I came here for a discussion about this device being able to enlarge my thang….. Left disappointed

I just use my ego 56v blower i use for gardening, works great! Before that used my plugin electric Ryobi one which cost $79, also did perfectly fine!

I use the same thing when washing two cars but when I blow dry car one and move onto the second car, the first car gets covered in dirt. Then I blow car one again but car two gets dirty. It's more of a mystery than these damn weather balloons.

this is pretty useful for blowing your big boi

Do these work? I'm not sold! Seems faster with towel drying!

    • I guess probably good from getting water out from gaps and coated cars where the water can bead off easily. Probably eliminates swirls a towel could give also.

I use Bowdens Big Green Sucker towel and it does a great quick job. I usually will take the car for a hot lap to the closest roundabout and back just to get a lot of the water off, then the towel is super quick. Still works good when the car is drenched but i found it easier and quicker when its not.

    • in my experience blowers work best in those areas where different panels meet… the gaps are where water pools and drains off.

fantastic for areas like plastic grills

      • Plastic grills. Side mirrors. And those vent /trim pieces on front fender all leak water, no matter how much I dry with a towel.

Bowdens BGS with Boss Gloss to dry and this to push out water in those awkward places.

Then another wipe over with Bowdens Bead Machine.

Tried using my little Ryobi One+ garage blower (the small one, not the garden blower) to dry off my motorbike after a full detail/wash and two 4.0 Ah batteries later is still have residual water dripping.
Our local water is super hard and water stains are relentless.

Yeah, its another appliance to pull out and plug in….but, at $185….yeah, bachelor toys.

Not sure I'd pay $250 for it

  • Is this very loud? Can I use this to dry my dog?

    • This thing is literally an expensive pet dryer. You can get pet dryers much cheaper from eBay, Amazon or wherever.

  • I use a blower for my car as well, a metro vac one though not Big boi. If you look at the size of the nozzle, you can see that the surface area of air coming out is quite small. Results will vary on how clean your car is, there's a high dependency on the state of how hydrophobic your paint is. I quickly blow the mirrors, door handles, front grill, then dry with a microfibre towel, then go back and blow those areas again for any remaining water.

    Pros
    - Great for touchless drying wheels. If you're like me I don't wash wheels every wash so there's always some dust on there that would ruin my microfibre towels.
    - You an address water in the areas a towel can't reach, the ones that usually cause streaks which can lead to water spots
    - Can be used to dry pets, and also things like bikes which have a lot of spots a towel can't reach.
    - You can use it to blow dirt and crumbs out from under the car seats and tight spots a vacuum can't reach. Obviously you have to vacuum it up afterwards though. Also handy to blow out dirt and leaves from all the water channels in the doors, boots, of a car that hasn't been maintained.

    Cons
    - Won't dry your car faster than a big microfibre towel
    - A bit of a learning curve because the air will push the water in to a radial pattern, not just the direction you are pointing
    - It's loud, despite what the marketing says
    - It's another thing you need to bring out when washing your car.

    • also dirt/sand getting into the intake = sandblasting your car paint.

some might care about intake filters

      • They should have a foam intake filter

        • agree. i have a metro vac as well… just thought to expand on that to mention for people who care about the paintjob might want to look out for intake filters.

those that don't care much and are happy with just a new leaf blower and that's okay too.

        • i bought the mini + today and they have a foam intake filter

    • I wall-mounted the BlowR Mini Plus and got the 9m hose upgrade. Totally worth it in terms of noise level as well as no need to bring the unit around.

      • Yea the further away you can keep the unit from your ears the better. Sounds like a nice setup, I'd love to do the same one day.

        • i suggest wearing ear plugs whenever operating such machines… Tinnitus is forever.

  • just in time for Mardi Gras

$250 for a blower is insane. It's $25 to manufacture.

    • kindly manufacture and sell them for $25.50, with the same quality. i'll order 10 from you.

      • -2

Here's a better unit from a big brand that regularly discounted to $55.

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/384399946055?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

You can then find the generic non branded knock offs of this for $45.

        See? $250 is for fools.

        • do you have trouble reading and understanding my requirements? i said same quality.

your linked product has no filter. so you are confirming you have NFI what you are talking about and just talking outside your area of expertise. even when the area of expertise requires rudimentary understanding of feature comparison.

right. 0 value contribution to the discussion.

          • -1

@slowmo: 'filter' lol, a fabric mesh that you can attach to the insert with a rubber band?

Come on dude, the Bosch and other devices are better and cheaper, hence my original post.

  • fyi Repco QLD have a sale on at the moment if you buy and have an RACQ card you can get the 9m version for $239.20. Sorry not sure about the other states around AUS.

    https://www.repco.com.au/en/car-care-panel/power-cleaning/va…

    • Same price in WA….except zero stock available and can't order for delivery.

  • I thought blowjobs were cheaper, guess it because of Covid…
