  • Very good price for this unit….. Sony was to abitious with $1400 launch price…The problem is that we may need to pay import tax as it is above $1000 threshold.

No import tax if you buy from DWI ;-)

Just be aware that judging by activity over on Whirlpool and other photography forums, the customer service at DWI has taken a pretty nasty turn for the worst sadly, and despite having bought from them 3 big ticket items, I won't be buying from them again just for safety sake.

If you do choose to buy from them, do not under any circumstances pay by bank deposit. Seems this is how most people are getting burnt by items arriving either not in the right condition, or being lost in transit with no insurance despite people having added it at checkout, but not having any buyer protection either via paypal or by their bank since they did a direct deposit.

    • It should be a rule that if you are buying a big ticket item online you should be paying through PayPal (or with a credit/debit card if you have an aversion to that service). Direct deposit is just too risky.

    • I think most people would pay using Paypal or CC anyway. I dont think anyone would do a bank deposit.

    Seriously

Read the whirlpool thread on DWI before considering ordering from these guys…

People are having lots of problems, items not delivered, not getting refunds… Really deteriorated recently…

It's not really a bargain if you pay for something and never receive what you ordered…

    Please no more DWI! Warning!

I ordered a expensive camera lens of them … got lost in shipping (no insurance , no cc, no paypal … stupid me). Still … they don't even care a little bit. Not sending me any communication (like serial number for a private insurance claim or ebay investigation … ). They got paid out 100$ from a Fedex claim (Fedex called me that they paid them) … but even after a months I don't get even this money … DWI is dead for me on any deal. Not a company which I would recommend anymore (they were good in the past and I used them a lot. Even with Insurance I am not sure anymore if I would get my money in a claim.

I heard that eglobaldigitalcameras is the same company by the way (not sure if this is true as I did no investigation).

  • I wouldn't go as far as vouching for the deal below (based in Indonesia) but they sell A77 + 2 lens (1.8/50 and 16-50/2.8) for USD 965 + 65 for delivery ! I'd be tempted but don't have the money right now…
