Hey Oz Bargain Community,

If you're flat chat, just skip straight to the bold writing

We could hardly believe the wonderful support we received from the Oz Bargain Community during our previous deal a few weeks ago; together we set a new Lime Blue Coffee record, drum roll please…our new record is a whopping 191 up votes!!! Please know your continued engagement be it an order, up vote, comment or message sincerely means the world to us. We compare current levels of engagement to previous levels to see what we're doing right and what still needs more work. We still get ecstatic about positive feedback (up votes, comments, reviews, messages), upset about negative feedback (but in a positive way because the customer is still talking to us, so it's on us to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem) and just before we post a deal/launch a new product/even send out a package we still get nervous/excited. As long as we keep getting those feelings I think we're hopefully on the right track to never take you for granted and keep trying to make the Lime Blue Coffee experience even better…OK enough rambling from me, onto the good stuff now.

The time has come to say goodbye for now to our rotating featured Double Washed Process Colombia Huila Single Origin coffee, so we can get ready to feature a new rotating Single Origin (exciting things in the works), as such we've decided to launch a deal to farewell this wonderful SO :)

As there's not too much of this Colombia Huila Single Origin remaining, we've decided to also offer a discount on our much loved Brazil São Paulo Single Origin.

It's the perfect time to shout yourself or someone else a fresh coffee gift, so we're offering you a 40% discount off incredible Colombia Huila Single Origin Single Origin and our wonderful Brazil São Paulo Single Origin Coffees:

1) NOW SOLD OUT Colombia Huila Single Origin only $15.59 per 500g (usually $25.99 per 500g). Only available in 500g packaging increments to ensure we don't sell more than we have in stock. Of course, you can order more than 500g by increasing the quantity on the cart page

2) Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, only $14.99 per 500g (usually $24.99 per 500g), and $26.39 per 1kg (usually $43.98 per 1kg)

Deal valid for orders placed until 15/02/2023, unless sold out before. You can pick from the available green circle dispatch dates on the cart page. Dispatch can happen for you as near as tomorrow (Friday) and as far as the last Thursday in March. Once a given dispatch date is at full capacity the green circle will be removed and date will turn red, first in best dressed :)

Some helpful info:

  • You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal, we strive to dispatch our fresh coffee within 48 business hours of roasting
  • One dispatch per order
  • With our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, if you select 500g as a quantity please ensure you also select 500g as the packaging option. If 500g is selected as a quantity with 1kg as the packaging selection the product will show as "unavailable"
  • 500g bag packing (it's resealable) is also available for orders larger than 500g this is an extra $3.60 per kg including the discount (normally $6 extra per kg) to cover the extra bag/s, label/s and time it takes to pack
  • Complimentary gift notes can be written in the designated space on the cart page."
  • The largest bag size we use is 1kg and it has a zip (it's resealable), for example if you order 4kg with 1kg packaging you will receive 4 x 1kg bags, you will not receive a single huge 4kg bag.
  • VIC|NSW|ACT|QLD|TAS|NT Flat Rate Shipping $6.99 No Delivery Company Preference, $7.99 Shipit-Courier's Please, $8.99 Australia Post, $12.99 Express Post, Live Quote Shipping at the checkout for Same Day Delivery as Dispatch in VIC in the highlighted map areas https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/361387/95314/same_day_…
  • SA|WA Flat Rate Shipping $9.99 Express Post. Regular parcels travel to SA & WA via train. The recent floods have damaged the rail line to SA & WA and a freight train has derailed, as such we've been informed by Australia Post that standard delivery to SA & WA is currently not an option for the foreseeable future. Express Post travels by plane, so it's still a viable option. We understand some of our SA & WA customers would prefer our "$6.99 No Delivery Company Preference" standard shipping option. Our Express Post option is usually $12.99. As Express shipping has been forced on us and you as the only viable option to SA & WA for the moment, to make the best of this situation we've decided to split the price difference and offer our SA & WA customers flat-rate Express shipping for only $9.99
This is part of Valentine's Day Sales for 2023.

  • Any recommendations for someone who likes a dark and strong flavour coffee? Thanks.

    • +5

Morning @happykamper appreciate you reaching out to check!

