  • Looks pretty good,im thinking of buying it. The previous one last year has a briggs and stratton motor.
My current old mower has a briggs and stratton motor still going strong after 17 years. Wheels falling off so need new one.

Can always replace the wheels. But if you want a replacement, i'd reccomend Masport President with the 850 commercial B&S. I've seen them used on Gumtree for $300-$400.

FYI The bunnings one for $250 (often less) has very good reviews and has a briggs & stratton motor.

Bunning's one within this price range wouldn't be able to have self-propelled. Nowadays, less and less self-propelled petrol mower. I've been look for a low price range mower in Bunnnings without luck.

      • Oh yeah, no way! Sorry I didn’t notice that point.

    • Doesn't mean much, I'd only get their USA made ones, doubt your getting one at $250 or less.

    • link?

Went the cheetah from bunnings.. it's an animal

  • How does compare to the battery operated one? I would assume the petrol one is more powerful.

    40l vs 60l here

5 year warranty on the electric one too

    • Petrol mowers last longer (if you look after it) and more power.

    • Horses for courses. Battery ones are fine for small yards and mowing regularly. My 36v struggles with SWB sometimes on low spots but not enough for me to ditch it(it is effortless on couch and kikuyu nature strips). It is also very convenient and I can mow about 100sqm on 2X 4ah batteries easily

On the other hand, I will have to hire or buy a petrol mower when I want to scalp/scarify my lawn post winter, electric just wont have the power

  • Any way to check which stores will have this item?

    • No !

      • Thanks mate. Bought one yesterday :)

  • is Self-propelled worth it to replace my victa 18v electric mower. It's do the job alright, just a bit tired push it around lol

    • Yes, I thought it was a gimmick until I used it on a Rover I got from Costco. Pushing it without the self-propelled mechanism on means you're pushing the entire mower blades around as well as the mower itself. As such, it's much harder to push than a standard mower where you're just pushing the weight of the mower on free wheels.

  • I bought a 139cc 4 stroke one aprox 6-7 years ago. Still starts first go. I change the oil every 2 years. Same spark plug, runs well…
A bit of rust where the catcher connects to the base but who cares

  • I wonder if the side discharge panel can be removed? I keep my mower in the garage so the narrower the mower (ie. without side discharge) the less space it occupies.

    • The side discharge is removable otherwise there would be no need for a catcher.

    • A bit off topic but if you are looking for a good mower with space saving in mind check out Toro's smart stow mower. Cost would be significantly higher but has its perks and is a really good mower.

      • I've got a Toro and everything is good on it except the height adjustment which is horrendous. For that single reason I won't ever get another.

        • Is it because you need to adjust each individual wheel?

          • @delfredo: It is extremely difficult to move the lever up X 4.

I thought maybe I got a dud but CHOICE gives the same height adjustment score of 20% for every Toro they've tested. 70% or 80% is the score for most of the other lawnmowers.

      • Looks great I like it but not the >$1k price tag.

  • @Richmond Tigers

  • CHOICE like a Ferrex but the 21" MS225-53E.

  • Needs to be a way to find what aldi has stock left online 😢

  • I just bought this mower. It doesn't ship with oil. Normally you get a bottle of oil in box to fill, I know all mowers are shipped dry but this is annoying not supplying a bottle of oil.

    • I started it up and its quite loud compared to my old briggs and stratton mower.

  • Is there anyone who bought this mower that has any opinions on it yet?
