"As a token of our appreciation, we will include some complimentary items with your order for free. Thank you for your understanding."

That include people who bought other systems in the last week???
Any more information on time frames would be great. I bought a system early last week and on a couple of days ago i got an email telling me "parts reserved" and thats pretty much it.

    • +1

Ordered mine two weeks ago, got the same email 16th, no update till today.

      • +5

Its not the end of the world for me, but my original email said 3 to 7 business days. So far its 8 haha
Was kind of expecting it next week anyways after having it shipped but if its gonna take longer would love to know… I guess a little personal communication would be better than having to read it on here…

        • +3

Oh well, worst part for me is my work place is around the store, imagine you past the store everyday after finish work and can't pick up your order..

      • Nah nah I get all that. Then again I did ask for a specific motherboard that was advertised within an ozbargain post compared to their website so was expecting it to take a day or 2 longer which I'm not bothered about.
I'm just getting at that I was advised 3 to 7 business days that was in the email and if it was going to take longer then some communication would be nice that's all. From what I read BPC's support is supposed to be really good, so a nice email from advising that's all.

    • What were the complimentary items? I don't think I received any but not complaining the deal was good.

      • Don't know, i guess i was never in that list of "complimentary items". Although i did get my rig in about 3 weeks from order which wasn't the worst thing ever.

        • Fair enough from other deals I see people got upgraded mobos etc, so was curious whether anyone here got any free upgrades/complimentary items as per the listing.

  • +5

Can you expand a little more on "experiencing delays in some system builds delivery"? Are you now looking at a week? two weeks? for these builds?

    • My build took two weeks.

    • +1

I’m hoping they don’t mean the actual delivery of the pc. Mine got built on Wednesday, shipped on Thursday but now it’s just stuck on “ready for processing” from StarTrack. So much for paying extra for express delivery

Ordered back on the 16th two weeks ago

(Save further $20 while choosing i3)

    Definitely don't do this lol

    • +32

How about letting us upgrade to i7 for $20

      • +1

        Or 2TB for another 20$

        • +19

          4090 for $20?

          • @ttacx: Oh deer.🤣

            • +1

@Ziitek: Don't be mad at the deer. They don't play video games

  • +1

    Hi rep,
Great price! Is there an option to change to 1TB NVME? Or is that what the "add 1TB NVMe" means?

    • +1

based on the wording, if you select the 1tb nvme that should be in addition to the sata ssd?

      • +3

yeah @BPC Technology would really love an answer as am about to pull the trigger.

  • +4

    Hi Rep,

Could the case be changed for a black case but equivalent? If so, I will be purchasing this asap.

    Thanks.

    • +1

      also curious on this

  • +8

Just trying to reflect on what the words "entry level 3080" would have meant 2 years ago.

  • Soooo tempting. Still, seeing the prices continue to drop on these builds, might hold out another few months

  • Is it possible to have non RGB fans? Hate the lights. Thanks

    • +4

      Juat turn off the lighting

  • Performance wise would this be pretty similar to a series x/ps5?

    • +3

PS5 is more like a 2080, so this is better.

    • +6

The 3080 is far better than a ps5/series x as they are comparable to a 2070/2070 super. But the difference between pc and console is devs spend a lot of time optimizing games for consoles so they will look and run better on them. I'd absolutely go with this system over a ps5 or SX though if you have the money.

      • Plus, PS5 games tend to look worser than PC games as the devs lowered quality to increase performance

  • +8

great price, 12400f will be even better match for 3080

    • +1

Yea that would have been the better match for this deal.

      • +2

        +1

    • -1

That CPU is double the price .. :)

      • +1

        Would also needs mobo upgrade

      • -2

        also potentially to DDR5 too.

so it's not a straight upgrade.

        • 12400f use DDR4, even 13th gen intel can use DDR4.

          • @stevelo: thats why i said 'potentially'.

            • @hippo2s: No-one with common sense suggested 12400f + DDR5. As no-one with common sense suggested 4090 with 12400f.

      • CPU will cost around $50 more, not double. A b660 m/b (many cheap one available). That’s it, which worth the upgrades to pair with for 3080.

