10% off when you buy the ht-a9 and sa-sw5 in the same purchase from Sony Store.
I've seen ebay discounts for these two at the Sony Ebay store before, but I don't believe it's been possible to beat 10% off for a while.

I have this combo and would say it's decent for movies. Even in a room that's an unconventional shape, the spatial sound works pretty well.
Haven't tested it in a good room, but you could find reviews on youtube for that.

Good to combine with Amex $100 off as well

'Even in a room that's an unconventional shape'

In fairness, that's what they were targeting with it too. Real homes and environments as opposed to designated HT Rooms with sound treatments etc etc

Good point. I would say my room is pushing more than it's intended, with the TV off to the left and huge gap between front speakers + rears further away from sitting position than advised. Still the centre channel sounds great and most the height effects are effective.

only issue I've had is drop outs, but my setup is right next to my router, which is not advised

If anyone is considering this, strongly consider giving this video a watch:

Seems like the way Sony implemented the wifi signalling between the speakers has the potential to cause all sorts of connectivity issues for your existing WiFi network due to the amount of data it multicasts out and with the way it channel hops.

    • You really do need to watch this people. Its good odds of fking up your wifi

hopefully this is a sign that a new version is coming.

notwithstanding the connectivity issues (I’ve had a few, but can work it out by changing settings once a while). This system is bloody good! Nothing compares at this price point.

    • That seems to be the general consensus. Tempted to order.

Remember surround sounds only good in your theatre room if you have soundproof walls or concrete walls. Otherwise meh
