Have been looking to buy a bed frame that will give me more storage space, dabbled with the idea of gas lifts but this ozbargain forum post put me off it.
Cheapest it's ever been according to camel
40cm is pretty high though so if your mattress is thicc you might want to be mindful of that, ideal for me since the camping gear is gonna live there.

Great name for a rock metal band

    • +3

Also 100% great way to void your mattress warranty. You need slats, not thin metal bars, these don't support the springs, the springs will just fall through the gaps. Used to work at myer in the city, people would buy $2000 mattresses then put them on crappy frames and the springs would literally pop through the spaces.

    • +4

Besides both being ugly AF, the Ikea one doesn't seem to have slats to support the mattress as well as this one does. Ikea might be cheaper but no free delivery also.

    • +5

That Ikea one is just the bed frame - you still need to buy the slat base as a separate item - another $70 or so, and it doesn't include delivery

    • +1

The Ikea one only has 21cm of clearance underneath.

The OP specifically said he wanted the 40cm high base to store camping gear underneath.

  • +2

From the reviews looks like it was $100 on black Friday

We bought this one recently if anyone is after gaslift. Free delivery with plus for $330, it's $350 after discount at the moment. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/392831400103 It hasn't arrived yet so cannot comment on quality and so forth.

    • +3

LOL @ Artiss… sorry to say you are going to be rather disappointed.

      • -1

I guess time will tell. The reviews were decent on a few sites for this one. May I ask why you feel this way? We are looking for a few beds to purchase.

        • I'm sorry but I would return this immediately or get a refund if I were you. All sorts of problems will come up in the next couple of months.

        • +1

Zinus has 5 year warranty vs artiss with 1 year. I recently assembled a zinus bed frame and it was actually so good.

          • +1

@ATangk: Ive bought Zinus Bedframes, they have been pretty decent for the price.

      • What's so bad about Artiss, do they have a bad reputation? Who owns them it seems e be very popular, we have one of their standing desks which seems reasonable quality although impossible to source spare parts.

        • +1

Artiss is just a brand name. People behind it import latest designs and every 3-6 years change the brand name so all the bad reviews only reflect on the old brand. some of their products are fine but most feel like not worth the amount paid. As for Artiss, it started in late 2019 and gained popularity in 2022, so they'll milk it for 2-3 more years & once people find out their stuff isn't worth the money, they will sell under different name.

I have an Artiss pocket spring queen bed with gas lift. It's great.

        • Ive purchased a gas lift bed, bed header and bedside tables through artiss and had no issues with the products themselves. Similar to fantastic furniture in my experience.

Delivery (through the amarex courier) was below average in my regional qld area. Required multiple deliveries as they lost a box and they gave no notice on delivery etas. YMMV of course.

        • Artiss arent terrible per se, but they just rebrand the cheapest chinese stuff and if thats what you expect, fine….but dont expect real quality.

RGB bed… does it come faster on red

      • +1

        Is that what she said?

  • if it only had nails

  • Metal frame : no warranty for bed if saggy

  • Any thoughts on best under bed storage options?

(not … a place to keep the gimp …more like value roller boxes)

    • +1

Folding black boxes from Kmart, it’s what I’m using

  • So where do you get bed heads if you get this one?

    • +3

      Wall

      • +3

        Bed head…$69…
There’s a joke in there somewhere

        • don't forget delivery price, and even with delivery it's still probably the cheapest fully upholstered to floor bed head available to purchase.

          • @[Deactivated]: That was the sound of the joke flying above your head.

            The correct response is…..nice.

I have a zinus frame bed (different to this, but looks like similar main frame)
Definitely a solid frame and would recommend.
Zero issues with creaking or sag.

  • +13

my partner and I are both on the chunkier side and our zinus with metal slates is by far the sturdiest bed either of us have ever come across, had it for over a year now and would highly recommend to anyone. also the instructions and parts were super well laid out and included the best allen key that I still use all the time.
Definitely sound like a shill but actually just fkn love my bed.

    • What mattress?

      • Any medium to firm mattress will do well combined with an overlay of choice - memory foam, for instance. Example - cheapest IKEA firm mattress plus IKEA memory foam overlay

      • sleeping duck are fantastic, only issue is the upper layer sometimes shifts if you are a stomach sleeper

      • We (not prior poster) bought Zinus Chiro iCoil Queen Mattress Pocket Spring among others. I really like it - and it was pretty inexpensive for how good it was/is/

  • +5

I have this solid bed! The one with the bed head don’t get without a bed head

  • +1

Have this in King because our dog is a shorty and would constantly try to jump up on our old bed (although we got the shorter height frame). Frame is sturdy, no sagging and feels solid after 2 years of use.

    • Do you remember how much it was? Seems like this is only available in queen and smaller in amazon. The other model in King size is 300

      • Yeah we got ours from Bunnings and it was $299, they seem to be an on-line ordering platform for Zinus as well

  • +1

Have a low set one from a few years ago, delivery was quick and was not too hard for one not very strong female to build and move around solo

  • +2

I have a different king zinus bed frame and very happy with it so far.

    • +2

This is the one i have. Pretty good i think. No noise either. Should be on amazon as well.

      • +1

Also got that in queen, for 3 years. No issues, much better slat/support than other cheap frames I've used before. Mine included a bed head but it's basic.
No squeaking at all with the bed head off, some with it on but could fix that. Highly recommend Zinus.

  • +4

Had this one for about 6 months now, it's pretty solid but fair warning; can't hold a root for shit. Squeaks pretty badly and have noticed a lot more give in the joints than when I put it together. Will try retightening bolts but some of the middle legs look shagged. Great for everyday use though.

    • -1

Assuming you don’t bonk every day!?!

      • He said great for everyday use.

    • +4

      This guy f***ks

  • Got this for 165, decent for the price https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/738816

    • That one isn't better if you are after storage room underneath.

      • Yeh very low to the ground (~20cm).

  • Can't purchase.

"There was a problem with some of the items in your order."

  • Thank you! had been looking at this for a few months and finally pulled the trigger at this price.

Found this exact frame not as supportive to my back. I found to get actual support the bed will need a full emsemble or have the mattess simply put it onto the floor.

Zinus is a decent brand though. The quality is above others. Alot of their frames are properly powder coated without skimping on quality parts and checks.

    Zinus > Artiss

  • Queen no longer available

    • It's available now

  • +4

I've had this for around 2 years and have no complaints. I think it's a good deal for this price. My fat brother (120kg) sleeps on it in the guest bedroom and it doesn't sag.

  • Back in stock

  • Assembled it last night, was very straightforward and can be done alone. Includes a ratchet which was very handy. Only thing I’ve noticed, because I have a thin latex mattress, I can feel the steel slats underneath in certain angles/movements. Other than that very happy with the purchase. If you have a thin and soft mattress take that into consideration.

Ordered one over 4 weeks ago and never arrived. Amazon offered a refund.
