  • cheers, got me thinking

free shipping in the title seems a bit misleading since it's not a given…

    • -1

      it will happen

      • +21

or you can cut the facebook bullshit and just make it free shipping.

the point of the internet is convenience. i dont want to sell my soul to facebook and have to log into another website just to lie about liking you guys to get free shipping

in terms of other better ssd deals. if you want the "Ozbargain experience" for your business, then try to match the crucial M4 240gb deals from B&Hphoto lately

US SALES pricing + local seller + free delivery = guaranteed ozbargained

        • well said

        • Agreed, i hate that fb crap.

        • Just like on fb and make all the notifications on private then unlike right after the transaction. The internet is getting more convenient, FB is replacing those annoying surveys people bend over backwards for just to get a freebie.

@ OP: fury is right, cut the 'like us on facebook' thing. People are smarter here on OzB. You'd lose more sales with us just for the sake of minimal advertisement. Give a competetive price (obviously not at your cost) and watch your servers get hammered by OzB.

          i don't even have fb

        • +1

i have an alternate facebook account for stuff like this, but at the end of the day it's still too much of a hassle — it just annoys potential customers

        • -4

          Why facebook crap

      • then perhaps remove the stipulations and the question mark, or remove the line until it's a sure deal?

      • But it did not happen. Complete debacle as an ozbargain offer regarding shipping over $5.

  • anyone used 'shopping express' before? prefer the netplus deal w/out fb promo hassle anyways. have to admit though this intel ssd is getting more tempting every deal/day.

    • ShoppingExpress are quite popular here, look at their old bargains for a bit of history: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/52003/nodes

Rep is attentive and offers good deals.

      • cheers, always skeptical of generic sounding brand names.

  • meh no go for me only 18 $ saved

  • dupe?

    • Not a dupe as this is the original deal provider as well as offering additional deals featured + the odds of free postage.

  • +1

Free Shipping* is more appropriate than?

  • what about if you don't have facebook, yes there are people out there without it… lol also im totally confused about the free shipping

    • if x-number of people like them on facebook, they'll offer us a tiny discount — basically not a guaranteed thing so i think its kind of misleading — it changes the value proposition too much

      • oooh i see i thought i had to like them or something… you can get the Kingston from netplus right now with $5 shipping… rather do that .. thanks for the explanation :)

        • no problem :) i hate these types of carrot on a stick posts — i think i'm going to order that one you mentioned unless i can talk myself into waiting for a 240/256 instead

  • Its now 8pm????

  • OP seems to have omitted that the deal is for 8 to 9 pm on SUNDAY night :)

I also did not see the 50 items only for this deal mentioned.

  • Any chance of a sale on a 60GB 7mm drive?

  • +4

Have to agree about the crap Facebook advertising, I closed my account nearly 2 years ago and have no intention of going back. The topic is misleading and goes against the spirit of ozbargain.
If the deal was just genuine without all this facebook crap, i would have given it a plus.
I won't give it a neg because it is a good price, but your method in not appreciated.

What is with the FaceBook like bull5h1t?

How does that "enable" a retailer to provide a bargain??

    Utter and total b…

Vote like?? .. that stupidity is enough to make you shop elsewhere.

  • What's Facebook?

  • Is the Kingston retail pack?

  • I already have a seperate Facebook account created just to deal with this seller like this. Sick of ads n unhealthy selling tactics

  • +1

Why doesn't Facebook have a Unlike button ?

I'm sure it will get a thousand hits if retailers resort to tactics like this !!

  • Personally I see needing facebook likes to activate a deal as worse than needing a certain number of OB pluses to give us some offer. The latter of which is banned so why is the former still allowed on Ozbargain?

  • How is their shipping like? Goods arrive on time?

  • +3

Just back from dinner… and wow we have lots of comments here don't we? :)
    Getting some answers done:
The deal (free shipping or $5 cap) will activate on Sunday midnight for all SSD on our links above, i will post here again for the convenience:
    https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/shop/computer-it/hard-dri…
inside the link there will be 56 products all valid for the $5 cap or free shipping if there are enough show of interest in the deal.

