    • interesting.. reviews on amazon are good. i'm still going to give it a try.

      • +3

Amazon reviews are worth the paper they are printed on.

        • -7

so are most internet reviews.. including OzB.

          • +4

@Sage222: I doubt many people are buying reviews on OzBargain

          • +1

@Sage222: don't waste your money unless you like buzzing sounds

        • +1

I got paid $50 to write a 5 star review.

      • +4

Mate, please do NOT buy this. I have the exact one in the photo. The USB Cable that was connected to it got so unbelievably hot it burnt me when I unplugged it and had to run my finger under cold water.

        Do NOT buy this.

      • @Sage222 Insurance risk….

Essentially because Amazon is junk, and gets abused:

and also stay away from pixel phones. Mine blew up the first day. battery busted, returned for a full refund and luckily didn't lose anything important.

        • +2

lol probably because you plugged it into your heymix charger

      • +2

Mods should ban Heymix posts. Someone could get electrocuted because of their dodgy products.

      • +2

Wow, why do the mods allow these to be posted sold here.

    • Good lord!

    • My charger has been working fine without any whining noise or fire. YMMV

  • 1 if the ports on mine failed after little use just 2 days past the 1yr warranty contacted seller was told bad luck it's outside warranty never again…

  • +1

Not that cheap given the various reviews on this charger failing from Amazon. I've been using SlimQ F100 as my GaN charger at home 24/7 and when I travel and it has been rock solid for the past 4 years of non-stop use.

    • where can you get them in AU?

      • They don't sell them at physical shops, just at their online store. I've purchased 3 times from them, no problems with each order. https://slimq.life/

friends don't let friends buy Heymix

    • -6

Friends dont let friends buy pixel phones either. Dont buy pixel phones. Mine blew up the first day. battery busted, returned for a full refund and luckily didn't lose anything important.

      • +3

i think this post is about heymix chargers, not pixel phones.

also, pixel phones and heymix chargers aren't in the same league

just look here for some of the ozbargain comments about experiences with heymix products

But the perfect present for your enemy

It blew up in the street though. luckily wasnt anywhere near my house.

This is Same with my google pixel phone. Mine blew up the first day. battery busted, returned for a full refund and luckily didn't lose anything important.

tell us more about your pixel phone experience on this heymix post, i don't think your message was communicated adequately here, here, here or here

      • -3

Lol. No more pixels. Pixels are bad. $500 for a pixel 6a with a 60Hz choppy display. No wonder no one is buying it.

  • yeesh may have to replace my heymix chargers with something better. Touch wood so far but I've got two of these that have served me well with no issues, one stays at home and one travels with me.

Such a good way to simplify travel kit with everything on usb-c now.

    • I did the same. The Heymix charger that I had seemed to be working fine but I read too many bad reviews suggesting that theirs got too hot or caught fire. These things work fine until they don’t and I didn’t want to take that risk. I returned my Heymix to Amazon and bought Belkin, which has been working great.

Bought and used this exact charger before. It fried my power bank that caused a horrible chemical plasticky smell.

I suspect it also fried my ipad air 5 because it couldn’t turn on or charge (tested with other chargers, luckily Costco had my back for returns but lost data).

Contacted seller and we had a lengthy heated correspondence where seller denied that it was faulty and accused me of lying.

I left a detailed negative review and the seller created a new listing and abandoned the original one.

Days after, I received a AusPost express letter where Zyron tech thanked me for taking down their competitors. It was full of grammatical errors and used my Amazon nickname and not my real name. I am certain it was the seller thinking I was from Zyron and got my address illegally.

    • what the heck @ letter!

  • Any recommendations for a standing multi port usb charger ?

  • Do yourself a favour and spend an extra $50 on an Anker charger.

  • Get a Belkin or Cygnett when they're on sale. Not worth buying cheap chargers (that appear to be faking their SAA certification) and risk damaging your electronics, starting a fire or getting electrocution because they're not wired up properly. Read the comments on this post.

Weird, I bought this over a year ago as it was the rage here at ozbargain at the time, it's been fine and I use it 2-3 times a week.
Wondering If I bin it now..

    • Like wise.
I have a 65w GaN and 2 usb c+ a small chargers, been fine in the last two years.
Now here negs are taking over!

    • -1

A year ago they were new and cheap. ozb loves cheap. now it's well known they're badly made, with next to no engineering, which makes them a danger to your devices at best, a fire hazard at worst.

Honestly, a lot of cheap brandless chargers would be the same, but being brandless they're not traceable from one fake brand to the next.

    • +1

Same, might hit up Amazon for a refund return

  • Stop buying this unsafe garbage

  • +2

A friend made the mistake of buying a heymix over boxing day. I warned him but he used it anyway.

It caught fire the other night, luckily he was nearby.

  • Why nobody here reporting heymix to consumer affair like this one ?

    https://www.productsafety.gov.au/contact-us/for-consumers/re…

So , that heymix can be stopped being sold here .
Also , ozbargainers concern should talk to moderators directly here :

Time to rise up and Say NO NOW to Heymix !!

  • As per above posters, these devices appear to be unsafe. I had only discovered this recently thanks to another post and have replaced all Heymix power boards I had running in the house.

  • Wow - I have this one (or very similar looking) and used it basically every day for 6 weeks while travelling and I don't believe it caught fire even once.

Might count myself very lucky and start looking for a replacement!

  • There were multiple reports that Heymix charger potentially cause fire. You have been warned.
Save a few dollars on a crap charger for your devices that worth thousands.
    Yep. Go ahead.

  • I have a few Heymix USB chargers without issue, but a colleague had a dud one with a failed port but he still uses it on the remaining port. Borrowed that same device to charge my laptop for around 30 minutes, noticed my laptop shell had bulged out… totally expanded/bloated batteries :/ Can't definitively say the charger caused it, but its probable!

  • Buy once, buy safe. Say no to Heymix.

  • so what would one recommend instead to replace a 65w power brick that comes with my thinkpad T, for travel purposes?

  • wow the comments are frightening to read. My 65w charger is a wotobe, should I be concerned? My work test and tagged it and it got certified
