    • I received a tracking number yesterday.

      • When did you order?

        • 22/03/2023

          • @iguana: Did you pay for priority handling?

            • @mojadu: No, I paid the regular amount of $83 to WA.

  • Mine has just passed QC

    • Same haha

    • +1

Got the email that it shipped earlier today and tracking number too. Finally

  • Mine arrived today, but haven’t had a chance to power it up. I asked for the GPU to be shipped uninstalled and was charged an extra $30 for “shipping”. However, the GPU was just placed inside the case (PC is shipped in the original case box). Why did this cost me an extra $30 for shipping?

    • So the GPU isn't in its box?

      • It’s in the box.

    • That's an absolute rort. I didn't get mine shipped seperately but I've definitely got some issues regardless

  • +2

Arrived. Not sure what kind of QA they did that "passed" but Windows was not installed, and couldn't be installed with the TPM and Secure Boot settings they had set in the BIOS. On top of that, XMP was disabled and clearly the RAM is not up to snuff because the system becomes wildly unstable with XMP enabled. Literally either won't post or blue screens while booting. Pretty pissed tbh

    • +1

what did you do to fix the issue? I'm worried they have done same with my system

      • +3

In the BIOS you need to find the TPM settings and make sure it is Enabled (mine was Disabled, and I touched nothing else in that particular part of the TPM settings, just Disabled>Enabled)

You need to check that CSM Support is Disabled in the 'Boot' section, restart, then make sure Secure Boot is enabled. Secure Boot likely won't show up until CSM Support is Disabled.

Worth noting this only matters if installing Windows 11. Won't matter at all for Windows 10 or something like Linux.

If you want to enable XMP, you can do so from Easy Mode (F2 to switch from Easy Mode to Advanced Mode or Advanced to Easy) by just clicking XMP and selecting Profile 1.

It's worth noting that for some reason they installed my system with an upgraded motherboard that I didn't pay for so I am running a Gigabyte B560M DS3H AC rather than the Gigabyte H510M H that the system was slated to come with. So if you have the H510M, your options might be slightly different, but they're both Gigabyte boards so should be pretty much the same.

Thanks for the info much appreciated

Yeah, this is a joke. At the time these were being sold, they were being advertised as having Windows installed, but not activated. Sometime AFTER this build was sold out, BPC stopped installing Windows on their PC’s. But these were advertised as having Windows installed.

      • +2

They were also advertised as 5-7 business days before being shipped and (average) 5 business days for the shipping itself. Mine took 18 business days to be built and sent for shipping and then Australia Post got it from VIC to rural NSW in just 2 business days

I just created windows USB using https://rufus.ie/en/ download official ISO from Microsoft site. The software I used gives option to remove need for above, online account and privacy options hope this helps

        • +2

Good advice. You can always just use the official Microsoft usb installer and then when you get into the initial config, press Shift+F10 and type "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" without the quotes and it will reboot into the config again, allowing you to click "I don't have internet" and "Continue with limited setup" so you can create a local user rather than being forced to use a Microsoft account. You still get the options to uncheck location and privacy options. Your way does sound simpler, though rufus and I tend to have some teething issues

  • Will unbox mine soon. Will be rebuilding from different parts anyway so happy to reset bio etc to factory if there’s issues

  • I’m missing one of the RGB fans too, mine only has the two installed at the front. Anyone else’s the same? The listing states three RGB fans and the pictures shows a rear fan.

    • Yep, same here. What motherboard did you get?

      • I did get the Gigabyte H510M, did you get something different? Another things I’ve noticed, the GPU I requested to be shipped uninstalled still has the Gigabyte factory seal on the inside wrapping, so they never installed it to conduct their QC testing like they told me they would. Just threw the GPU straight inside of the case and charged me an extra $30 for privilege.

I got a Gigabyte B560M DS3H AC, no idea why. They also gave me PNY RAM instead of the G.SKILL RAM, which sucks because the PNY RAM is not on the motherboard's compatibility list whereas the G.SKILL RAM is. I can't enable XMP or the system won't POST so am forced to run it at 2133mhz with crap timings instead of being able to enable XMP and run it at 3200mhz with decent timings.

I reckon no actual QC testing was conducted on any system they've built recently.

          • @mojadu: I just chucked in an extra 32gb vengeance and enabled XMP @ 3200. Booted into win10 showing the PNY is running at 3200, total 48gb usable. So the pny sticks must be compatible surely?

            • @OzBerghainer: Possible I have dud RAM or even dud CPU. Regardless, shit is broke for me.

              • @mojadu: Try some troubleshooting online for getting XMP to post. Might be some other settings in the bios. I had to enable CSM and UEFI

                • @OzBerghainer: Oh, trust me, at this point I've tried everything that could be tried.

                  https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DD…

I've managed to get them running at 2800mhz with tight but safe timings. Anything more or less than that results in either not being able to POST or BSODs.

                  • @mojadu: Do you think emulation is lagging because of the ram?

                    • @supatight: Not sure, might be possible. Do you have XMP enabled in the BIOS? What kind of emulation? Emulation / virtual machines are not really my strong points I'm afraid.

                      • @mojadu: I wouldn't have any idea not that tech savvy

                        • @supatight: so the 16gb patriot coming up as running at 3200 but 16gb ballistix at 2666 how can i fix so they both run at 3200 if I enable XMP if someone can explain how would that solve my issue?

