The reviews aren’t so great, plus it’s micro usb (ugh!). Almost bought on the face of the deal but pass. Thanks though 🙂

    • +6

For $15 , for what it offers I think it's a bargain. And Bunnings being the seller, that's peace of mind.

    • +18

Reviews aren't terrible - mainly complaints about the lack of a manual. They certainly weren't at the $15 price point.

IIRC, the batteries in these cannot be replaced.

A Sofirn, or maybe even a Wuben, with USB-C charging and a removable battery would probably offer better value if you can stretch the budget another $10-$15.

    • +1

If I have to recharge something with a micro usb port, I always have to hunt around the house to try and remember which Google Home Mini is version 1 and came with this antiquated connector. :D

      • I have good news. This comes with a micro USB charging cable.

    • +4

A few years ago micro USB wouldn't have bothered me. These days if I can I try to get everything USB-C only.

I wonder how much time we've collectively lost trying to figure out which way the micro USB cable goes in. Thousands and thousands of years!

No stock near me - closest available store is 30km

    • Unlucky mate.

      • -6

Again: Remember! Opinions are like a**eholes. Everyone has one

  • There's one which uses 3*AA batteries, also $15. Which one is better?

    • Just personal preference I would think.

    • this one is better because its rechargeable and the original price cost more.

      • +1

        Depends if you mean

(this one is better because its rechargeable) (and the original price cost more.)

        Or

(this one is better because) (its rechargeable and the original price cost more.)

"Original price cost more" does not necessarily make something better. But it is indeed a true fact that this model is typically sold at a higher price than the "3*AA version"

    • +1

USB rechargeable, IMO. Unless you have a specific case where you can't charge it or won't have access to power.

      • +2

        Camping.

        • It's arguably easier to charge the torch in your car for an hour than packing spare AAs just in case.

      • +1

        Outdoors in general

    • +8

If the battery can not be replaced, I would say that the one that uses AA batteries is better. You can have spare batteries to use while the dead ones charge.

      • +2

The other one is also "tactical". The end of it has been weaponised to make it more destructive if you were to hit someone with it.

    • The one with AA batteries is waterproof up to 1m under water for 30mins, shatterproof lens, etc. It was originally $100 vs the rechargable one at $90, so actually in terms of peceived dollar value, the AA battery one is better.

    • It depends how you plan to use the torch. If you are like me and keep torches for occasional use (eg emergencies, blackouts or finding something under the couch) then ones with normal replaceable batteries are more practical.

It was $25 before this according to Microsoft Shopping tracker

    • RRP is 89.99 it had few drops in price.

      • +1

Probably no one ever paid it though

        • Certainly

      • Lol on the OG RRP

    • +1

      What is Microsoft Shopping tracker?

      • Probably a feature of Edge.

        • Yeah it's built into Edge, you just click on the blue price tag icon that pops up

I did put a reminder. People not to be greedy. Leave some for others too

      • i hate scum like this that ruin it for everyone. i didn't buy any, but i saw that is is sold out everywhere near me already.

        • -5

Should live closer to a bunnings that has stock maybe?

          • -1

@ThaiArse: i do, but people like you are selfish and don't think of others and abuse the deals that are available for the community.

5 other people could have benefited if you weren't greedy.

you are part of the reason of the downfall of humanity.

      • -5

They are presents for my nephews! As they love to go camping. If giving is being greedy ok.

I might order another 4 as they still have stock near me!

        • +1

They will probably sell out to other instore ozbargainers before they get picked at 4pm Saturday afternoon.

        • +4

The tribe has spoken. It's time for you to go…

    • Damn all my orders got cancelled!

  • +2

Thank you but not convinced (yet)

1000 lumens for 4 hours is pretty good. Most will just throttle after a few minutes.

    • Chinese Lumens that is.,

  • +7

Here’s the search link to find local stock. Not many near me, only 15 at Nth Launceston and none at Kings Meadows.

    • +1

Thanks, was borderline but with nothing near me the decision has been made.

      • You’re moving interstate? Big call, but there is always the straw that broke the camel’s back

    Thanks for posting op.

  • +1

    Ordered. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Thanks op. Ordered. Wanted something small like this for a while for early morning trail walking/running with the dog

  • +1

    $14.25 with Powerpass….

  • Hopefully it's not price error

  • I really hate Bunning's delivery service. They'll deliver to the suburb next to mine, but refuse to go an extra 10 minutes.

    • +2

Well, that would be an extra 10 minutes each way. At minimum wage that would be about $6-$7 extra on what ever it is already costing, plus running costs for the vehicle.

There is a limit to free stuff. Especially if the product was only $15 in the first place.

  • +1

    Ordered, thanks OP

  • Oos for delivery

  • +1

    Don't see any availability

Dear customer, your order has been cancelled due to no stock. Please allow a few days for the refund to appear in your bank account. We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you. Rgds Nadia Bunnings Alexandria 0293362400. Please do not reply.😢

    • Unlucky mate. Sometimes it happens when it's not enough stock and two people order at the same time.

      • +1

Thanks. The highs and lows of Ozbargain, and I only have at least 15 other torches that I bought because of OB. How will I ever get by?

        • 15?! I better shut up and stop overthinking my 4 torches.
          ordered

    • +1

Same here, order got cancelled but not even an email was sent. Just got notice from paypal and realise the order is cancelled. Cancelling is fine, but not happy with the way they did it.

    • Nadia Bunnings replied? I didn’t realise it was a family business. Cool!

    • Lol, I bought the last one this morning from Alexandria #sorrynotsorry

  • No Bunnings within 20km of me have this in stock :(
