are people going to get offended by this as well ?

    • +5

      Yes

    • +5

I think we need to boycott it.

Come to think of it boycott is an interesting word to use by the people who are trying to cancel Harry Potter. Maybe they should change it to identifyasaboycott

      • +2

The alphabet people are gonna downvote you for this one, alphabet people also love bargains, so there are alot here.

        • +11

          Who doesn't love bargains. 😕

Also probably not a lot of Google employees here.

        • +2

Damn the alphabet people got you too.

Personally I think they should upvote me. I'm trying to change clearly sexist words into more neutral words.

Like the suburb Manly, we should change to Neutral Bay. O wait we already got that suburb. Well "Neutrally" then.

@MrMoo: In a thread completely devoid of people complaining about JK Rowling, you realise you look just as dumb as the protestors bringing up these tired tropes?

            • +2

@Hinee: No, it highlights how silly the world is getting .. people getting offended by nonsense things

            • @Hinee: To be fair I was replying to someone who brought it up, but i'm just trolling. I get your point too.

        • What about betabet people?

      • +9

        /r/OneJoke material, this

    • -6

I refuse to buy the game, but JK gets no money from the guide book, so it's already in my cart.

      • -1

What are you so easily offended ?

        • -1

          Stalker much. Get a life

          • -1

@Moventura: Oh hey, a new type of imaginary victimhood you can claim to have this week. Good for you, buddy.

            • -1

@infinite: You came back to a month old post. Must feel good to punch down on someone with mental issues. Good for you.

              • -1

@Moventura: Which mental issues are you pretending to have today ?

Do game guides really have a purpose now everyone has internet?

    • +6

      Yes, big yes.

The formatting is superior to any website, as is the ability to navigate through the book. It also has no ads or any other bullshit.

The information is presented in meaningful ways and is visible in "one go", rather than having to scroll around, click links back and forth, examine a basic screenshot, watch a video etc.

Checkout the BotW guide, find me an online guide that is even 1/4 as good.

I dunno, I really hate online guides.

      • Yeah I'd like to see a "superior paper guide" to just about any game that I've played that's required extensive wiki usage.

I guess this game probably won't ever change after release so the book will remain relevant for the most part.

Couldnt agree more! My boys LOVE the zelda and pokemon guide books we have and read them over and over (even when not playing the game). Sure, you can get all the info online and on youtube, but these are great to own and keep - especially when you love the game or series. The Breath of the Wild extended edition is AMAZING

Haven't seen a physical game guide book in so long.

I remember begging my parents to purchase Prima Games Guide Book when I was younger (before I had access to the internet).

    • +3

The cheat code books were the best. Like a dictionary for cheats.

      • +1

Those were totally cool and picking them up at newsagents and using them with GameShark and Xplorer

      • +1

I miss when cheats were a simple code/button combination.

  • +3

Thought that was the game for $18

  • +5

haha, no one would ever buy a book set in this universe

  • 176 pages seems a little thin…

    • +6

Can’t even turn to page 394

  • +2

There’s this thing called… the internet?

    • +1

There is a thing called a bookshelves that it would look nice on. I like physical things, which is why I tend to rather read a book over ebook, play a boardgame over a video game and so on.

    • I've heard it's full of muggles

    • +1

Yeah, but this one doesn't come with the screeching YouTuber yelling inane stuff over the top of the guide

  • +4

i can see ppl boycott this cos no rainbow on the cover

  • This will be super useful when I time travel to future to grab the Switch version for some on-the-go-revelio action, then swing back to the 80s for a devices free weekend getaway. Thanks op.

  • +3

The last paper game guide I used was Final Fantasy X on PS2 haha

    • Damn that's solid nostalgia. Mine was either FFX or the original Kingdom Hearts around the same time

  • thanks OP snagged 10

  • Looks like a hard core game that requires a guide?

    • +3

It is a big game with a lot to discover. A guide would be helpful for those trying to see/complete it all.

  • Are there cheat codes at the back as well?

  • +1

Missed opportunity to make it look like the marauder's map

  • RRP $42.80

That doesn't sound right. I think Amazon was just using a placeholder price until they confirmed the actual price?

    RRP Converted to AUD
    US$14.99 ~$21.70
    £12.99 ~$22.66
    14.99€ ~$23.24