If by strong you mean chocolate flavour notes (as some people do) then I'd recommend our Brazil SO, followed by our Moments to Memories blend. However, if by strong you mean a dark roast, which is forward on bitter notes then we don't currently have a product that fits that category. All roasted coffee has an element of bitterness, but as we roast medium/omni we aim to balance the bitterness with the other flavour notes e.g.sweetness, sourness….as opposed to featuring the bitterness.

p.s. I think you've accidentally click the "Associated (with Lime Blue Coffee)" button, as this is the only account on Oz Bargain "Associated" with Lime Blue :)

      • +1

Hi. Thanks a lot for the reply. Yeah I did mean a dark and bitter roast, just how I prefer it. I might still give the Brazil a go, as it seems quite popular.

Also with the associated tag, yeah it wouldn't let me untick it for some reason, so I asked mods to remove that straight away. Cheers.

        • Appreciate the confirmation, different strokes different folks :)

If you do decide to give our Brazil SO a shot, then I hope you love it!

Sure thing, I believe it was to do with a recent update on the site, but they sorted it out in no time.

  • Would your store ever consider doing free shipping? Maybe if someone orders $100 or more? Might encourage people spending more

    Love the deal

    • +13

      Hey @timmythelamb

Sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide that feedback suggestion, the more input we receive the better!

We regularly consider it, in fact I actually had a dream about it the other night (not a joke haha). We would love to offer this and do agree that it would hopefully increase the basket/order size. However, at present I believe if we posted a deal with this level of discount plus free shipping, we'd make a net loss on that deal, which is not sustainable. On average our shipping costs are notably higher than our flat shipping rates. We already have certain orders at 40% off with the $6.99 shipping that we'll make a loss on. The only was to have a deal at present for 40% off plus free shipping and make a profit would be to drop the quality of our coffee, which we wouldn't consider. Our margins are thin, but are viable with scale.

Now all that said, we're a few months away from new contract negotiations with delivery companies. We've got 2-3 months to grow our number of orders to the next level of discount with delivery companies, no denying that it'll be tough to get there, but it's also within reach. I have an idea, but am not exactly sure what the discount will be (comes down to negotiation). I believe if we can get to that order volume milestone in time for the next contact negotiations we'll be able to drop some of our flat rate shipping option prices down and may even be able to offer the highly sought after "free shipping" with a minimum spend level.

Very happy you love the deal, thanks again for your input :)

      • +8

For the love of all that is holy, please do not consider using Fastway/Aramex for your shipping.

        • +1

I'll second that JV, not once have I ever had a single parcel arrive on time or they pretend they attempted delivery but did not, I've had to check my CCTV multiple times to prove to them no driver attempted delivery. Then you have to call them to "reattempt" delivery and wait another 2 to 3 days.
They are voted as the worst delivery company on Product Review, read the reviews and you'll see my experience is very common.
I'll avoid any business that uses Aramex like the plague.

        • +7

haha @jje that is one concern you can take off your plate, they won't be at the negotiating table AKA we currently don't consider them a viable option and haven't for years!

        • +2

1000% I would gladly pay for shipping if it meant NOT using those absolute clowns Aramex.

      • +1

        Great reply, makes sense! :)

        • Terrific to hear, glad you're happy with my reply and we're on the same page :)

    • -1

      or even $30

  • Possibly didn't need beans yet but that Columbian is delicious so snapped it up :)

    • Not associated, can’t change it for some reason …

      • Fixed this for you, but did you make a selection on 'I am associated with…' drop-down box?

Update: Apologies, there appears to be a system bug where the 'Not associated' option is not appearing on comments once the rep has commented on the node. This is being fixed fixed now

    • Wonderful to hear @ASA sounds like you're all set for a coffee party!

Very happy you've enjoyed our this SO so much, thank you so much for placing another order with us :)

    • Colombian*

  • Do you have anything light roasts? I couldn’t seem to find any on your website. I recently did the slayer mod on my Breville dual boiler and apparently light roasts benefit massively from flow profiling so I’m keen to try them out!

Also oops, I’m not associated with Like Blue. Just accidentally ticked the box.

    • +1

Hey @Fotato appreciate the double check!

