, even I place an order online today, there's no way that I can get it, they'll send it from somewhere else

    • +4

Firstly: it 'their', no capitalisation, and 'there' for going to the store.
Secondly: use less commmas - it makes your sentence unintelligible. (Go on, you try reading that aloud)
Thirdly: what part of 'online exclusive' didn't you understand?

    • +1

I could go downstairs and take a photo of stock if you like?
We indeed have units and they are for online orders only.

  • This is the NORMAL price, no bargain.

Is there any way to purchase from the Google USA store directly at the US price?

    • Using a mail forwarding service, but that's about $20+ and you'll receive a us plug.

  • Standard price no bargain

  • Normal price
