No as cheap as some previous deals on these but considering inflation. I think this is a decent price for a decent quality boot

Dont do it. Rubbish quality. Have had a couple of bad experiences with Hush Puppies. Used to be a decent brand but now you would have better luck with Kmart boots.

I have had these before. They are ok quality. Not as good as a $600 boot, but they are also much cheaper.

    • +7

I buy them for around $60-$80, last around two years for daily use, what more do you want?
And I get different styles each time, soft leather and fits for duck feet.

same here, never had an issue with these boots, wearing them every day

    • +1

agreed, especially during wet weather with these shoes. These things will absorb water into the soles.

    • The pair I bought four years ago have been good unless they've changed significantly. Black everyday workboots fairly scuffed but still comfortable to walk in.

Had a pair of RM's and the heel came off in 8 months wearing them maybe a couple times a week. Weren't comfortable to me either. Replacement will be getting sold for hush puppies.

    • I bought a pair from amazon outlet store. They had a damaged box. paid about $40 and they are a great casual Boot. For a boot to stand in I would recommend the Redback. Not pretty like the Chelsea but soooo comfy. great review for them here. https://youtu.be/hqwbBpcElpE and great channel for boots.

  • Do these have a steel toe?

  • +1

I don't know about these ones, but I have found the brand fits wider than normal boots and mine have good support.

I don't think you can resole them so that's a factor. It bugs me when the upper is great and worn in but the soles give way.

  • Pretty poor quality from my experience too (ive owned both a black and brown pair of this chelsea boot)

  • +3

    These are extra wide fit.

I bought a pair of Hush Puppies boots a few years back now, not sure if it was this style but the sole of the shoe literally ripped off when I tripped walking up a set of stairs in the first week of owning them. Never again lol.

Nowadays I tend to gravitate towards work boot brands (Blundstone, Redback, etc). They usually have a dress style boot but it's made with the same techniques as their work boots which for the most part are designed for durability. Can get them for like $100-$150 on special most of the time and they do the job better imo. The only thing that might not appeal is most of them don't have an option that will take a shine when polished but I personally prefer a matte look to my boots.

    EDIT:

These are what I wear pretty much daily at the moment and have been very happy with them

  • I just bought these exact same ones from Rivers for $22. They may not be the $600 quality some referred to here, but it seems this brand's $93 ones are no better, either.

    • +3

      Thats hard to believe

      • What is; the price?

        • And now just $15!

          (maybe it's a different Chelsea, but… $15!!)

          • @wisdomtooth: The HPs are a wide fit and honestly speaking the ones from Rivers are pretty ugly to look at, but that's subjective.

  • +1

this or rm williams? im in dilemma

    • Same someone please chime in🤣🤣

    • This is how I put it, RM Williams would last for while. But this, you can try different styles/colour every so often :)
Or you could get Rivers for $22, that's 25 times cheaper than RM Williams LOL

BTW, I have road tested a few RM Williams, they aren't comfy on duck feet. I could get one and hope it stretches, but that's a risk I'm not willing to take.

  • Thanks grabbed one.

Been wearing a brown one for a year and it’s still running strong. It’s extra wide for those who needs it.

  • This brand hasn't been on sale in awhile.

Shoes that I bought from awhile ago, about 5 years, still going strong. Use them once a week.

Showing as $115 for me? Am I missing something…

    • Yes, price is expired. Use the report button to report expired.

I've bought 2 pairs now. they are comfy but the sole wears out and cannot be replaced as it's incorporated into the shoe. Been to two shoe repair places and they recommended shoe goo to fix it both times.
Not worth it. Daily use for a year and they broke both times after 8 months. I kept wearing them but yeah def get a better brand

  • Junk. Buy a pair of dress Blundstones instead

    • +1

Junk, buy a pair of RM Williams instead :)

      • Natural pecking order but I don’t wear my RMs splashing in the mud at a festival or on the motorbike

  • Price gone back up to $115?

  • One of the few leather office shoes that are comfortable for my extra wide feet. Nice and light too.

  • Love these, I have wide feet and these fit perfect. Daily office beater for over a year now and besides some scuffs on the service, still walking. I've had other, more expensive, office shoes that ripped in under a year cause of my feet shape.

Will def buy again once the current pair goes.

  • I've had 3 pairs of these as daily drivers over 8 years. Very comfortable boots that last at 2-3 years but eventually the bounce sole cracks and lets water in. Probably still okay to wear in the dry months but I replaced mine at that stage. Didn't try to repair them as the cracking occurs up in the recessed grooves and looks a little fiddly to try and glue. The older boot had a softer compound rubber which wore down quicker but didn't crack like the new ones. Still worth it to me for this price but wouldn't pay more.