Nothing at present that I'd call a "light roast," who knows what the future will hold. What you've read likely relates to the fact that light roasts are denser/closer to their green form than darker roasts, which means more contact time (higher ratios and longer time in contact with water) and higher extraction temperatures. Lighter roasts generally have higher acidity levels and higher nuances of volatile aromatics (but these can be a tad trickier to extract with lighter roasts). Both our options on this deal should be delicious with the slayer mod, but if you were to pick only one I'd highly recommend you go for our Colombian SO, the acidity is higher and nuanced flavour variety larger :)

  • Snagged one of each.

    • +1

Fantastic, thank you so much, love that combo order!!!

  • +1

You just can't beat that caramelly aroma of the Brazil SO. I have heaps of it but ordered more on delayed dispatch.

    • Goes well with milk I take it as a latte?

      • +1

        That's how I have mine!

    • Woohoo for that wonderful feedback @Blu !!!

Never want to run out of the good stuff, love the forward thinking, thank you so much for the compliment and placing anther order with us, it's sincerely appreciated :)

  • Not sure what has changed, @LimeBlueCoffee, but default delivery method (usually Shippit/Aus Post) from you to Sydney seems to be speedier in recent months. It used to take up to a week, and now I'm receiving deliveries 2-3 days after posting, which is of course a good thing. Thanks for the deals.

    • +1

Hey @moocher wonderful, absolute music to my ears, got to love speedy delivery!

Appreciate you taking the time to provide this positive feedback. We regularly work with our account managers to further improve the delivery experience. Based on these conversations and visiting a parcel sorting facility last year, in recent months we have changed a few things, which the data (plus your feedback) shows are having a positive impact. It's also currently a quieter period for delivery companies, the real test will be towards the end of the year when delivery companies are under the pump. We're currently working on a few more improvements with the delivery experience and speed. A big step impacting both (delivery experience and speed) will be new unique packaging we're trying to create (have been working on it since last year), we're getting close, but still not completely over the line in knowing if it is currently viable to make, fingers crossed.

p.s. very happy this deal's a winner for you :)

    • I agree. I'm also in metro Sydney and it used to take up to 1 week for delivery. Today I got the beans (roasted Thu on 23/2) on Mon 27/2. Very impressive shipping speed especially over a weekend.

  • What would you recommend for
    a) Black espresso
    b) cold brew
    ?

    • Hey @askvictor great questions, but I'll need a bit more info from you to respond with great answers (hopefully) :)

Both options I'd recommend from an extraction perspective, it now comes down to your personal flavour preference.

Please let me know your thoughts on the following and then I'll come back with a recomendation:

      1) Fruit 1 to Chocolate 10 Flavour Scale, what number would be your ideal coffee?
      2) Lemon 1 to Banana 10 Acidity Level Scale, what number would be your ideal coffee?

      • +1

Hey, thanks for the fast reply! Never thought about it in terms of fruit like that, but generally like my espresso like a punch in the face (maybe 8 fruit/chocolate, 5 banana/lemon), and cold brew like being slapped by a damn lettuce leaf (3 fruit/choc, 7 lemon/banana)

        • +1

Sure thing, coffee beans are a seed from a coffee cherry (a fruit) and most people know about fruit flavour, so I find them to be a helpful reference point e.g. someone may never have eaten a grapefruit before, but still likely know they're highly acidic.

Nice helpful answers, I think you'd likely enjoy both of them, but I also think the clear winner for you will be our Colombian SO!

p.s. your descriptions made me laugh, especially the "lettuce leaf" one :)

  • Thanks Tom - I was actually trying to place an order yesterday but the website wouldn't let me select a dispatch date!

It's working now so looking forward to the Brazilian single origin

    • Hey @punkindrublic really appreciate the feedback and persistence!

There was a glitch in the code, which disabled the checkout button. As soon as we found out about the issue it resulted in emergency panic stations mode, then we instantly jumped into resolution mode. It was fixed in just under half an hour. Silver lining for you, is that yesterday all our coffees were full price, so the slight order delay inconvenience (apologies) meant you got a discount today. If there's even an issue, please feel free to shoot us an email, so we can sort it ASAP for you.

Thank you so much for placing another order with us, it really is appreciated :)

  • bought 1 of each to try :)
delayed dispatch is an awesome feature for coffee drinkers so +1 to you.

    • Hey @hikki terrific combo flavour order, thank you so much and for the +1 too!!!