    For the like requirement:
this promotion only requires you to like the facebook "epic hour post" to show you liked the SSD deal and an encouragement to us to do more similar deals. You have no obligation to like our facebook page. If there are any misleading explanations on the post, i will apologize on behalf of the whole team :).

    • How was dinner? Hope you had a good night out. Chinese, Italian, Thai maybe?

      • Dinner's great, had chinese. And yourself? :)

    • Does the free shipping or $5 cap include shipping insurance?

  • +3

I've bought a few items from Shopping Express a few times and found pretty good to deal with, the Facebook thing is just an advertising promotion for the seller, Facebook is not really my thing, but if it helps his business so that he can offer better deals then I personally don't have a problem with it. What does it hurt ?

  • I liked your facebook page post…

  • Meh…If the free shipping thing isn't on, then I may as well pick up the drive from my local PC store!

  • Yeah, so I guess no shipping promotion?

  • -4

sorry, not enough likes to qualify. we are still givng a $5 shipping cap on any orders that carry an SSD. Apply Coupon code: SSD-facebook at checkout for shipping cap to apply.

    • Why do you insist on likes anyway? Does Facebook actually generate you revenue for likes?

    • That's a shame, I liked it to try to get the count up, but yeah it's fallen too far short. $100 shipped for the 330 is what I am looking for. There's a slight impulse aspect to it, so 100 bills is my trigger. So close…

  • Intel 330 120GB SSD (kit version) $99 this product is in our 1 hour deal and the price $99 activates between 8pm to 9pm AEST

You didn't say what date. You call this a "weekend" sale. Could it be Friday? Sat? Sun?

The deal (free shipping or $5 cap) will activate on Sunday midnight for all SSD on our links above, i will post here again for the convenience:

Very confusing. Are we meant to wait till after Sunday midnight to order it? But then we miss out on the 1 hour deal on Intel 330. Also, how do you know if the shipping will be free or if it will cost $5?

I'm very tempted to just neg this because of bad implementation.

    • can see your frustration about this… sorry about that.

  • $104 delivered is a good price - hopefully I can get one…

    • Nice - got one. Looking forward to putting it into the budget i7 I'm buying….

      • thanks for the constant support. Budget desktop pc is not in our list, so good luck on your search elsewhere. Budget core i7 laptop, we probably could work something out…:)

  • Thanks got one!

  • Got one! Amazing deal… $104 for a 120GB SSD. If it were free shipping and no cap on how many you could order, I'd probably be grabbing 4.

  • Ended up getting one. Hopefully it doesn't take long to arrive

  • got one. thanks!

  • This is what we should be expecting, for the intel 330 120gb anyway. Nice to see the drive bay adapter and software.

    https://content.it4profit.com/itshop/itemcard_cs.jsp?ITEM=12…

    • So Mikinoz you bought one but didn't positive vote the deal?

Also are you hinting you fear we might receive a bare drive without the drive adapter?
Not sure why you'd bother using the software supplied when a newer version will be online?

      • Well spotted, i rarely positive vote the deals. Its a choice to vote or not.

No just providing a link, i wasnt aware the drive bay adaptor was included and am happy it is.

If both software does the same thing, then why bother with new version , downloading then burning?

Dont you have something better to do? ;)

  • Got one too. Hope everything works out well.

  • Was looking at the HDD's and just realised the prices on the website don't include GST, until you checkout.

Isn't this against the Trade Practices Act?

I withdraw my positive vote for this company/post.

    • Did you forget about withdrawing your vote?

    • you probably have not bought from us. All prices are GST inclusive on our site and we have not receive any single complain about this issue happening.

  • Got one, good deal.

  • +2

Thanks everyone that support this deal, our dispatch team will be doing their usual to get things sent our asap and hope everyone can receive the new SSD very soon. For those that didn't quite like it for some reason, it's ok: we will work on this :).

  • Mine arrived yesterday (Tuesday)

Full retail box with installation kit.

Have to say I expected the boxed kit to be in another box, not a padded envelope, but it got here OK and all good.

  • Received mine today (friday). Located in Western Australia. So pretty happy with shipping time!
