Great power bank - would recommend this highly

Bought it in Nov, it is tiny, etc, but the strange thing is, it fully charges an iPhone 12 Pro Max (2815mAh) and sort of goes flat :(

    • +3

Doesn't iPhone 12 Pro Max use 3700mAh? Still, you raise a good point and it's something that pops up in a few reviews too. I wouldn't be surprised if this is only around 5000mAh.

      • Sorry, you are right, 3687 mAh. Bought it to the wife, she has Apple, and she complained, why only one charge and not more :(

          Answer: Physics :)

Unfortunately, you have to account for voltage conversion from memory. You can look up how to adjust a battery mah to how many times it will charge your specific phone.

Read this (hope it helps) 😀

        Interesting.

So the quality of the battery also plays a role.

  • Thanks OP, bought 1.

This Charmast power bank is also 30% off and works out a little bit cheaper at $23.09.

It is not described as "mini", I assume because it weighs a little more (with marginally larger volume), but it seems to have a more "flat" form factor and a "capacity" screen.

Any experience or comments on the merits of each would be welcomed.

      ‎‎9.05 x 6.2 x 2.22 cm; 187 Grams vs. 14.4 x 6.71 x 1.5 cm; 226.8 Grams

      • so the slim one is heavyier

        • Probably attributable to the "capacity" screen.

          • +1

            @oz-dave: that's a heavy screen

            • @9hundred:

              that's a heavy screen

"Heavy" is one way to describe 40g ;-)

It's academic comparing them at similar price points now anyway, since the 30% off seems to have disappeared on the "mini" one.

Edit: And now the extra 30% off is also over for the "slim" version.
There are still other comparable options though.

@oz-dave: Blue and white still available with the 30% off

                • @drogba: Weirdly, black seems to be back for me as well. It is applying 30% off all the way through to my cart as well.

I am thinking the $17.98 one below might be a better deal anyway.

  • I thought this was Chromecast power bank!

  • Is it no longer available? Can't get the 30% off coupon

  • +1

A power bank showing actual capacity is a huge improvement for me personally, i carry one on hikes and it helps ration power on multi day walks.
Almost tempted to grab this one as the display on my room Ross 20.000 unit has funked out ( after about 2 years and many hard miles)

  • No coupon anymore

  • +3

This one weighs 33g more, but is also about 30% cheaper at $17.98

Or you could pay $32.29 and get this one that weighs even less than the original post at only 169/170g (depends where you read) and includes a numeric "capacity" screen.

I got the 2nd one the other day and can confirm it's the bomb.
Really nice and compact, charges fast (both ways) and the display is handy.

Just a point to note that it only has 1 x USB C port, 1 x USB A port and 1 x Micro USB port.
So if you want to charge 2 devices at the same time you might need to carry a USB C and USB A cable.