Fantastic, very happy our unique delayed/scheduled dispatch feature is a winner for you, we think it's the best way for Lime Bluers to ensure they don't run out of the good stuff :)

  • When was it roasted?

    • Hey @Serpeant always good to double check!

The roast date will depend on the dispatch date you select :)

"You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal, we strive to dispatch our fresh coffee within 48 business hours of roasting"

  • Great timing! Ordered one of each to be dispatched tomorrow. Almost out of my last batch from one of my earlier orders with you. Fingers crossed it reaches me early next week 😊

    • Woohoo for perfect timing!

Outstanding, thank you so much for that combo order, it's truly appreciated. Just in case it helps, I'll cross my fingers too, for our fresh coffee to arrive before you run out :)

    • I just put an order in for a kilo of the Brazilian, and was given a dispatch date a week from today (21 Feb)! What gives?!

      • Hey @wisdomtooth thank you so much for placing your first order with us, it really does mean a lot and is not an opportunity we take for granted!

Appreciate you reaching out to double check. Up until early last night there were still spots available for tomorrow's dispatch, but they got reserved quickly.

As per our deal description "You can pick from the available green circle dispatch dates on the cart page…Once a given dispatch date is at full capacity the green circle will be removed and date will turn red, first in best dressed." We have a schedule for our dispatch for a few reasons, one of which is to ensure we don't bite off more than we can chew and let our customers down. For example, let's say our resources allow us to dispatch 400 (that's just a random number) orders on a given day, if we accept 500 orders for that day rather than moving 100 to another day that would mean before we even start the day we're already going to be letting down 100 customers by saying we'll dispatch on X date knowing full well it's not a realistic promise.

Deal times can get a tad hectic, so to ensure any future orders (hopefully there will be) you make with us are dispatched on an ideal date I highly recommend reserve the date in advance (at present you can reserve an order/s dispatch date/s up to 2 months in advance) and just race to the checkout as soon as you see a deal pop up or as getting low on the good stuff :)

P.s. you're welcome to send a reply email to your order confirmation with your early dispatch request, if we can make it happen we will.

        • P.s. edit* I think you've already emailed I'll send off a reply soon :)

  • Thanks OP, the Brazil SO sounds pretty popular from the other ozbargainer comments so I've popped in an order to try!
I'm personally new to espressos/home coffee making (just got a Bambino recently) so I'm still just experimenting. Really excited to try and see the differences with your beans!!

Any suggestions on how I can make the most of it?

    • Also, what's the best way to store beans? I'm just keeping my coffee in their resealable bags at the moment but not sure if there's a better way.

      • +2

Hey @cubeofspades nice speed round of questions (glad you reached out) and congrats on your new setup!

Nice choice to start making coffee with our Brazil SO and I'm happy you're excited. Thank you so much for placing your first coffee orders with us, it really does mean a lot and is an opportunity we won't take for granted!

Do you have a grinder? If so, which make/model did you get if you don't mind me asking?

The Bambino is a terrific bang for buck machine, it can make a tasty coffee. I sure do have suggestions for you. On our bag you'll notice brew ratios and a dosing/extraction example. I'd recommend you follow the ratios and extraction/contact time, but not the example. The example is with a 20 gram dose, which is best suited to a 58mm basket and some 54mm baskets too. Your machine has a 54mm basket and I've found the tastiest dose for the Bambino to be a 16 grams dose. Also your machine has three heat settings for the group head, start your experiments with the hottest setting.

With regard to your storage question, roughly how many coffees a day do you drink?

        • I'm using a 1Zpresso Q2 handgrinder at the moment and normally just one or two flat whites in the morning every day. :)

Good tip on the brew ratios, will definitely give 16g a try when I get the beans. I've been sticking to 18g so far based on the manual haha! Didn't realise I can change the temp settings as well, will look into it.

          • +1

            @cubeofspades: Appreciate the extra info!

Nice grinder, glad you took the plunge to get one. Glad the tip was helpful. Based on 1-2 cups a day you'll likely go through 448g-896g plus purging grams. For the future I'd recommend you getting two 500g bags, keep one of the them sealed, put it into a zip lock bag and then into the freezer. Open the other bag and get stuck in, when you're not making a coffee it's ideal to keep the opened/resealed bag into a cool, dark, dry place AKA away from water and heat is your best bet :)

p.s. I just had a look at the Bambino manual and I think temperature adjustment may only be on the Bambino Plus, apologies for the false alarm

  • Which one is good for expresso?

