      Definitely this ;)

    • come on waifu, it's not even a contest

  • +7

This is what me want, better/on par with BPCTech! Good on you!

    • +4

      Cheers!

    • +6

Totally agree! With the inclusion of PCpartpicker. Well played. Love competition!
What's the price difference with 7700X and DDR5?

      Hurry up and Release D4!

      • +3

We’ll suss that out and get back to you!

  • +12

Nice machine, but I think Ozbargainers will want current gen parts including DDR5 for $5k. I know the 5800X3D smokes most CPUs in gaming, and DDR5 doesn't make a massive difference in most cases, but we'll see if the community likes this.

    • +11

Fair points. We were toying with a 13900 but chose the 5800X3D instead. We opted for the DDR4 as it is just better bang for buck atm. If you guys have suggestions on what you’d like to see that’s current gen, just let us know :)

      • +10

Have to agree with @locknuts - I feel the 5800X3D is the perfect swan song for those on older Ryzen CPUs pre 7000 series, but for a brand new build it's a direct dead end.

Then again so is Intel (technically) but you somewhat expect that given their tick/tock nature.

I'd probably just pay a touch extra for a 7700X build instead. Then in ~4 years whatever the new 'swan song' CPU is, drop it in!

      • +1

I know you're not wrong OP…but it still FEELS wrong haha. $5k for previous gen ram/cpu is just…odd.

        • Then in ~4 years whatever the new 'swan song' CPU is, drop it in

          maybe

      • -3

Tough part is your target market, the people who know a 5800x3d and ddr4 is more than capable are the kind of people that are gonna build themselves. This build is definitely geared towards the more money than sense market lol

      • +2

Wish list for future build, some parts haven't been released yet but have just been recently announced.

Would like to see something like this in the distant future.

        High End -

        • CPU - Ryzen 9 7900X3D or Ryzen 9 7950X3D

        • CPU Cooler - Deepcool Assassin 4 CPU Cooler or Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 360mm or equivalent

        • GPU - AMD 7900XTX or Nvidia 4080 or 4090

        • Motherboard - AM5 platform, no preference

        • Ram - 32GB DDR5, no preference

        • SSD - minimum: Western Digital WD Black SN770 roughly $79 for 500GB (read 5000MB's, write 4000MB's) equivalent or better m.2 drive.

        • Case - Any that's airflow optimised. Deepcool CH560 / Corsair 4000D / Thermaltake CTE C750/700 or CTE T500 Air etc etc etc

        • Case fans - BeQuiet! Silent Wings Pro 4 or Phanteks T30 or equivalent

        • PSU - Any that's platinum/titanium certified

        Mid Range -

        • CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

        • GPU - AMD 7900XT or Nvidia 4070Ti

        • CPU Cooler - Deepcool AK620 / Deepcool Assassin 3 or 4, Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 360 or 240

        • PSU - Any that's gold/platinum/titanium certified

Everything else same preferences as above. Main difference is the CPU and graphics card.

        • +1

Careful about the "no preference" in memory. Zen4 is very sensitive to memory performance and, while some say the 3D cache will negate that, that will only be true for games that fit the main code in the cache or do not use memory heavilly.

          • @goodwillN1: Yup I know what you mean; my wall of text would be even longer though if I listed every suitable part. Just a general list to give a rough idea. I'd also have to research specific ram kits if I did, no time 🤣

        • +4

I’m liking some of these suggestions! We can definitely look at it on the horizon. We priced this build as well as we could. We really couldn’t go lower the the parts we chose sadly. Everyone seems to want current gen but damn some of that stuff is hard to get good pricing on at a supplier level.

          • @enigmapc: Yup just fantasising about my dream build.

I think if I were to spec my own build; I'd pair the 7800X3D with a 7900XTX or 4080 (whichever is cheaper at the time) , Deepcool Assassin 4 (Air cooling over water - the AK620 and Assassin 3's were already on par or better than the more expensive Noctua D15's and BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4, so the Assassin 4's are expected to be even better) and the Deepcool CH560 case, the CES 2023 videos of the pair look really sexy.

