I've used this torch for more than 5 years, rechargable battery continues to recharge on the supplied charger. It is my go to torch and you can get TWO delivered for just over $20, now thats a bargain.

    • $5 off with eBay Plus vouchers. The real deal is in the comments!

I had the 2 cell version of this, but think i blew the LED after trying to put 2 harvested cells from a dyson battery pack in there :/

      • why would it blow?

      900000Lumens!

"the power of the sun in the palm of my hands"

      • Why didn't they just go for the "1 MILLION lumens" marketing, I wonder

        • Why didn't they just go for the "1 MILLION lumens" marketing

May be they didn't want to mislead people :D

    • thanks I ordered one - don't currently have eBay+ but still a good deal I reckon!

    • This seems like a better deal. Can't see from the eBay listing: Is this 18650 or 26650?

    • Woah. Great battery. It is quite warm after 5 years?

    • As a true OzBargainer I have made an offer, now we wait!

    • These lights are so cheap that if you buy batteries from Sofirn they send the batteries inside these lights.

  • Order 1 from two different stores saying they had stock only to get refunded no stock available.

  • Ordered from Pimpama store in QLD but order got cancelled. Was told there is no stock in any QLD store.

I find Energizer torches to be unreliable due to quick battery drain. To prevent this, I have to frequently remove the batteries which is a nuisance. In comparison, my Aldi high beam light requires less recharging and has a stronger beam without the inconvenience

  • +4

I found stock at my local store. It's not on the shelf with the other Energizer flashlights but rather on the shelf legs spread out down the aisle.

It's also worth checking above the shelves as I could see some still boxed up since the API reports my store has ~45 and there weren't 45 along the shelves.

    • Thanks for the feedback. I marked it as out of stock because people are complaining that there isn't any stock left. Most probably there are few left. It's up to the individual to hunt them down.

      • I discovered there's a 1200lm version for $30 that was only added 3 days ago and the stock doesn't show up in the API yet.

        • Maybe wait a bit, they might drop the price further.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: I suspect it's the replacement of the 1000lm.

            • @Clear: I believe so too. Before posting I couldn't find a lot of retailers selling the 1000lm. So I suspect it's an discontinued item.

  • +4

I am passing as I don't need this and cause like inflation.

Stop buying crap you don't need people.

  • +1

Tried to order it from 2 stores yesterday, both cancelled within 30 minutes with the exact same messages of out of stock..

Decided to reorder with delivery and it arrived at my door at 7:01am this morning.. 😅

  • +2

I got a call saying they have run out of stock, but are willing to subtitute for a Swiss Tech one..

First time I've had this offer.. usually i get an out of stock email.

  • Thanks OP, I picked up the tactical version with the replaceable batteries (also $15), found it through your post!

  • Must resist. Anyone into nite ize inova x series torches? I have a couple x2’s and would recommend them!

  • +3

I ordered two and my local phoned to say sorry no stock so we've substituted it for the more expensive 1200lm one - thanks Hammer Barn!

    • That's definitely a win!!

      • +1

Turns out they are the Energizer TAC R 1200 Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight version with bonus crenelations for bopping bad guys with.

        • Good on them, they gave you a really good upgrade.

  • No Free delivery with OnePass?
Its coming up as $10 for delivery for me.

    • +1

Need to spend $80 at Bunnings for 'free' delivery with OnePass.

      • The $10 delivery fee kills it for me.

  • +1

    Got one. Thanks OP!

    • How, its telling oos

      • Guess it depends on the store. My local was/is still showing as 'in stock'.

  • +1

Have used the battery versions. The led l, light color, the brand name and Bunnings is a no brainer.

  • +1

Order cancelled ,no stock apparently. Oh well, you win some you lose .Thanks for the post anyway OP.

  • +1

    Ordered, thanks OP

  • Hmm. My order is “ready to collect” but it’s showing an Ironhorse 1000 Lumen torch. Any idea whether I should just cancel?

Bit crappy just to swap without asking.

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ironhorse-1000-lumen-rechargeabl…

    • +1

When you get there ask for the 1200lm energizer as a replacement. That way you for sure get an upgrade.

      • Will give it a try.