    • Hey @yamahamoto nice question, but I'll need a bit more info from you to respond with a helpful answer :)

      3) Do you add milk to your espresso? If yes, is 25% or 75+% of your coffee milk?

      • +1

I just drink coffee lol. I gave it a try and order 1kg of Brazil.

        • haha nice response!

Yes, all coffee does taste like coffee, but one coffee can taste distinctively different to another. The questions were just to help narrow down which coffee may be best suited to you.

Sounds like you've made the ideal choice, thank you for you order, hope it's a winner for you :)

  • How long is an unopened pack good for? If stored in a cupboard which is dark, etc.

    • +1

I freeze mine and they're good for a month or two.

      • Appreciate the answer assist @jje !

You're spot on. Depending on your method of freezing you can extend the freshness for even longer than 2 months :)

    • +2

When coffee is stored in ambient temperatures it's ideal to enjoy in within roughly a month of the roast date. If you'd like to extend the freshness of a sealed bag, simply put that sealed bag into a zip lock bag and then into your freezer. This will rapidly slow oxidation, thus extending freshness for months. Once you've removed the coffee and opened the bag the "roughly a month" applies again. I wouldn't recommend putting the coffee back in the freezer once the bag has been defrosted and opened :)

      • cool, thanks. To defrost before use, you just leave it out for what, like 24hrs?

        • I grind mind from frozen. Actually seems to give a better grind. I means you can also leave the beans in the freezer after opening the bag.

        • +3

          Sure thing :)

          Nice follow up questions!

It's up to your personal preference if you'd like to defrost before use. Length of time would depend on the ambient environment, but I think generally speaking if you take the bag out of the freezer just before you go to bed it should be defrosted in time for your morning wake up cup. I personally don't wait for the coffee to defrost because frozen coffee is more brittle than defrosted, this results in more even particle distribution once you grind it, thus a more evenly extracted and hopefully more delicious coffee.

  • +4

Tom at LBC is a legend.

I had an issue with my shipment of beans form the last deal and he sorted out the issue very fast.

The level of customer service these guys offer is second to none.

Fantastic customer service and great coffee…….cant go wrong.

    Thanks Tom.

    • Agreed. They're awesome.

  • I have 1 on the way for Feb, 1 for March ordered last time.. Open the dates for April :)

    • Hey @FindMeADeal love your forward planning!!!

You won't have to wait took much longer to reserve your April dispatch dates, only another 1-2 weeks before we open it up. The current tech means it's a little tricky to change dispatch date more than 60 days after an other is place and we like to keep the dates flexible to change by customers. Good news is that we're currently exploring tech developments to fix this, so we'll hopefully be able to open up more future dates moving forward :)

  • How long do frozen coffee beans last for once defrosted?

    • Hey again @timmythelamb good question!

Provided they've been frozen well AKA they don't have freezer burn, I'd recommend enjoying your coffee within roughly a month of defrosting :)

  • Is the Colombia Huila available in beans only? I don't currently have a grinder.

    • +1

Hey @AaronL89 appreciate you reaching out!

Sure thing, we can grind it for you, we just need to keep 1 product SKU for our Colombia SO to ensure we don't sell more than the remaining stock. Feel free to fire off an order/s now and simply send a reply email to your order confirmation as soon as you get it with your pre-ground request mentioning the specific brew method you use e.g. espresso, plunger, pour over. We'll take care of the rest :)

      • Top-notch service!

        Order placed :)

        • +1

Wonderful to hear, very happy we're in your good books, we'll keep working hard to stay there :)

Thank you so much for placing another terrific order with us, it's truly appreciated!

  • +1

Best beans and best service from this mob

  • Would it be an option to choose the delivery date instead of the despatch date?

    • +1

I don't think LBC has crystal ball to know exactly how far you live or how long it would take in post considering the different shipping options..

      • If such a crystal ball existed and we could get our hands on it, that sure would be a game changer :)

    • Hey @JohnB100 appreciate you reaching out to check!