In my head should be doable for around $3000+ and that'll be good for 4k gaming for many years. It's high end but not crazy out of reach high end.

Just bought a BTO Mac mini M2 pro at $2500 for work/everything besides gaming - so have many months of saving to go, hopefully GPU prices come down by then.

      • do you have any timeframe on the Ryzen 7950X3D and RTX 4070 hitting the Australian market?

        • Ryzen 7950X3D and 7900X3D are supposed to be available for sale on the 28th of February, which realistically means late March or April at the earliest. the 7800X3D is supposed to launch in April, again add a couple months to that, May or June.

The regular non-Ti 4070 is rumoured to launch in March or April, no confirmation on this though just online speculation.

      • Maybe a ~ $6k ultimate current gen build? Same GPU, but like a 13700k or 13900k if you could with 64GB high speed DDR5. Love the case and everything else, but at this price level you might as well go all-out.

        BPC has this: https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/kp-syber-4090-kraken-powe…

Your build already looks way better than theirs. I think this would be a great option. Other places like PCCG want like $8.5k for a build like that, so it is a bargain by comparison.

    • i got latest gen specs for 3000 with other deal on ozbargain. this one does not seem good and does not even have DDR5.. and they want more.

  • +1

what in the kidneys is this gaming pc

    • +11

Don’t forget to include the arm and the leg :)

  • +1

Absolute balls for running DDR4 clocked at 4400mhz for a pre-configured PC !

Wait, the ram is rated at 4400mhz but is the system came pre-configured to run at that speed ?

    • +7

Yep it’s pre-configured :). We tried to bring the big ones!

      • +1

So it's running at 4400MHz with the Infinity Fabric desynced?

  • Now we just need the price to come down to pre-inflated pricing. Thanks!

  • 3070 on Monday?

    • +6

      Potentially :). With a twist of course…

  • +3

This will make an excellent VR setup for DCS..

  • Can I get this without the GPU?

    • +4

We only sell completely configured builds. However, shoot us a dm and we can see what we can do :)

  • The Asus Rog Strix G18 laptop has the same GPU and similar specs. Pricing is similar

For anyone that wants power on the go (Still not as good as a full blown desktop), Asus Rog Strix G18 will do

    • It has a desktop GPU? or a slower mobile GPU? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx8H0936YdY

      • The idea of a desktop 4090 inside a laptop "on the go" made me chuckle. With the peltier cooler blasting you'd get 3 minutes of runtime, right? ;)

  • +4

Premium is not my cup of tea but happy to see a third player in mix (other two being Techfast and BPCTech).

Keep offering a mix of sensible budget, mid-range and premium builds, and you'll be a favourite here in no time.

    • +3

      That’s the plan, Stan!

  • Can I play Pacman on this? If I can afford it that is…….

    • +2

Hmm. Pac-Man may be too intensive for this. Space invaders is a go though!

      • +1

where exactly do we put the 20c coins in?

  • Any 5800X3D on their own spare at a good price?

  • Has anyone calculated if it’s worth getting this to flog off everything but the gpu

    Edit: yes me, and no

    • +1

Hasn’t been that way for at least 3 months now if not longer, I reckon gutting PCs for a profit will remain with covid times.

  • -1

Would absolutely love a 5800x3D with a 3070/ti/3080 that hits that $1300/1400/1600 range!

    • +7

That's literally the cost of the CPU+GPU alone

      • Maybe I'm dreaming and should up each build by $100-200. The BPC Tech 3070/i5-12400f deal at $1299 is close to pulling the trigger for me

Edit: I was more talking future talk in the above. With the new 3dx cards releasing soon + further drops in pricing. Not expecting those prices right now.

      • With the recent 30xx drops in the US, maybe we'll see further drops here.

Looks like your wish almost got granted

      • Yeah seems a solid deal!

  • you guys need to make more 4070

    • +4

      4070 isnt released yet.

  • +1

Bargain if I think about the 5k that was spent on a piece of shit Compaq 200Mhz PC in 1997.

    • +3

If it makes you feel any better, that $5k would be worth $9.5k now. So you actually could have had 2 of these!