  • OOS both CC & Delivery for me

  • Checked this morning and my local had 15, figured what's therush, ill grab it this avro. Just went down now and stock says 3 but there are none to be found, the Ozbargain vultures had well and truly struck….

    The ozbargainer that snoozes loses

    • +4

I did put a reminder for people not to be greedy. But you know how it rolls…

  • -2

Bought 3. They were on the side aisle. Bonus was that it can be used as a battery bank. The manual says the rechargeable battery is 26650mAH lithium ion. Seems pretty good to me.

    • I think the 26650 refers to the rechargeable battery type and not the mAH.

The Energizer website doesn't provide battery capacity that I can see, however it does state 'Powerful light even after a full smartphone charge*' - *Light must be turned off while charging. Based on an average smartphone battery of 1810 mAh capacity. If the battery was 26650mAH i think they would claim can charge your phone 10x on a single charge. At best I would suggest this battery is 5000mAH.

      https://www.energizer.com/lighting/vision-hd-performance-met…

      • Yes sorry you are right. It can’t be 26000mAH.

        • +1

26000mAH torch would be a house brick with an LED strapped to it…

  • -1

hahaha. Yikes. What is with these RRP of mass produced crapola. They are so 'maronic'.

  • +4

Energizer 2000 lumen battery operated torch is on clearance for $20. 0385740. Blackwoods online store sells it for $117.

    • I can't find anything online with Energizer 2000 lumen. It appears the 2000 lumen it's available only in USA.

        • Probably it's an instore only. I can't find it on Bunnings website or stock levels with article number. Do you know if it's reduced nationwide?

      • Also following, my 1000 arrived this morning and is pretty good for $15. Wouldn't mind spending $5 more for double the power..

        • It's a bit different, it's powered by 9AA batteries. It has different features. I posted it as a deal. Thanks again Applause.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: Saw that, I have a bunch of random new ones I need to get rid off, and then get around to opening the Eneloops.. 🤣

My order of the $15 tacticool one was cancelled. Wasn't really after the tactical-ness of it, but more so the use of the 6AA's.. 😅

Should be good as a lender torch.

    • Thanks just got one at my local $19 with PowerPass.

    • Can you post stock levels in Melbourne

    • +2

      Hardly worth a neg vote.

Like 10920 clicks and the deal is 14 hours old.

      • -1

Clicks dont make it a bargain if there is not stock and bunnings stock levels are unreliable and its has bad reviews

        • +4

Plenty of stock when it was posted. You showing up late doesn’t make it neg worthy.

          • @Lou Sarsol: Bunnings not honouring the deal in many cases
            I neg them not you

        • +2

          bunnings stock levels are unreliable

If this forms part of your neg, that doesn't make sense considering you have posted many Bunnings deals in the past.

  • +4

Made a couple of attempts here and wasn't successful. Made a click and collect at my local store, then went there after work but before the order was ready to pickup as there was only 5 in stock. Got there and were none left, so went home and managed to make a click and collect order in north canberra, the only other canberra store that any stock (also 5). North canberra cancelled the order as no stock so awaiting refund, but my local store actually texted me that they had given me an alternative that was at a higher price ($36), and I could call them for a refund instead. I ended up getting the Iron Horse 1000lm instead for the same $15 so pretty happy! No recharging other devices, but it takes usb c to charge the 18650 and also comes with a 3 AAA holder so you can use AAAs instead if you can't charge for some reason. Also has a second cob light on the side of the torch that has white and red modes. Only downside is it doesn't make any claims re water resistance. Still for $15 looks pretty good.

  • +1

hopefully got the last one at box hill. Not holding breath!

  • Have you guys started to charge the torch? Mine was charged for more than 8 hours (as stated in manual) but it never turned into green light (as stated by other users), it turned to solid red light which I presumed it is fully charged.

The torch was good, solid and robust, especially good given this price point.

I prefer this than the smaller Wuben one C3, the 1000 lumen for 4 hours is quite impressive, the Wuben one will do 1200 lumen for 15min - 30mins before it gets very hot.

  • +1

Just grabbed one at the "North Launceston" store. I think she said the computer was showing six in stock (minus the one I got) but now the website says it is out of stock.