Generally speaking this isn't currently possible to do accurately for all of Australia. As we send fresh coffee all over the Country we mostly rely on 3rd party delivery companies the get the good stuff in our customers hands. We are looking into potentially adding some software that gives a delivery date estimate. However, @huntabargain is spot on that's it's a bit tricky to show this accurately on the cart page (where you select a dispatch date) because we offer customers a choice of different shipping options which are selected after the cart page. Furthermore, delivery companies generally provide ETD's to customers that are further out than they initially expect delivery to happen, to make their targets easy to meet.

There is a current scenario in which we do indirectly offer this delivery date selection. For most of metro Victoria we do have a "same day delivery as dispatch" shipping option available, this is basically an Uber for parcels delivery company so it's a tad pricey:)

  • Hello limeblue,
For drip/filter coffee is one better than the other?
I'm probably a 7 Flavour and 7 Acidity on your scale.
    Thanks

    • Hey @tranter appreciate you reaching out to check and providing answer before I've asked questions, terrific efficiency!

From an extraction and taste perspective both are delicious for filter. However, based on your info, if I could only recommend one option for drip/filter I'd say go with the Colombian SO :)

  • Perfect timing. These are a great everyday bean for milk coffee on the BES870.

  • Is there decaf option?

    • Hey @Meovel there sure is, we've got a tasty SWP Decaf in stock!

  • Received my first order a few days ago, have not tried yet, good to see periodic specials.

    • Terrific to hear your first order got to you safe and sounds, thank you so much for placing the order, it's sincerely appreciated!

Yes, the Oz Bargain Community it truly wonderful. Hope you love our fresh coffee when you try it :)

  • Keen to try for the first time, beans are going straight into a ziplock bag and into my freezer until my current batch is out :))

    • FYI you can choose to defer delivery of your order, which is a great option.

    • Fantastic, thank you so much for placing your first order with us @Khartoum it really does mean a lot!

Nice storage system, but if you enjoy your first order enough to place a second order with us (fingers crossed), the tip from @happykamper is a winner :)

  • Hi @LimeBlueCoffee,

I like your product and have ordered it a few times before. Can you give some insight into the ethics of the beans you source? I'd like to know that I'm not supporting slave labour or something like that.

    Thanks

    • Hey @pablo sure thing, that's a valid questions to ask and I believe you'll hopefully be happy when you read our answer :)

Thank you so much for your orders with us, they're truly appreciate and I'm wrapped to know you enjoy our fresh coffee!

You'll find the answer to your questions on our "About Us" page https://limebluecoffee.com/pages/about-us

      • yeah okay that was about as clear as mud.

correct me if I'm wrong, but your answer is essentially that you don't really check where/how your beans are sourced but pay 'above fair trade price' for them?

        • @pablo appreciate the candid feedback. We've had the same question about how we source our coffee from several customers before and their responses have been the direct opposite of your response after reading the info on our "About Us" page.

Your interpretation is your interpretation and I understand interpretations can be subjective. However, for the record your interpretation does not match the reality of the situation in any way, shape or form. It would not make any sense whatsoever to "pay above fair trade" and not "really check where/how beans are sourced." Virtually every company says they source ethically, the reality varies depending on who you speak to, which is why we've explained why it makes sense to source ethically from a long-term business perspective rather than just saying "we source ethically because we're good people." Any "slave labour" practices that go on around the world would be more prevalent in Commodity Grade Coffee and we do not use that, we only use Specialty Grade Coffee. To be absolutely crystal clear and remove any "mud" we do not support slave labour!

Always happy to discuss, you're welcome to email [email protected] to clear up any specific parts of the About Us page your are interpreting in a different way to its intention :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: You may want to listen to your customers and perhaps review/update your about page, which I just read.

Pablo1’s conclusion was quite right (based on what you have on the website): you pay above fair trade price and you don’t explicitly say that the supplier is not applying dishonest practices; in other words, it seemed to me that you’re paying more 1. in the hope your supplier/s work ethically and 2. to reduce the risk of receiving a jute bag full of rocks instead of coffee beans.

If you want to deliver a different message, and I believe you do/really care, then I recommend reviewing the story.
No hard feelings from me, just genuine feedback as I actually placed an order to try your coffee.

