        I'm in Deluxe. I must be doing something wrong as it appears to be full price to me. Where you seeing the 25% off? I'm stacked to mid 2025. Maybe it has something to do with not have renewal on. Mine will cease in June 2025 if I do nothing else.

    I'm currently on Essential pretty much for the multiplayer.. I've been on the fence about Extra, are the games on it worth it? Does the catalogue update monthly (if so do they ever remove games)?

            @johnmelb: I downloaded the two games a few weeks ago. I haven't read anything about them being removed. The remastered/definitive edition was only just added to PSN plus essential last month I don't think they will remove it any time soon.

              So ended up buying RDR2 and mafia trilogy definitive.

              Maybe only the definitive editions left PS+, would be good to be able to have complete list before singing up though.

      I just started extra about one month ago and it's been great. There is about 500 games though there is overlap between ps4 and ps5 versions, if you finish one game it's basically paid for itself. They have some big first party titles as well, and new games come and go every month.

    Just purchased a PS5 and was planning to subscribe to Extra. What’s the best way to go about it using this deal (and how much will it cost in total?)

    One month then just sub for 12?
    Or should I sub for basic and use the 30% upgrade?
    What options does it give you after using the $3 month sub regarding ongoing subs?

              @Wool: After you have your PS5:

              • Also buy a $5 digital PlayStation gift card from EB games Web site (retail stores don't seem to sell $5 cards).
              • Create a new PlayStation profile (if you don't have one).
              • Redeem the $5 credit onto the PSN account you setup.
              • Buy the PS Plus Deluxe for $5 for 1 month (on the console, it will entice you to choose the 12 months option, just pick the 1 month option for $5).
              • With the $5 credit in your account, it won't ask you for your credit card.
              • Once purchased, cancel the subscription auto renewal (it's best to do that as soon as possible).
              • Get every single one of the PS Plus Collection games.
              • Get this month's free games (you will still need active PS5 subscription to play them).
              • Start downloading and playing games in Extra and/or Deluxe tiers.

              Once that's finished, wait for a better long term PS Plus subscription deal. I think by then you would know which PS Plus subscription level you want.

                  @Wool: Extras tier is fine as well, save $2. Deluxe isn't worth it here. God of War Ragnarok trial is only 3 hours. Classic Catalog is nothing special.

                  @Peanut money: Sony probably doesn't check credit card. If it is for extra tier, then yeah, credit card makes sense, no point buying $5 credit if only going to use $3. Credit card is probably easier.

    So I guess if you only sub to extra and deluxe for a month and grab the games under those you will not be able to play under essentials so it's a moot point

      The best way to use Extra, Deluxe (or the competition GamePass Ultimate) is if you actually have time to play games. I am finding the games I actually own digitally, I don't really replay them. With OZB, generally our pile of shame is so huge that we don't need to replay an old game.

      Quickly play them, move on to other games is a better OZB way.

        Yeah I don't have time to play them but I grab essentials before was ps plus which was pretty good as you needed it for playing on PSN which is why I'm using it for, with free games or month

          It comes down to whether you can get $5 or $3 worth of entertainment out of it for 1 month.

          I haven't played Horizon 2: Forbidden West. Demon's Souls, Returnal and Death Stranding are games which I would not purchase unless they are dirt cheap, but I wouldn't mind just play a few minutes or a few hours of them. God of War: Ragnarok, I haven't played. Even if it is just 3 hours, at least that helps me decide whether to get them soonish or wait for heavy discount.

          It's rare for Sony Australia to do this. Also, while I started subscribing to PS Plus for quite some time, there are still quite a few games I didn't collect (PS4 Pro was my first Sony console so there were a lot of free games offered before then). Being able to quickly play them, even if it is a small portion of it, is still good. I reckon majority of those, I would feel it is fine to bother with them moving forward.

          It's also good to know whether 2TB NVMe SSD is workable in PS5 for me later down the track or it will run out of space too quickly.

    Do Sony do this sort of promotion very often or probably once off only?

    Microsoft do such whenever the subscription is inactive for a certain period of time
