If you transfer it normally without using osko it works fine and still arrives next day.

I've done this twice already after I had the osko problem

      • +1

I couldn't find a way to transfer from ING without using Osko. It seems to be baked in as the default. I also tried Citibank where I have a few dollars left in an account. No go there either. Life is hard enough without taking on idiot systems like IMB has. Just a recipe for more stress.

  • +1

I can't transfer from ING either. Just rang IMB and I have to wait for my welcome pack to come, the lovely lady on the phone wasn't sure if it would arrive via email or post. Apparently IMB don't have a dedicated call centre and their branch staff take most of the inquiry calls. I can't verify anything in person as I live in SA & there are no branches here.
Long story short once my ID docs are verified & sighted by IMB I can transfer my $50 in.
Let's hope it's all processed by the April cut off. Lots of work for $50 but times are tough right now and I am a true OZBargainer so letting a free $50 get away means I have to hand in my OzB card lol

    • +1

If you have another account you can try this workaround (mystate has the same issue for ING)

      • Thanks for the FYI, fingers crossed I scheduled a transfer for tomorrow so we'll see if that works :)

    • +1

How did you go? Any updates? I'm having the same with ING. And now the 7 days since opening the account has passed so is pointless now.

      • I sent the deposit through as a scheduled payment from ING. It landed in my IMB acc within a day or so. Still waiting for IMB to send me my ID verification docs though.

  • My email records show that I opened and IMB account in 2017. Am I eligible?

  • I tried via Up and Osko failed. It then gave me the option to send via bank transfer. Should this work? Same as schedule payment?

    • yup, this is the way

  • Commbank blocking my transaction - called commbank, on hold for 45 minutes. Call got disconnected. Here i am

  • +2

Hey Google, remind me to open IMB account on 18 April and to deposit $50.

  • Tried NAB twice - bank transfer failed. Incorrect account number.

  • +1

For info for those who took up this promotion

Just logged into my account and noticed they had charged me an account fee that has dropped the balance below $50

Might be worth checking as I think you need to maintain a balance above $50 during the qualifying period

    • +1

I think you opened the wrong account type.

I don't get charged fees on the two I opened

      • Did you order a physical debit card during sign up or through the app?

Apparently, there's a $1.50 per month charge for a physical debit card.

Signed up on Feb 28, deposited $55 as a scheduled transfer (as Osko and PayID wasn't available to me), so that hit the account March 2 (within the 7 days).

Talk about having to jump through hoops to get Osko and PayID working. As i'm from SA and there's no branch here, they emailed me a 5 page PDF document to get my ID verified and witnessed by a JP, etc. I did that, scanned it, emailed it back, nope… not good enough for them. Despite their email saying I could send it back via email, they want it posted to them the old fashioned way or they won't accept it. Did that, waited 10 days, called them and they only just fished out the mail from the PO Box. Then they contact me saying they can't get hold of the verifier (JP) that witnessed my documents - it was at my local council chambers where they have 5 different JP's coming in from 9am-3pm. But, why the hell would they need to verify verified documents (I provided coloured scans of my driver's license and medicare card - all rubber stamped and signed by the JP as instructed). Is this a job interview?

Today they finally let me know I can use Osko and PayID… about time!

If this is how they operate, i'm surprised they're still in business. I can't wait to get the $50 bonus and get the hell out of there.
Worst banking experience ever. ING and Ubank are a breeze compared to IMB. What's the bet that getting the $50 bonus won't be easy and happen automatically?

        • +2

Why are you bothering with Osko/PayID anyway? Do you just enjoy self-flagellation? It's $50 mate. Just send it old-school EFT-style as BSB/Acc pay anyone style and let it go in overnight. Is it really worth the pain and suffering you've put yourself through just so you can see the funds arrive within a minute? This is NOT a time critical deposit to be made. You've got until 21 April to get it done. Who cares whether it happens instantly or overnight?

