I had the exact same issue. Just pulses orange, and did not display charge level when opening/closing the case. So the unit was dead on arrival.
Went to my local JB hi-fi and easy swap out. Thankfully the second one works a treat. I was very nervous the second would be a dud. If it had of been I would have gone through DJI and tried swapping one out with them

Exchanged today, last one in stock. Battery was dead flat on it, but brought it home plugged it in and after about an hour of flashing orange it went green.

Just a heads up for anyone else - batteries age could be an issue, I picked one up from Brisbane Queen Adelaide JB on Tuesday, and it’s been sitting on charge ever since. Think it’s a case of it been sitting for 4 years in stock and the battery has gone so flat it won’t hold charge anymore. Going to try and warranty return on the weekend, will check replacement one before leaving the shop. If no go there will go the RMA process with DJI directly.