          • @mojadu: Just powered mine up for the first time. One of the fan cables must be rubbing on one of the fan blades, made a horrible sound, shut it off immediately. FFS, this is frustrating. One too many issues.

They obviously fell so far behind with their orders that they threw giving a (profanity) out the window. After waiting a month, I’d happily return it to them.

Edit: The flat RGB panel that should illuminate the front logo on the case was completely dislodged and just dangling in the fan blade.

@mojadu: I got this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/758905#comment-13540871 from BPC. I was able to run them at 3200MHz by manually selecting the frequency 3200MHz and voltage 1.35v. But it gave me a blue screen after 15 minutes into Windows.

            • @BGOnly: Maximum I have gotten my RAM to run, stable, is at 2800mhz. Very disappointing. Have emailed BPC who didn't reply, sent another email about something else and got a reply within an hour. Sent ANOTHER email saying please reply to my first email, they said we are looking into it, and it's now been another three days and I have had no response.

              • @mojadu: Did you manually select the frequency and voltage?

                • @BGOnly: Yep and the timings

                  • @mojadu: What value did you set them to? I may give it a try tomorrow. Thanks

                    • @BGOnly: I set VCCSA (might have a different name depending on your board, mine did not have the 'SA' as an acronym) and VCCIO both to 1.15 V

                      I set DRAM voltage to 1.35 V

I set the timings to 16-20-20-40 (tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) and tCWL to 16

Then I increased the DRAM frequency until the computer would not boot/post. Max I got was 2800mhz. If I set to 2900mhz, PC no worky

I could likely tighten the timings for better performance, but I don't want to waste time doing so. I could also increase the DRAM voltage to 1.4 V or maybe even higher, and try again to hit 2900 or above, but I don't want to do that. I am 'happy' with 2800mhz for now, until BPC get back to me about it and HOPEFULLY send me a new kit of RAM.

                      • @mojadu: Thanks.

                      • @mojadu: Well I eat my previous words about the PNY sticks and in general the mobo compatibility etc. Over the weekend I migrated the mobo, cpu and pny ram along with my vengeance sticks into a new unraid build. was getting super annoying crashes and hangs under high load and i've been trying to figure out what is causing it. I have just run memtest86 and picked up hundreds of errors. Taken the PNY sticks that BPC included and just kept the vengeance 32gb (which i should've tried after the very first crash i know) and memtest has returned not a single error. So either I've been ignorant in trying to run quad channel 2 x PNY 2x vengeance sticks or the PNY sticks are just straight up faulty / not compatible at their rated speed with this mobo. I will run individual memtests on those sticks alone later.

                        • @OzBerghainer: It's all very disappointing. Hopefully we will all see some kind of resolution to these issues

    • same also all my emulators are lagging some help would be appreciated

  • Overall quite happy with the build. The B560M mobo is an unexpected bonus and the 12Gb 2060 looks sexy. Had no issues with posting after installing win10 pro to the Kingston SSD. The case is also surprisingly slick

  • If someone smarter than me is reading, I can't get any monitor to work on the HDMI port nor VGA port. Shouldn't it just plug and play?

    • +2

Your using the wrong port, its at the bottom the 3rd 1

    • +3

Are you trying to plug your monitor into the Motherboard's IO? The 11400F doesn't have an iGpu, you need to plug into the GPU.

  • I can confirm that windows was pre loaded as requested.

  • how do i turn off the red?, is it possible?

  • Any tips on reducing the fan noise? My PC didn't come with Windows pre-installed, so I've put on W11 however the fan noise is quite loud even at zero load. I noticed there are some settings in the BIOS to control the CPU and case fan speed but I'm hesitant to mess around with it.

    • You could set a custom fan curve in the bios but without prior knowledge, it's not the easiest thing to do. Might be worth looking up a youtube video or something. I plan to do the same, as this is the first time I've air cooled a CPU in over a decade. The intel stock cooler will always run a bit noisy as it's quite small.

  • Is anyone able to help me (this is my first PC). BPC didn’t install Windows, and I’m really struggling to install it. I’ve created a Windows 11 bootable USB, however the BPC system just won’t recognise the USB. I’ve watched YouTube videos and read articles, just can’t see what I’m doing wrong…

    • Try and make the bootable usb again using Microsoft's tool. Before you do it make sure the USB is formatted/wiped correctly (maybe try another USB). Make sure the machine is turned off, plug in the USB into the back usb panel of the MOBO, not the usb ports on the top of the case. Turn on the machine and keep hitting the DEL key to bring up the boot menu, and hopefully you will see the USB there in the list. If so you can just follow the prompts and install windows onto the SSD.

      • Thanks for the reply, mate.

I re-did it and realised I was actually downloading the disk image and not the installation media. Unfortunately, the only PC’s I have access to are work ones, and the admin restrictions block me from being able to download the installation media to put on the USB.

Frustrating. I may have to just buy a USB drive with Windows bootable already downloaded, there’s a few listings on eBay and Amazon. Appreciate your help.

        • Ah frustrating, I can’t stand helping people with tech issues to find that everything’s locked behind work admin permissions and I can’t even install a driver for the home printer.
