    xbox pc app had unlocked Atomic heart yesterday, played for bit, looks beautiful but felt little stutters here and there in opening section.

      I had stutters but the latest nVidia drivers fixed that. Unfortunately nothing can fix the poor writing and dialogue.

          I tried this but the sub title font size is tiny, and can't be increased. Also it seems to freak out when multiple people are talking

      You have to hack around in the config to disable mouth acceleration and turn off some other stupid features.

      Google for some guides.

      Also enable Russian audio and english subtitles for a much better game.

          These XBOX app developers are total dumb (profanity). I installed atmoic heart. Took 3 hours over this stupid Auzzie lame internet speeds. Came back to play. It said 18 gb update. I clicked update. Updates started and was for some reason slow. I thought I will restart update and pressed cancelled. Instead of cancelling the updates, the launcher uninstalled the whole (profanity) game in a heartbeat. No wonder 1$. Developed by dumbwits.

    Alien: Isolation and Octopath Traveler are so good. Well worth the play if you can fit it in before they leave

      I saw the leaving catalogue and got a little sad that I haven't played either. I've got 6 days, will try to smash out at least one of them. I'm not the best with horror games, but really keen to give Alien a go

      It's really bad. I haven't tried Russian yet but I'm not sure if it'll fix it. The main issue is the writing. So whether I'm listening to it or reading the sub-titles, seems like it'll still be a problem.

      I get where you're coming from, but my 'money' went to cheaply bought 12-Month Gamepass gamecards through a cheap-region VPN 24 months ago.. It'd be hard pressed to suggest that people here playing on Gamepass are 'supporting' anything.

          no new deals and limited support for existing accounts in Russia

          dealing with Z people is a no-no pretty much, Russia stopped to exist as a market internally. which is as much as they can do, but they fronted quite a lot of financial and IT support to Ukraine on top of that.

          but I am not following the gaming wing of the business closely

                @botchie: War profiteering is nothing on this. if you guys are crying over prices going up, awesome, go and deal with the profiteerers doing that.

                If you are negging because a war is inconveniencing your life, i've got some people i'd love you to meet.

                Only you can't meet all of them because Russia decided to invade their home and do horrible things to a lot of them and a lot of them have not made it.

                One of them was a game dev working on a high anticipated game that you'd probably all lover to play.

                The rest of them weren't game dev's, one was a baker, another a student the list goes on.

                These are all people that like the rest of the country didn't deserve russia deciding to bomb the life out of them.

                Ukraine didn't start this war, the war could end tomorow if Russia stopped killing people and left.

                Giving a neg vote because you are sick of profiteering that has nothing to do with this or using it as an excuse for supporting a game you like is petty.

                But if anyone is giving a neg to support a regime that has no problem killing civilians and using sexual assault, torture and genocide as a normal tool of operating, theres really no defense for it.

                No anti lockdown protestors who are wearing Z's and putting up pictures of putin, or a game company that is full of z supporters are acting in their right mind if they think russias actions are ok.

                    @botchie: not sure what you are referring to here, I know everything about the war in Ukraine having lived both in Russia and Ukraine for years.

                    yes it started in 2012, but once again it was started by Russia, eastern Ukraine was a peaceful place before they showed up. it's all BS about Russians having been oppressed there by Ukrainians, Russia had their eyes on the region for its natural resources for quite a while now, first attempted to turn whole Ukraine into a puppet state similar to Belarus, and then more aggressively with separatist movement playing on some local sentiments blown out of proportion

                    I personally know people who experienced this war first hand, and, as a Russian national, I was there before and during the revolutions - see, no one oppressed or killed me, and I have a lot of Ukrainian friends.

                    long story short, the responsibility for this terrible war lies on Russia alone.

    Unfortunately Microsoft have removed the rewards option to redeem 1 month of pc gamepass recently. 3 month option remains, but only seems accessible from the mobile Bing app.

      I don't understand why they keep removing PC game pass from rewards. It is super frustrating, as it is pretty much all I use the rewards points on, and then randomly it disappears for months.
      Surely as a Microsoft service it would be the perfect thing they would want people to spend their points on.

    I be will not be buying this game as doing so is supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine:

      I tried to find the source of your information, and it looks like it came from this tweet, but the tweet doesn't state what the exact link is between Atomic Heart and Gazprom or Mail.ru.

      From digging around, it appears that the only link is that the startup was funded by GEM Capital. GEM Capital appears to be just a venture capital firm, that was founded by a someone who used to be an executive at a Gazprom subsidiary - I don't think that quite translates to game sales going straight to Gazprom coffers, it's more like share of profits going to a VC. GEM Capital also funded Telegram and Coursera FYI.

      I am not finding any funding links to Mail.ru/VK, and this seems to be just completely incorrectly reported. The only link is that the Mundfish founder used to work at Mail.ru until 2015.

      That said, given that companies in Russia are heavily taxed, a large portion of the game sales will inevitably end up in the country's tax revenue Putin's pockets, so I think there can be valid reasons to boycott it.

      Another edit: I am just looking at Linkedin profiles of Mundfish devs, and I am not finding any who live in Russia - they claim they are in Cyprus, Lithuania, Armenia, Georgia Ukraine, Spain, Belarus, Kazakhstan. The company appears to have moved to Cyprus. I am not sure anymore whether any international sales would get taxed in Russia at all?

          If you need more direct examples, Amazon, Google, Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft all have US military contracts. From cloud computing & software development to running DoD networks & powering aircraft carriers. Johnson & Johnson runs logistical, food & clothing contracts, Kraft Foods does the catering & rations, it is actually quite hard to find a large US corporation that doesn't suck off US DoD rich fat udder.