          • @Legoman:

            Do you just enjoy self-flagellation?

            LOL!
I still don't understand why they went through all that pain for a one time funds transfer.

        • Lol it's free money so jump through the hoops or go without mr ;)

PS Osko / PayID won't work on their savings accounts, only transaction accounts… The guy below told u what to do..

    • +1

      I actually have $0.12 extra - interest?

      • +1

        I had $0.16c in interest.

  • -2

Has anyone received the bonus? I deposited on the 30th Jan and still nothing…

    • +3

      No.

Clearly you didn't read the t&cs

      • Worked out I did the previous one but you almost had me convinced I didn't read the t&c for a moment.

  • got my bonus 17th march

    • That bonus was for the transaction account not the saver account.
      Another $50 still to come

      • I thought the $50 bonus was as the title of the thread says, only for the saver account. Where does the transaction account deal come in?

        • WTF! I thought the same.
There is no mention of the transaction account bonus within the deal description.

I am about to open an account now. Do I just open a Reward Saver and a paired Transaction Account at the same time, and then slow transfer $50 to each account?

        • +1

Once you open the saver account you get an email inviting you to open the transaction account and get a second bonus.

I got paid the second bonus but am still waiting for the first bonus

          • @edrift: Thanks, mate.
I will just open the Reward Saver account first, and then wait for the invite email.

Deal description should be updated for all.

          • @edrift: Same here.

            • @gadgetguy: I never got this email to open a transaction account. Also can't find any info about the transaction account being eligible for a separate $50? Anyone got the link?
Are you guys referring to the expired deals where you got $50 for a previous promotion on the transaction accounts?

              • @Purkulator: I'm calling BS on the invite to open a transaction account. Or perhaps it was a previous deal that included that. I've had the Saver account now for over a week with $50 in it and no such invites have been forthcomng. Furthermore, there is nowhere within the IMB online banking to even open a transaction account from your Saver account.

                • @Legoman: This was the t&C in the email I received:

                  1. This offer may only be redeemed by the member who received this email directly from IMB. The offer may only be redeemed once per member. Normal account opening requirements apply. The offer expired in March.

              • @Purkulator: I got snail mail which included another $50 bonus for referrals

      • Ohh nice! So $50 more coming upto 15 business days after 21st April?
        Sounds good to me.

  • +1

Don't bother downloading the IMB phone app if you haven't got a giant screen on your phone. iPhone SE2 here and the app is impossible to use because the screen keyboard that pops up to enter your customer number and password with completely covers the log-in button you have to press afterwards, but the keyboard doesn't go away after you've filled in the details and there's no way to dismiss it, move it, or reduce/minimise it, so it's completely impossible to log in! Brilliant.

  • Just checking the account number that the funds need to be deposited to.

    I have the following details:

    ‘Member Number 4XXXXXXX4

    Account Number 641800 – 2XXXXXXX3’

I assume the BSB is 641800, but is the account number for the transfer the member number (4XXXXXXX4) or the number after the dash (2XXXXXXX3)?

    • +1

It is not the member number, it is the number after the dash.

      • Appreciate the reply. That's the number that I used for the deposit, but like others have reported my deposit was rejected with the following note "IMB Account blocked". Guess I'll try again.

        • +1

Your bank is likely trying to transfer using Osko, which won't work for IMB. Try to use another transfer method if you can or a different bank.

          • @wangasm: Could you transfer the funds using a family member's bank account? Or, would that be blocked as well due to name mismatch?

          • +1

@wangasm: Made a delayed transfer and this worked.

  • Anyone got their cash yet?

    • +4

      Nope.

They say they'll pay within 15 business days of promo end date. So expect to see something mid May

      • -3

        Did anyone contact them?

  • -3

This bank is so hard to deal with.
If you signed up online, they won't accept your OSKO transfer. So you can't transfer any money from your other bank account.
You have to sign a paper and post it back to the bank!!!!
    What!