            • +1

@Aussiecash: Hey @Aussiecash your message has been well received, we truly appreciate you taking the time to provide this constructive feedback :)

We'll revise our About Us page in the next 24 hours.

We do believe customer feedback is of the utmost importance. When I saw the feedback from @pablo1 I had another look at our About Us page last night and was left scratching my head wondering how the conclusion was reached. It's been a bit of a hectic spanner in the works type of week, I must have been more tired than I thought when I read it (and likely when I wrote our About Us page) even tagged the wrong Pablo on two separate messages last night. Now I've read it with fresh eyes, I can see where more info would be helpful for customers. If I've misinterpreted the feedback from @pablo1 then I put my hand up and apologise.

Thank you so much for giving us a shot by placing your first order with us, your vote of confidence and helpful feedback, it's an opportunity we won't take for granted!

      • I read that page today, and I have to say I'm finding it hard to believe you are paying the coffee farmers directly. You must be flying down there every few weeks then, as they would typically be paid in cash.

Unless when you say "We pay more than the Fair Trade price", you just mean you are paying your wholesaler more than the fair trade price paid to a farmer? Which is hardly surprising.

        • Hey @JohnB100 appreciate you reaching out for clarification!

We are still in the process of rewording our About Us page to add further clarity, so please bear with us. It will be updated and we're getting close to finishing the update, we're just dotting our i's and crossing our t's so the update provides more answers than questions for our customers.

Just to clarify the original wording of our About Us page that you've read. "We pay more than the Fair Trade price" and Direct Trade (paying the farmers directly) are two separate things, but are not mutually exclusive either. The intended meaning (as mentioned we're in the process of rewording the page) of "we pay more than the Fair Trade price" is meant to be that Farmers receive more than the FTP, not that once the Exporter/Importer (if farmers involved aren't able to export/import themselves) profit is removed the Farmers receive less than the FTP. The original About Us page is not trying to say we only source coffee through direct trade. That said, some (not all) of our coffee is direct trade; for a Farmer to send coffee to another Country they must go through an Exporter and an Importer, we have partnered with some farmers that have vertically integrated, so they own a farm/s, are their own Exporter/Importer too. There's also a small amount of coffee grown in Australia, which we've sourced directly too. We have visited coffee farms and will hopefully visit some more farms we source from later this year :)

  • The Colombia one I got last time from LB was quite dark roast, had to go back to Airjo since then. Just my taste though, the bean quality looked quite good.

    • Hey @werty98 thanks for taking the time to share the feedback!

Glad you thought the bean quality looked "quite good." Flavour is subjective so absolutely no problem if our Colombian SO didn't suit you. However, our Colombian SO is a medium/omni roast, so your "quite dark" has caught my attention and it's a mystery I'm keen to solve. I went to DM you, but your OZ B profile doesn't look like it accepts them. If you still have some left it would be really helpful if you could please email a photo of some beans on a white piece of paper to [email protected] if you don't have any left could you please email us referencing this comment and I'll send you a photo of two distinctive coloured beans, if you could let me know which one you received that will solve the "quite dark" mystery :)

      • That was a few months ago (also a 40% sale from LB), of course I don't have any bean left. Yes, I can tell your bean quality is quite good from how shiny/consistent the beans look and the resistance feel on my hand grinder. From other comments here, I believe you can see the demand for "light roast" is real.

Also, +1 for your delayed delivery option, really appreciate that. If you have more choice on roast levels, I won't think twice to order again.

        • Appreciate the follow up :)

Makes sense that you don't have any left if you ordered for dispatch when we launched this SO. We've sold a decent amount of this SO at full price, we had a sitewide Boxing Day Sale and with our unique delayed dispatch feature I was not sure how long away your order was dispatched.

Your extra feedback is very helpful thanks, now you've mentioned the beans were shiny plus the previous comment of "quite dark" makes me fairly positive that you did not receive this Colombian SO. I'm not saying you didn't order it, but the visual description you have of it makes me certain you haven't tasted this SO. If you have the time it would really mean a lot to us, if you'd please send us a reply email to your order confirmation. Completely understand if you don't have the time, but I really want to solve this mystery and fix the situation :)

    • Funny you say that because my last Colombia blend FROM AIRJO was much darker than usual. Didn't like it.