    • I remember I had an ibm aptiva (I think that’s what it’s called) 75mhz for around the same price.

  • -1

7700X CPU would be better IMO, close to 5800X3D in gaming performance but will toast it in other CPU benchmarks. Also the AM5 will help in upgrading later. Building a new PC with AM4 makes no sense unless you are looking at the bottom of the barrel config to save money.

  • +3

At 5K I'd rather just build my own PC with the parts I want. Saving 220 ish on 5K and having someone else picks the parts doesn't seem worth it to me. But thank you for providing competition.

    • +2

$600 cheaper IMO… some silly parts selected in this mix.

      • Yeah that's true, also taking into account buying things over time when they are on sale, could have some savings there too.

  • Decent build, but if you are in the really high end market, personally, I'd be waiting for 7000 series x3D models.
Perhaps use a 7600 or 7700 as a placeholder if you can't wait.
Paired with decent ddr5 6000 cl30 kit or similar, it should obliterate everything.

  • +2

I feel like the 512gb ssd is a bit out of place here.

    • +1

There is an upgrade option within the builder.

    • +2

      Yeah, me too.

  • Time to update my two gtx780s I think.

  • DO you have a low-budget office machine, that can run office and chrome simultaneously :) without issues.

  • +10

The PC Part Picker list is a little price-inflated from using high speed DDR4 instead of just switching platforms entirely and getting DDR5 instead. There's also good cost savings available on getting an equivalent PSU ("A tier" platinum 1000W+) and fans instead of trying to match exactly.

Below would perform a bit better by using a 13600K instead and is still cheaper; you could also do basically the same price going for a 7700X and equivalent motherboard if upgrade path is more important than performance — and that would also outperform the 5800X3D slightly.

So it's not a bad deal given assembly costs and what have you, but it isn't beating out DIY just yet.

      • +18

It's not just about how much time I have; it's about how much I care about people having the information to make informed decisions o7

      • Well that was a botched attempt

  • -4

You know this is ozbargin, no one on here wants to spend 5 grand lmao.
People want to save 50 dollars on a GPU if they can. LOL

    • +1

Hey mate, we stated earlier in the week and in the post that this one’s meant to be a premium PC. Monday’s we’re going to be our budget builds.

      • -1

Yeah, i guess your right, i guess if the offer is there someone would take it, i can just see you selling so many more builds in the 1000-1500 dollar range.

      • -2

Great..may be an AMD option that will deliver 1080p ULTRA setting: with 30°C ambient temp. & 2 hours play.
        May be RX 6700XT 12Gb, R5 5600, WHITE case (3 INtake & 1 exit fans, mesh-front & top vents )
        Thanks again.

    • +2

Ozbargain has changed since you were last around these parts mister.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/755005

      • 5200 for a laptop, id spend that on this PC on this listing lol

  • 4080 ITX build!!

No one is doing one pre-built!!

  • Been wanting an 5800x3d for awhile now. Looks like this could be it.. but with the 7xxx3d's around the corner not sure if I should just wait a week or two for the reviews for those lol.

    • I would say the jump from 7700x to 7800x3D would be similar to 5800X vs 5800X3D. Worth it IMO if you have the latest GPUs.

  • dare to say what memory frequency/timing you are running with this?

  • So you're offering a saving of about $200 on parts and maybe $200 on assembly on an almost $5k system?

  • +1

A premium computer should have at least a 1TB SSD. But all the other component choices are sound.

  • Got anything similar deal but with Intel?

  • why do pc setups always look like a japanese male teenager? (mr sparrrrrklruuu!!)

    • ??????????????

      • neon.. techno.. many leds.. harajuku colour scheme.. ordered.. neat… new.. clean..

i prefer a pc case that emits no light/sound.. blends into the bg.. not one that attracts mozzies.. but each to their own

  • Enigma becoming the new favorite around here.

  • PNY isn’t Premium…just saying

  • Long shot, but any chance of selling the ram kit by itself (assuming you are getting a good price and can pass on some savings)? Thanks