    • +2

If you signed up online, they won't accept your OSKO transfer.

LOL! All you needed to do was transfer $50 using slow transfer after opening your account.

  • +5

Got a random call from this number: 02 8572 2330.
In case anyone is wondering, this is IMB calling up to check you did not provide a bogus number during sign up, or something to that effect.

  • -1

    FYI for future times….

I got the same problem with OSKO / PayID.. the reason is.. is that this is a "savings" account, not a transaction account.

You can only transfer via normal slower bank transfer.. it goes in overnight.

I actually gave up for over a week… Contacted their support n explained the issue and given there is NO guidance on their website, I asked if they would honour the terms even though it's been more then 7 days since opening… And they did. Hopefully that extra $50 will come through soon

  • -1

Oh and OSKO / PayID works for their other accounts ie transaction account

  • Still waiting…

  • Has anyone received 50 dollar bonus?

    • No

    • nope

    • -2

I don’t think it’s gonna be that easy. Nothing with them has been easy.

Being in SA, and no branches here, I had to get documents verified by a JP, and post them back to them via snail mail. Via email isn’t accepted by them. And, then they contacted me saying they couldn’t contact the JP to verify their identity. Like what?

I did it so I could enable Osko and PayID. I tried various banks and each time I tried to do an Osko or old-fashioned EFT transfer it failed, plus I wanted to see the funds hit the account and likewise wanna be able to get it out of there instantly if they ever pay this bonus out.

I opened the account Feb 28 - with 2 transactions listed with $0.00 - Bonus Special Applied and another with Expiry Date May 31st.

I transferred $55 into the account March 02 - only way I could was to defer the payment / schedule the payment to go through 48 hours later.

Bloody annoying bank. $1.50 per month if you want a visa debit card too.
How this bank exists is beyond me.

Hope they pay up so I can get my money out of there!

    • +1

You're a little early, the deadline for the bonus is end of the week.

      • Customer service said up to 15 business days after April 23.

Yes, they have 2 more days (until this Friday), but nothing has been simple with this bank.

I really do want to take the money and run!

    • No, but agree with other comments in here. This is not a bank you wanna keep using after you've got the bonus. This is a perfect example of take the money and run.

  • If they don't end up paying it within the prescribed timeline they will end up with alot of complaints to AFCA from some angry OZBargainers 😂

  • Tomorrow 🤞

    • don't hold your breath

  • Today's the day! Anyone got their money? I haven't yet.

    • +1

      Still nothing

    • -1

      Of course not

    • Have you contacted imb yet? What did they say?

  • +4

I just received the $50 deposit then

  • Woohoo! Ka-Ching. Too bad it was such a poor experience (no osko) otherwise would’ve kept it.

  • Got my bonus!

  • Wow my money has also just gone in.

  • Same!

  • Wow, they paid up. Amazing.

Osko transferred all of it out as soon as I saw it. Now safe in my Ubank account.

    • -1

Saying something is "safe in UBank" is a classic oxymoron

      • What's wrong with Ubank, UBank or ubank? (no version of it seems to look quite right)

Unlike IMB, the application was easy, student bonus paid even though i'm not a student, referral bonus paid, interest paid at the end of the month and didn't have to jump through hoops to open the account or get Osko working. Unlike many other online only accounts, Ubank actually lets me deposit and withdrawal funds direct to/from the save account, whereas previous banks I was with like ING forced me to move it to/from the transaction account first.

It's backed and secured by NAB as far as I know, so I think it's safer in Ubank than it was in ING or any other bank that isn't one of the Big 4.

I think it's "safe", but if i'm wrong, please tell me!

