guaranteed to make you hate cycling

RRP $599, I thought it is electric.

    • +3

      Luckily it's not electric!

    • +4

      ikr I was shocked

      • +1

I am still shocked now that it's sold out

        • probably someone hoarded them for resale :D

        • +2

You could say the deal is no longer current

  • +4

    I thought it's a big drone!

    • +6

I have never seen a drone looking like that on the photo.

      • You see one now!

        • Where?

          • @edfoo: Close eye and use your imagination. That's the way to live longer and be more happier:)

            • @YasimKudomi Pape: I'm happier not seeing this as a drone. I think you're the only person who look at a photo of a bike and think it looks like a drone. Been working in DJI factory for too long?

  • No stock anywhere near me and delivery is $59.95

    • +2

same here, so actually it's $158 which isn't even half price

How do they reconcile in their heads that it's compact and then telling you it's a bulky item and is $60 delivery?

      • Checkmate! 😄

      • A compact cruise ship would still be bulky :p Same for a bike.

  • Nearest store with stock is Mornington.

    • +2

That's old news. They don't have stocks anymore

      • Cool. Saves the trip.

      • -1

I found stock in my local store.

        • +1

          Which store would that be

  • +1

Cant find any info on weight or folded size. Any thoughts?

    • +4

Actually a review has a picture of thr box with 18.6kg gross

      • +4

        That sounds heavy to me!

        • +6

My kmart esque steel adult mountain bike weights about that much, so yeah it's heavy

          • +6

@Jackson: I've been looking around for a fold-up to take travelling, stash up on the roof rack. My local had stock, was going to order, but then saw the 18kg weight. Most others I've looked at are about 12kg. Luckily FB Marketplace is full of them, probably where these ones will be in a couple of weeks, lol.

My thought is Russia is a terrorist state in its purest form.

And here's a very similar bike from Kogan with all the specs: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/fortis-urban-traveller-20-foldi…

      • -6

Ha, ha, Western propaganda (biggest Western achievement), it's the US, UK, NATO and Norway in lead ;)

        • You must be enjoying the West, at least through a VPN, from what I see.

Must be frustrating as you apparently can't move to one of those propaganda-free states.

  • +5

Will wait to see if Aldi was going to offer that

  • Purchased, will return if reviews prove undesirable.

    • +2

      Good for you

      • +2

You’re not going to start crying out of jealousy, are you?

      • I love that song

    • What's the change of mind policy like at BCf?

      • Keep it in it's original state and you're fine, otherwise needs to be faulty.

        • +3

And is in the form of store credit or store gift card only

        • buy first think

          The ozbargain way?

  • Hmm. In stock near me. As someone that's 6'3", I'd expect this would be very uncomfortable.

    • +3

Without a doubt. It's listed for people 115cm+, so anyone over 5'10" would likely struggle.

    • +2

Weight rather than height is more of an issue with these bikes.
This looks similar to the Kogan fortis folding bike I have, which is fine for casual rides under 10km.
The seat adjusts a long way and the bike fits my kids and myself just fine. I'm 6 foot by the way

      • Haha. So at 100kg I’m sure this would still be inappropriate for me.

    • +5

you would probably look like a clown performing in circus riding that thing

  • bought 2 for pickup. hopefully doesn't cancel!

    • ready for collection!

  • +1

for people 115cm+ and ages 6 and up.

  • +8

Bought one. Entering Tour de France.

    • +13

This really is perfect for that use case. Enjoy the adrenaline rush from the start, then fold up when you get tired and catch an Uber to near the stage finish. Wave at the breakaway as you sneak past

  • Any suggestions for an upright position bike for a teenager (13 yr old with 160cm) with price range of $250-500. Had plenty of cheap bikes from Kmart and big w in the past. No need for mountain types as he is going to use it on cycle paths.
    Thanks

    • +5

whatever you find on the street at your next council clean up

    • get a decent used flatbar bike from one of the big brands (Giant, Merida, Trek etc.). Kmart doesn't sell bikes, they sell bicycle-like objects. Spending a little more will see a much happier teenager…

  • Fully sik m8

  • -8

Just remember…… kids don't ride bikes anymore, only junkies do.