  • +1

Purchased my build Feb 22. No updates yet. But it has only been 7 business days, 7 more to go.

    • +1

Same, 22nd Feb. Got an email on 1st March saying parts reserved but that's all I've heard (aside from asking them to change shipping address). Didn't think it would have taken this long. Does Techfast take this long?

      • I would imagine any of them with so many orders from here would be jam-packed. So that's understandable. What's not acceptable is waiting over 10 days with no updates and with an order that still says processing.

        • Did you miss the “parts reserved” email? I ordered on 16th feb and got my parts reserved email on 21st. PC finally got built on 1st march but the whole time my account still listed my order as “processing” up until it changed to “shipped” still haven’t gotten the PC yet but that’s on StarTrack express not on BPC

The emails give you updates on their website your order will only say “processing” or “shipped”

          • @Aliidra: I didn't get a "parts reserved" email. Nothing in my inbox or junk mail. I sent an email yesterday to let me know what's going on.

            • @RocketSwitch: You get any update? I followed up on my parts reserved email today. They replied saying I am looking at my system being built on the 17th this month and shipped afterwards (guessing the following Monday) which I'm pretty disappointed with

              • +2

@mojadu: I got the parts reserved email 3 days ago. No date was given for when it's going to be built. The email did say 2 weeks lead time, so it's just above that now. Feb 22 to Mar 9 is 11 business days.

I just want them to test the system, there's been a few people stating in the thread their build doesn't boot up or has memory stick issues. Loud fans too. I rather they spend a few more days testing than sending it off broken and going through all that return bother!

They're under the pump, so mistakes will happen.

                So take your time guys!

                • +2

@RocketSwitch: The PC I bought off them the Stock CPU fan wasn't snapped on and screwed on properly and the temperatures on the CPU were over 65 degrees on boot up; Would be at over 80 after 10-15 minutes. Luckily I knew how to check that in the BIOS and know how to install hardware so could fix it. Anyone who doesn't know too much about computers would've had a bad experience lol

                  • @Danstar: I purchased from BPC during COVID lockdown & also had a bad experience… Just personally think they take on to much at once & rush the builds… I didn't have the knowledge to fix myself hence the bad experience with them

                    • +2

@ThePunchingBag: Yeah it seemed that way when I went to go pick up the PC; also had a faulty GPU which I found suspicious from the beginning for reasons I won't go into here. But they changed it without too much fussing about.

I didn't expect anything in return, but didn't get anything other than a "we'll let the building team know ". Most likely wouldn't tell them, and if I didn't know how to fix it myself I would've had to take the whole PC in to get fixed and they said it would've taken over a week for them to check it out. Not to mention the distance to travel there or to send it if I chose to post it back.

                      • +2

                        @Danstar: Thanks for sharing.

So it's going to be a lucky dip, since they're taking on way too much.

Oh well lol, I'll check it first before turning it on and then pray to God after I turn it on 🤣

But there's a testing stage, so I hope that stage doesn't get skipped please.

                        • @RocketSwitch: There is supposed to be a testing stage but from MY experience…It couldn't have been done but hopefully that's changed

                          • +1

@ThePunchingBag: Yep, it's part of the process in the email. I have my fingers crossed it doesn't come destroyed. I noticed there's now a freight risk if your GPU is delivered installed.

                            Sigh.

                  • @Danstar: Just curious, what hardware did you have to install to fix that???

                    • +3

@RocketSwitch: Well first I had to re-install the cpu fan. But as it wasn’t clicked on; the thermal paste was all but gone. Reapplied that, but after going back to change my GpU I got a new cooler for the cpu and installed that; which made it run at about 30 Degrees now. Got the CoolerMaster Hyper 212

  • Anyone with experience on how protective the packaging is when shipped? Concerned about the condition when it goes from Vic to NSW

  • +1

Please do more 3060TI deals. Oos last time.

  • +4

My mate purchased a pc from you guys took almost a month and a half to deliver

    • My mate's mate purchased a pc from these guys and it took 30 minutes to deliver

      • +12

My neighbours mate knows somebody that knows somebody that ordered a build and got a cucumber instead.

        • +4

          I ate a brownie once.

