A380 CLI 6GO

i did some testing with 4k clips (raw quality) encoded to arc a380 qsv av1 and 4090 nvenc av1 vs hevc for both qsv and nvenc — the average fps speed for av1 at best quality preset for both: nvenc 61.5 fps and qsv 70 fps. nvenc av1 and qsv av1 have very similar vmaf scores at various bitrates on best presets. I was using rigaya encoders for both.

How good are these intel arc?

I bet my used $175 sapphire nitro+ rx 5700 xt will slap this card up and down the streets all day

    • Not like they're trying to hide its performance

    • +5

      How can she slap?!

    • +2

5700xt is 2.5x faster, a380 is a pretty bad gpu. It's equivalent to a gtx 1650 except it requires a power pin unlike the 1650 since it uses more power somehow.

AV1 encoding is pretty neat for those that might use it!

    • Yeah was considering it for this reason alone but not sure if buying the A750 or A770 would be faster at encoding…. Havent seen any reviews that compare all models.

    • Next gen intel cpus (14th gen) will have av1 encoding in their igpus anyways.

      • +1

From what I’ve heard the igpu will be ARC - or a version of it!

    According to this guy. RandomGaminginHD

    It's slower than a 1650 super or rx 570.

  • MAN FLEX

  • GPUs can encode at rocket speed compared to CPUs but it is sad that they are sorely lacking in fine tuning options.

      Like what?

Please find the extra $50 to $80 for an Intel A750 or RX 6600 depending on your encoder and performance needs.

This card is absolutely not worth it.

You know how everything these days needs that one trick pony that you sell on. I love the focus on the 4k clip for example.

I don't know about you but when it comes to gfx cards I want to know how it performs in games….

  • idk about you but right now intel seems to be following apple's story arc when it comes to RAM sizing… except that intel isn't exactly ground breaking in that aspect.
