I got on the bandwagon recently after reading comments for years and loved it.The fact that you can save the excess duck fat is a bonus.

Should I heat up the duck in oven with the duck fat first? or save the excess duck fat first before heating it up?

  • Looks good, thanks OP :)

  • Thanks OP 👍

duck breasts are used in restaurants so a lot of demand and pricey, so this is a great was for them to use other parts ……minimal waste.

      • +1

In a few years it will be human breasts. I know my milkshakes still bring all the boys to the yard

How do I prepare these if they're already cooked? Would people just microwave them or heat them up in the oven?

    • +3

I heat them up in the oven. Instructions are on the packaging.

    • +2

      As above.

      Air Fryer.

(crispier and faster than regular oven).

  • Can I use this to make BBQ Roast duck?

    • It's already cooked but there's no reason you can't use the same spices when twice cooking it.

  • thanks op, been waiting for this

  • That's what you get for coming in my lemonade stand.

  • Thanks OP! Just stocked up. I'll be eating duck all week. 😟

  • Can you freeze these? And any recommendations for a sauce you can buy that would go well with these?

    • +3

No need to freeze, already cooked, vacuum-packed and will keep in the fridge for months.

They're already coming with great sauce - duck fat.

You'll need some veggies or grains (roast potatoes, carrots, rice, etc.) to soak that fat.

Time to stock Up again. Usually get 5 at each special.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Picked up 6. BBD 13/07/23

    • I don't know if five months is enough time to decide what to do with them. Must be why they are on special.

keep waiting for the duck breasts to have another half price special (bought 10 packs last time and froze them), The confit is very regular but the breast specials are rare. Nothing better than searing the skin side of breast in the frying pan then putting them in the oven for 8 mins. sprinkled with a little salt and chilli, serve with a smidgen of caramelized vinegar and it is to die for.

  • Yum yum!

    Ingredients
Duck (98%), Marinade (Salt, Dextrose, Emulsifiers (451,452,450), Food Acid (330), Vegetable Gum (415), Vegetable Powders, Yeast Extract, Natural Flavour).

    Thanks OP.

Our local WW hadn't even put out the half price tags yet when I got there yesterday. What was amusing though was this elderly couple literally loading up their trolley. OB'ers def come in all ages!

  • I've found these a bit disappointing, maybe I prepared it wrong.

We grilled the legs until the skin was browned. I found it a bit dry and chewy, and not that flavoursome. Apart from the duck fat, there's also meat juices around the legs, which tends to hinder crisping and threatens to burn.

I do love a good duck confit, and find it pretty variable in restaurants as well.

  • I couldn't find this product in Tassie :(

  • My WW hadn't put out the half price tags at 5pm yesterday. Still scanned out at 1/2 price.

  • Hi guys, I still see this price in my Everyday Rewards app under Favourites, does that mean it's still half price? Apparently ends 28 Feb?

    • Can confirm it was available in my local today.

      • Which area are you in? I went to my local at Newmarket in Victoria and the lady said it was not 50% off unfortunately. I even got them to scan my everyday rewards card as I thought it was specific to my card

        • Sydney

          • @gadget: OK, that explains it. Interesting that my Everyday Rewards account is flagging it for me. Thanks for letting me know
