    I like some cheap hoes

To think that some ungrateful folk actually complain about the amount of kink, or them not handling it well when they get run over by cars…

Exactly and this is a Light duty garden hose, what did people expect? I think it's good price at 50% off.

Sometimes though there's a bit too much kink, and then you can't get your hose to work.

The strength isn't in the length, it's the worth in the girth.

Beaut, I was about to buy it this week, glad I held off!

  • I used $10 disposable one but it looks like unable to handle the water pressure here, as it expanded to twice thickness as it used to be!

    • +2

      Double the flow. Bonus!

    • +1

I don't think you will get complaints with twice the thickness

    Finally a hose deal again

  • Perfect. Needed to clean away a lot of blood recently.

Hello Neighbour. Thought it was you hosing down under your car at 2am recently. How's Jeff? Haven't seen him for a couple days. Anyway, give him my regards. Let me know if you need a hand or need my pressure washer for your driveway.

      • Funny enough I have story that's goes along those lines.

    • -1

      Clean blood? What happened?

      • Had a period. Or a bloody poo. Dysentery. Maybe an anal fissure.

Can confirm this is a good one, havent tried the blue in full sun but i've known alot of hoes in my time.

  • What does light duty mean? Is it lighter than normal garden hoses?

    • It means it has low resistance to burst pressure and very little reinforcement to limit kinking, hence the low 8yr guarantee. Basically the bottom tier. Okay if you you don't use the hose much and are happy to replace it regularly. Personally I'd buy better quality but depends on your circumstances and tolerance levels.

  • Can any experienced caravaners comment on the best food grade hose to use? Preferably one with the least plastic taste!

    • Just buy any of them that say they are for drinking water. If they say they are food grade then they shouldn't have a plastic taste, not after you flush it out for a bit with running water the first time you use it/if it has been stored for awhile. I've used several different food grade hoses in my time on the road and never had a plastic taste in the water unless I was using a water bladder.

These days I just use a small cheap hose from bunnings that winds into a nice compact case. It's not advertised as food safe, but I don't notice any bad taste in the water. If you are only using it to fill your tanks, I can't think of any reason not to go down this route. If you are more the caravan park type and will be hooked up to mains often, I think any of the ones advertised as food grade/drinking water should do.

      • Thanks. Interestingly I bought one from Aldi yesterday that said it met Aus standards but no where did it actually say ‘food grade’

        • Looks like most of the drinking water ones sold. I'm pretty sure I've had that exact kit in the past, just not from Aldi. The only issue I can see is the length. Ten metres is long enough for most caravan parks, but I've been to many campgrounds and showgrounds and a couple of caravan parks where you need 15-20m minimum. One paid campground in Broome I couldn't even get close with 20m.

  • Do have be catholic to use it ?

    • No, this hose is uncircumcised…

  • Virginia Bunnings has the 18m for 19.89 but doesn’t have the 15m on sale

Check for what it scans for. Most probably they didn't update ticket.