        • Was it's name Rick?

    • +1

These guys are the benchmark. I was one of the lucky 150 or so they shipped a $350 6600xt. Their pre builds also cost below average.

All the others don't cut prices.

  • NB: that the CPU upgrade is actually
    Going back a generation

    • Maybe the upgrade is actually for the cooler but strange to downgrade the CPU unless it's faster. Do we know the brand of the AIO cooler?

  • Damn if this deal was around Christmas I would have bought it straight away.

  • -2

Pretty tempting. Can you offer one tiny thing to sweeten my pot specifically?

  • Is there an equivalent AMD Option?

  • +1

Do the delays apply to picking it up unassembled?

  • +3

Damm that's good value I was considering getting a 3080 secondhand for $800 this seems like a no brainer

  • Anyway to take off the bpc premium care of $50?

    • Click the tick in the box next to it to remove it.

      • is it safe to un-tick it if i want to use standard AusPost shipping? should I be mindful of insurance and such?

  • +1

Yes they are cheap but it seems their order volumes exceed their ability to build and deliver in a timely manner. Depends how patient you are willing to be to receive your new system in order to save a couple hundred dollars.

  • +3

Will the CPU bottleneck 3080? 12400f upgrade option would be mint.

    • +3

@1440p, no. There might be a game here and there, but it won't bottleneck 99% of games.
The 11400f is very similar in performance to a 5600x for gaming.

    • Heaps of people have asked here …so I will try to answer.

That upgrade would be a pretty substantial one. 12th Gen and 13th Gen are a different socket so +CPU cost +Mobo (LGA1700 instead of LGA1200) cost, and potentially +DDR5 (instead of DDR4) cost.

So atleast 3 things will need to be upgraded together, it is not just the CPU. At roughly +$100 premium each, so +$300 would make this hard to swallow.

For those techies yes I know some LGA1700 mobos has DDR4 support but I can't imagine the outrage you all will shout at me for suggesting using DDR4 instead of DDR5.

      • Lol good shield at the end

      • -1

12400f cost extra $40-$50, there are many cheap b660 m/b around and everyone use DDR4 on 12400f. It may cost extra $70-$80 if you are buying parts, it may cost less for BPC only if they get huge stock of 11400f+m/b on special.
        But $300 difference? Way off

  • Is this high enough spec for PC VR?

  • -1

Great price for someone who needs a whole system, I paid this for just a 4070 today.

  • Semi-recent ozb prices of a RTX 3080 10gb - $1,000. Hence rest of computer $349. What is going on?

    • +2

      RTX 3080 around $900 ?
      Rest is around $450 ?

    • +4

My guess is that NVIDIA is willing to discount the retail price of their cards when sold in a pre-built system as a way to sell old stock but is retaining (and making retailers retain) their MAP (Minimum Advertised Pricing) as a means of maintaining their inflated brand value and not devaluing their new generation of cards.

      Edit:

Most early consumers for the latest and greatest rtx 40 series cards would most likely already be PC enthusiasts only wanting to upgrade their GPU. NVIDIA wants them to compare apples to apples with the last gen inflated retail price to justify a sales price of ~$2000. I suspect that the partner pricing for retailers on the back end for the rtx 30 series cards is +-$50 of the pcpartpicker remainder cost when you discount the cost of all the other PC components in these pre-builds. It would be nice to have an industry insider weigh in on this.

      • I wish I could obtain GPUs at this discounted 'OEM' pricing. It infuriates me the way greedy corporations rip us off.

        • same! they would make a killing selling GPU alone on here at their oem prices (plus a little margin of course).

No need to build, no need to answer all the 'can you customise blah' requests..easier to ship…

Just sell us the GPU! LOL

    • Clearance of old stock like the 11th gen cpu and board from suppliers, low spec ram/storage
Cheap psu and case bought bulk pricing

  • +4

How much extra for i5 12400F upgrade?

    • +4

Yep should have 12400F at least

    • +3

But then it wouldn't be $1349….

Will it be enough for a novice gamer ?
But will be be enough for your 1080 gaming ?
Have you provided evidence from reliable sources ?
What will this system be like in 30deg ambient temps ?