  • All sold out in SA, most stores didn’t have it before the sale.

    • I think there were some like 2hours ago when I checked on them. Probably not many stocks too.

  • +5

I have a few of these. Bought in BigW for $99 around a year ago on clearance. Huffy Pavilion brand name. Appear to be the same. https://www.huffybicycles.com.au/bikes/womens/pavilion-foldi…

    • +1

      How is it?

      • +4

Bought 3 for family members to enjoy biking when out and about. I imagined going down to the Gold Coast and cruising down the footpath by the ocean near Surfers Paradise/ Main Beach etc. So I put one together; whilst the 2 other bikes are still in their original box in storage now for a year. The bike rides well and I am over 6 foot. That's the good part. The not so good things: the bike is very heavy and I mean like damn this thing is heavy. Not very portable at all even when folded. I struggle to put one in the boot all folded as it is heavy and large and awkward shape when folded, and so there is no way 3 of these will fit in my sedan car. Of course all 3 should fit inside an SUV boot though. Overall I am happy for price paid for a bike like this.

        • Huffy is a steel frame, the Goldcross here is an alloy frame. Weight difference will be enormous.

          • +2

@AmperSand: they're the same weight. I looked it up earlier, found a Walmart link for the Huffy which stated the weight is 40lb (approx 18kg). It was mentioned in an earlier post that the BCF bike is 18kg.

          • @AmperSand: My huffy bike box says Gross Weight of 17.7kg and this Goldcross Bike box says Gross Weight of 18.6kg….. so it is the same bike weight as Goldcross most likely includes that bag weight.

            • @Logical: Was just going off your link, and it having said "steel frame" for the Huffy vs this being advertised as an "alloy frame" figured that might be the reason you found the Huffy heavy. Now knowing they are the same weight though, different story entirely.
To me its not overly heavy for a folding bike at all, but yeah do agree it's super awkward folded if its going in a regular boot and not an SUV.

              • @AmperSand: Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon ;)

                • @boonhowe: Sorry should have been more specific about how they describe it as "Lightweight alloy foldable frame".

Reading the comments, i am still uncertain if i should buy

  • Pretty all sold out in Sydney metro

  • No stock in VIC, no delivery option either…

    • -1

What do you want to do with those 6 inches?

    • how about for 8"?

    • Username checks out

    • +1

No. I am over 6" and it is fine.

  • any stock left? cos I can't see any

  • There is no stock nearby in Sydney or in Australia… I suppose that We should check other countries stocks where nearby Australia this What @bcf wants!

  • Can't order
No stock for click and collect
    No stock for delivery

  • Looks like staff are buying these for themselves, then claiming there’s no stock. My order was accepted and cancelled on this basis.

    Shame on BCF.

I’ll never purchase from this untrustworthy company again.

    • +2

      How do you know?

Our order got cancelled as well :(

      • -2

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but all BCF staff look super shifty

  • +1

    Order went through this morning.

Got contacted by local store saying sold out, but they can organise delivery free of charge or refund.

Took the delivery - Great customer service on their part!

    • Finally a shop taking responsibility for their poor stock management.

Edit: or doesn't seem so really, by the comments right above.

      • They just renegged now and said they wont be able to deliver.

    • After i drove 1 hour for mine, they said i was able to go instore at my local and organise free delivery if there was no stock because it's part of service

  • +1

Ordered/picked one up this morning. Only just had time to come back to the thread to check how quickly they went.

  • Bought one for delivery. Good find OP.

  • What you save in cash you lose in dignity.

  • +1

    Ngl
    Its a trash bike
But hey for $99 you cant go wrong
    Its barely above kmart quality

  • Shows stock available in Mt Gambier if someone is looking for it.

  • +1

A bit disappointed with the quality, definitely not worth $599 or even $299. But for $99 really can’t go wrong. Thanks for sharing the deal.

  • +2

I ordered 2. Had to drive 1 hour for it.
First one is working perfectly (except front brake make a loud noise which i hope will get better over time)
Second one has the front brake issue too but i also get noises when riding as if something is loose at the front and i can't figure out what it is. The chain was coming off initially too but i adjusted that but it is still noises as if the chain is loose. Will play around with it during the week…