  • -2

    Bought and paid for one
    Cancelled now days later
    Now wait for refund
    Boooo

  • +3

I got upgraded to the tac-r 1200 for free

    • +1

      Awesome!! Good result. Enjoy.

  • I received my order today.
But they have sent out the Energizer TAC 1000 (red packaging) that uses standard 6 x AA batteries..
Not the silver rechargeable/USB out version..

Now waiting for customer service to call me back..
Also.. funnily enough, the item link no longer exisits.. lucky I took a screenshot of the item last night..

Annoyed I opted to get it delivered rather than driving the 15 mins to buy from the store that showed plenty in stock at the time!! :(

    • +2

Most probably it got Ozbargained. I would ask for an upgrade since they stuffed up. Be firm but polite and you shall receive.

      • Thank you for the tip.
for the record, which is the upgraded model? And do they stock it?

of course… I shall be polite. nothing but! ;)

        • Energizer TAC-R 1200 is what I ended up with :)

          • @Soapdroid: Humm.. Checking the Bunnings website, they only seem to have the "Energizer Tac 600lm" when it comes to rechargeables.. TAC-R 1200 model doesn't seem to show up on their webesite..

There of course is the "Energizer 1000 Lumen Rechargeable USB Area Lantern" at $139.. Trying to get upgraded to that may require more than politeness. :)

            • @Chadsta: Energizer TAC-R 1200 isn't on their website but it's what I had substituted as well and I'm happy with it.

            • @Chadsta: It might be worth ringing them as well. I dealt with staff over the phone

        • If you go instore, go and have a look what's available there. Choose something that has similar or even better features than the one you have ordered.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: Customer Support was pretty disappointing.
They said they were out of stock, and hence substituted it with a "similar' product.
I was like, the products are chalk and cheese, the only commonality is the brand!
They suggested that I ring around and see which stores have stock, and then call the store I purchased from and ask them to contact the store with stock.
I refused to call around to look for stock. They took my details, and said they will get the store to contact me today. this was at 12:30, and have not heard back from them yet.
Don't know if I can be bothered arguing.
But hey.. I am working from home, and it is relatively quiet. I need some amusement.

            • +1

@Chadsta: That's very disappointing. Hopefully the issue gets resolved.

              • +1

                @Scrooge McDeal: Quick Update.

The store manager called me. And apologised for sending a different item. Told me that they substituted it as the one i ordered was not available. Gave me two options.
                1. Keep what I received and receive a full refund. (free non rechargeables torches)
                2. the store manager will try to chase up the correct model from different stores.
                I opted for option #2.
He called me back in half hour saying none are available. But in the meantime, I had used the link in the description to see which stores had stock. I advised that the Burnie store was showing 15+.
                He said he'll check again.
Called back in half hour to say my order will be sent from the Burnie store.
                —————-<weird voice> 72 Hours Laterrrrr </weird voice>—————-
Correct item TAC-R 1000 torches received.
Didn't score a better model, but scored free non rechargeable torches too. As I do not need to return them.
                :)

                • @Chadsta: That was a fair outcome, considering the inconvenience you went through. That's a win!!

  • +1

    Picked up mine.
    Very happy with the torch.
Suprisingly lights up my backyard at night.
Regret not buying another one. Could have set them up as cheap spotlights in the backyard with a DIY mount and usb charger in the roof

    • They get very hot after a while. I wasn't sure mine was fully charged or not so I left it on for about 5 minutes and when I came back it was really hot. I had to wait another 10 minutes or so for it to cool down before charging it again.

      • Mine never got hot. Left it to charge overnight
You may have a faulty one

        • It didn't get hot while charging. I meant it got hot when I turned the light on for 5 minutes (I wanted to drain the battery a bit so I could test to see if it was charging properly).

          • @videoman: I've had my 1200 lumen version on full power in my engine compartment for the past hour while I'm changing an alternator. It's still not hot

  • +1

Was contacted by the store last week to tell me stock wasn't available and i could wait. Told them i'm happy to wait for as long as it takes.

Forward to today and i get a call telling me they're giving me different torches at no extra charge. Ended up getting Two * Energizer Tac-R 1200's instead. Not sure if better or the same, either way a good result.
