Anyone know if these last longer than a year¿

Heard stories about the short life of these type of batteries.

  • when is a good time to replace? how many mins per charge should you get?

  • my v7 battery is dead, perfect timing for these deals. hope they last enough time

I would just buy a Dyson original (in fact I did buy and it works really well). Have been burnt a few times by no name batteries.

  • Unrelated but bought a 9500mAH V6 version just recently for 35.50 on ebay. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/184713366854

An Ozito 4Ah battery retails at an average of $48, which works out about $12 per Ah or about $5 per 18650 cell. This is about the lowest consistent price for good 18650 cells in Aus.

If you see a generic battery like this that uses more cells in series, with a higher stated capacity, and significantly lower price, you can be very confident the cells are not up to spec i.e. fake. Do not buy.

  • It’s a lottery with these. Bought one off eBay recently that outright doesn’t work in Max mode and has lost most of its suction in regular mode that it thinks it jammed even though the brush and pipe are clear.

  • I share the same thoughts others have posted - bought non-original replacement battery, worked for about 3 months then stopped…. Not worth the saving if you get 3 months instead of say 3 years of use (from my experience).

  • Any good deals on the charger? According to Dyson chat, mine stopped working because the charger is dead. Not sure how they knew it's not the battery but willing to have a go.

  • Would this battery still allow the vacuum to be placed into the Dyson wall-mounted dock?

    • yes its same size as original battery

I would not bother with replacing the Dyson batteries, either way you will be disappointed by the short duration.

Best thing I’ve done is buying an adapter to work with my power tool batteries (Ozito in my case) and I’ve found that even the 2ah Ozito battery outlasts the original Dyson by a mile. Very handy as I’ve got a couple of spares charged in garage.

Here’s an example of eBay store selling the kind of adapters https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/314186423637?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…
