PlayStation 5 Bundle with Trade in of Switch + Any 2 Switch Games: PS5 + God of War $599, PS5 + 2x Controller $639 @ EB Games

136

Deal is only available in-store and expires on 15/02.
This deal will obviously not suit everyone when compared to the $819 deals, but if you have an old, run down Switch to get rid of, it works out pretty well.
OLED Switch trades for an extra $100 off the above prices.
Unfortunately the you have to speak to staff for the full terms and conditions. I was told by one store the games had to be worth more than $10 trade in value, so I went to another store who took my cheap trade-bait games without question.
I traded my launch model Switch, NBA 2k18 and Street Power Football, plus a original 500gb PS4 ($102) which reduced the price of the 2x controller pack to $486.81 after my level 4 20% was applied.

i've never done trade ins before but does the condition of the switch matter, or does it just need to be in working condition and it's fine with a bunch of scratches and dings?

    • +1

I'm not too sure on cosmetics sorry because mine was in pretty good shape, but all they did was test it turned on and the controllers connected. They didn't test for Joycon drift though.
You also need to have every little bit that came with the console including the dock, wrist straps and HDMI cable.

"You also need to have every little bit that came with the console including the dock, wrist straps and HDMI cable."

I was in line a few weeks ago behind a guy trading in his switch. Console and joycons only, turned on and played fine and was offered $70 trade in value. Was expecting a scoff and a walk out but the guy handed over the switch without batting an eye. Unbelievable.

most people are npc dum dums around trade-ins… you'd easily get way more just gumtreeing it…

        • Probably stolen.

        • 🤦 wish I was behind him, I would of cut in and offered $150

Not really worth it unless you have a really shitty old switch console IMO - the opportunity cost if you want to get another Switch would be a lot more than a couple hundred bucks, particularly with how popular the console continues to be these days.

Edit - that being said, if you has a fairly old Switch that was on it’s last legs this would be a good deal. Just not sure how many of us are in that position at the moment.

Surely the OzzyB method is to bother with the hassle of eBay and sell the Switch for actual shekels, then buy discounted Ultimate gift cards and get the PS5 at JB?

Trade-ins are easy no-fuss ways to get rid of games but other than trading in the minimum value games on those ‘2 trade in = $49 new game’ it’s rarely a good deal. But maybe OP and others value the time saved and not having to list their items much higher than the lower value they got than private sales 🤷🏻‍♂️

        hassle of eBay

Not much of a hassle. Ebay has pre-filled ads and postage options to literally pick the package from your house. Driving to ebgames only to get shortchanged is more of a hassle.

If you do have an old switch, it can be software Modded for games/homebrew, they do hold some value.

  • -3

Can I trade in my old switch that’s been banned ?

    • probably, they don't usually do tests on the console when taking it in

    • How'd you get it banned?

    • You may get blacklisted

    • +6

      Your moral compus concerns me.

    • I'm sure they wouldn't check but you'd get good money for a moddable serial numbered switch on ebay

      • Banned and moddable aren't the same though.

Going by previous trade in deals, EB World Level bonuses are eligible for these deals too. If you're level 4 you'll get a 20% additional trade in value so the GOWR bundle is $547.81 and the 2 controller bundle is $588.11 for those that are level 4.

I don't see the deal in this. Personally I've got a PS4 Pro and an old Switch. To me having two different platforms is worth more than having just a PS5, especially given how often the kids play Mariokart, Splatoon etc…

    • 250 looks low for a switch however cash converter sells that for around this price. An used switch is not worth that much and If you are level 4 the deal is good.

    • I didn't say it's a great deal for everyone. My Switch was on its last legs, had Joycon drift and was slowing down. I'd rather sell it to EB games for $300 than sell something in that condition to some unknowing person who could have just spent $80 more for a brand new one. For the record, I listed it on Marketplace for $300 and didn't get a nibble that wasn't a scammer. Most are listed for $250 around my area.
An OG Switch has no value to me when I've also got an OLED one and a Lite.
I can appreciate that it's not a deal for you, but for some specific people it may be.

      • Yeah, people who are saying this is a bad think and used switch is worth $400 lol.

  • +10

This is a shit deal from EB.
Can get more value selling second hand

    • +1

Depends. If you are level 4 or 5, it actually is a decent deal.

    • +1

Unless you are level 4. In this case they are paying 300 for your switch what is pretty good.

  • +12

Trade in a 1995 Ford Focus, a house in Western Sydney, three chickens and a DVD boxset of the hit TV series Sliders for a Playstation 5 @ E.B.

    • +9

      Plus $599

    • You must have been to cash converter.

  • +1

2 games…That seems like a good deal. Wait….AND MY SWITCH. Lol. No thanks.

    • +2

It doesn't need to be yours…

      • Oh yeah….

  • +1

    But Zelda is coming!

  • +2

I traded my launch model Switch

I would have kept it or sold privately.

Those lower unpatched serial number Switches actually have good resell value due to being able to mod them.

Add 2 games, and that's actually a terrible trade in deal from EB.

    • I (up until recently) used to flip unpatched switches to make a lil extra money.
You can get around $360-400 for a complete with dock+charger one.
I think in the future they'll be worth more as more people are competing to resell them, so more supply is being distributed to people who will use+keep them. So there is a lack of supply at "cheap" prices

  • Bwahaha EB trying to make profit hey ?. Yeah Nah..

    • +3

They are paying 300 bucks for a switch+ 2 shit games If you are level 4. What else do you want.

      • +1

Businesses aren't allowed to make money >:((

  • -2

    I don’t have a switch mate.

  • can someone teaches math to EB Games

    • The problem is not about how to math, but how to make attractive products (for ozbargainers)

      • it's not attractive for the price

  • An ‘old’ v1 switch sells for around $400 if it’s unpatched

  • Switch is better… It is weird deal.

  • Giving away a Switch and 2 games for $220 off a PS5 sounds like a terrible deal

    • Your math skills sucks…How come did you get $220??

  • You can sell a switch for way more than that

    • Have you checked your marketplace? Heaps of switchs for 300.

      • +1

Yeah, a few months ago I tried selling for $250 with so many scammers and low ballers messaging me so not sure why everyone made it sound like $250-300 is such an easy sale for a Switch right now.

        • Sold my switch with 1 game just today for $350

I had the original box and it was just like new though

          • @Aerith-Waifu: How long did you have it listed and were there a lot of time wasters contacting you at all?

          • @Aerith-Waifu: Which game btw?
