  • Is this 24/hr recordable?

    • -1

I believe so, because the video is recorded on an SD card.

    • +1

Probably not, as this runs on battery. For 24×7 recording has to be directly connected to power.

  • Looks awfully similar to Reolink

      Surprised Uniden is still around

  • Solar panel is optional, not included with camera

  • I got the anko $99 kmart version and to be fair its been great. Sensors work well, battery life has been 4 months so far. App works well.

    • Its wired though isn't it

    • Link to the kmart version?

    • Also keen on the link.

I've had the Bunnings brand, Orion $99 video doorbell, on battery. Battery lasts okayish, like 2ish weeks if very little auto detection or if you don't check the door much.

But my God, the app is tempremental at best. It sometimes won't connect for a minute or two after opening app. I've sort of found a way to get it to connect more consistently by opening the app manually, dragging down on devices to force the app to "rescan" in a way its already known devices and that sometimes works better. But damn, the slowness of it makes it fairly redundant. If I'm expecting a decent delivery that day, I'll usually have the app pre-opened on a spare phone running beside my vision to make sure I don't miss it.. :-/ The literally only good things are that they're hub-free and subscription-free.

It's really come to that stage though where I need to try something else, the delay just does my head in..

The rest of my rental is covered with the TP-Link Kasa cameras and they work flawlessly, almost instant app opening and camera will connect within 1 - 2 seconds. Also hub-free and subscription-free, however to my outdated 2020 knowledge of their range, they don't do like a video doorbell. Considering how well these have worked, I'd pay a decent bit more for one if they did. Or something similarly priced with decent reviews anyway.. 😅

Anyone suggest any retail surveillance gear not made in China? I feel my liberties and those of my Airbnb guests are at risk using these around my home.

  • Definitely rebranded reolink. I’m curious about the app. I’ve had good luck with reolink for non critical uses.

    • +1

I first got uniden and then reolinks as they were cheaper off Amazon. Can confirm you can use them both together in either the reolink or uniden app.

  • Has anyone bought and used these? The JB reviews seem positive but elsewhere more hit and miss.

  • Has anyone used or compared this with the recent ALDI one? https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-18-…

  • This is a rebadged Reolink Argus 3 Pro the software cloud and app are the exact same. It’s $60 cheaper than reolink store.

For the price it’s worth it. It’s not 24/7 as it’s the cloud version. Records to cloud or SD and I think the maximum is 20 seconds record time and it takes about 5-10 seconds to warm up or turn on to record.

Forget it if the movement is fast. The 5mp sensor is fine.

    • This one is 1080p

      • Oh. Well then it’s not rebadged. As reolink don’t make a wire free 1080p camera. It’s been made for uniden.

  • Office works also have the 4 pack of cameras for $447