        • -1

A much easier question is "what's not wrong with :ubank?"
          https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/ubank

0.6 stars out of 4 with 716 votes is the TL:DR version.
and yes, I know the PR ratings are supposedly out of 5 stars, but in practicality they're not because no-one can vote below 1 star, so it's actually 0.6 / 4 stars

          • @Legoman: Wow. I see polarising reviews like that all the time. It's either 1 star or 4/5 star reviews. They haven't screwed up anything for me yet. I found their customer service friendly, and app is more than adequate (and actually have one for tablets like my iPad - whereas even CommBank can't be bothered to have one). I guess some have had bad experiences with them. I could say the same about More (the NBN provider whose deals have been on here a fair few times… i'd give them -1 stars if I could, whereas others seem to find their service okay).

            • -2

@Graffin: UBank's fine until you (gasp) dare to withdraw any money. Then they lock your account with the excuse of security for your benefit. Then the fun begins. You'll quickly find they are uncontactable. They don't answer messages left on chat, they don't respond to e-mails either and they don't answer the phone in under 3 hours. They won't unlock your account until you contact them. They are the masters of deliberate creation of circular catch-22 paradoxical situations you cannot escape without AFCA intervention. Eventually, after 2 months of contact through AFCA, you'll be returned access to your funds so you can get the hell away from them, and then they'll lock your account again and the whole process restarts.
There are a few banks in Australia that should be blacklisted as never touch no matter what they appear to offer. Heritage, HSBC and UBank.

              • +1

@Legoman: Good to know. Not looking to withdraw yet, not unless the other banks offer a considerably higher % return on savings. I think it's a case of YMMV. Every person's interaction or experiences with a company could be entirely different.

I wouldn't recommend More Telecom for example to my worst enemy - literally the worst, rudest company i've ever dealt with, whereas others have had an okay-good experience.

Likewise, of ALL the banks and credit unions i've ever held an account with, no institution has been as bad as IMB.Opening an account with them and getting Osko to work was like going for a job interview. They made every step so freaking difficult. So much so, I can't be bothered closing my account. If they have this offer again in the future, they can keep it.

I appreciate the forewarning when it does come time to move my money though!

              • +1

                @Legoman:

UBank's fine until you (gasp) dare to withdraw any money.

Seriously, WTF are you on about?

I have been using both the old UBank (now migrated), and the 86400 UBank without any of the issues you have described above.

Not that I need to call UBank all that often, but during the migration process when I called them they answered in less than 5 minutes (during business hours) every single time.

                • -1

@DoctorCalculon: I recommend you read the Whingepool forum about UBank. It's only about ~400+ pages long. It doesn't matter which one you choose to read though because you can barely find a single page that doesn't have someone complaining about UBank blocking their account for no reason when they dared to make a withdrawal. Used to happen on the old green/black platform, but now even more so on the wokist purple butchered 86400 platform. It's even a 'known' predictable issue that regular users are so familiar with they 'budget' for the time it's going to take to call the bank to get their account unlocked when they have to use it.

          • +2

@Legoman: In my experience, take ratings from productreview.com.au with a very large grain of salt. It's probably the most misleading review site in existence.
For literally everything on there, most of the time the ratings don't mean much at all without doing a lot more digging. Even high ratings are suspicious.

Look at the ratings of other reputable banks for example:
            CBA - 1.4
            Westpac - 1.4
            NAB - 1.4
            Macquarie - 1.4
            ANZ - 1.3
            Citibank - 1.2

If anything, UBank's 1.6 make them look on top compared to the above banks.

            • @wangasm: Of those scores, the only one that looks questionably accurate to me is Macquarie.

  • Confirmed, received my $50

  • Got it and transferred out.

Time to close the account ready for next time

    • +1

Time to close the account ready for next time

I am damn sure this bank will keep a record.
So, the next time you open another Reward Saver account for a similar promotion, they won't treat you as a new customer.

  • +2

Received bonus. Time to transfer out and close. Definitely not an easy bank to deal with.

  • closed my account via chat on the app. fairly straight forward.

I'll wait until the change of month, so that any accrued interest is paid out and I can get a statement downloaded for the tax return first, but each to their own.
