[VIC] Free Cheeseburgers (1 Per Person), 2-3pm Sat Mar 4 @ College Dropout Burgers, Ivanhoe

Kayne West’s quest to sue this place has failed (albeit by his own doing), so they are celebrating by giving away free cheese burgers, served in a potato roll, one per person, this Saturday March 4 between 2pm to 3pm. Anyone who is in the queue after 3pm will still receive a free cheeseburger.

"Kayne West’s quest to sue this place has failed" - if this is actually true im buying 1000 burgers from these guys

  • +15

Can't get free burger so will buy some fish sticks to join the celebrations

    • +10

You like fish sticks? What are you? A gay fish?

      • -1

fish sticks is slang for skinny fish (male or female)

  • +4

Didn’t really fail. Never went to court as Kayne forgot about it and ghosted his lawyers so they withdrew the suit as they didn’t know what he actually wanted.

    • +8

      I don't know how that isn't considered a failure?

      • Did you fail if you didn’t even really try?

        • +13

Thanks. I just realized my life ain't full of failures afterall.

        • Bro did you see my HSC results

        • +2

trying is the first step to failure

@TEER3X: Also HJS “you tried and failed miserably. The lesson is, never try”

    • +8

Kayne failed to back up his own litigation. He stopped caring enough so it was thrown out.

      • That’s more accurate than saying he failed in his quest. Which implies that he really wanted to win but lost

        • Good point. I’ve amended the description

    • It was IN the court. The judge found against the plaintiff.

Yes, the reasons it went against him were because he didn't show up or submit evidence. But those reasons don't change the fact that the case failed.

    • +3

He's too busy being a neo-Nazi to deal with a hole-in-the-wall burger place.

This joint makes the best burgers I have ever eaten. Highly recommended.

    • Which one do you recommend the most?

      • The double cheeseburger is transcendent. Saint Pablo also exquisite. I've only tried the beef burgers so can't vouch for the chicken.

    • And amazing chips too. To have both in one place is exceptional.

  • Honestly, disappointing that Kanye even tried to sue a place giving homage to him.

    • +1

      disappointing but not unexpected

    • Homage is naming some burgers after his songs. They used way too much of his IP

    Kanye is a genius

    • -3

Ha expected the negs.,,only a genius could make this

I bet half of the mob on ozbargain were at the harry weirdstyles and ed sheetan concerts

      • Ahh yes. West, clearly a wordsmith of the highest order. Such genius. They'll be comparing him to the likes of Dylan, Wordsworth and Shakespeare in years to come, no doubt.

        • He is a producer, first and foremost. Educate yourself…

          • @mlburnian: Wow. That just makes his amazing penmanship all the more impressive.

            • -2

@Orion au: A real life curmudgeon

              • @mlburnian: Sorry. You aren't as articulate as the genius himself and it isn't very clear who you mean.
                Who's the curmudgeon?

Me? The person complimenting Mr. West's writing ability?

Or yourself? The person implying there's something wrong with the artists Sheeran and Styles?

    • -1

      hitler was a genius

    • You misspelt "genuis"

  • +2

So they’re celebrating not going out of business by going out of business?

    • +2

An hour's worth of free cheeseburgers isn't going to put them out of business. And I bet a lot of people getting the freebie will order other items.

      • Now it’s on OzBargain, the cheeseburgers will become burgers after 15 minutes, which will help

    • +3

The publicity will be worth it. Free advertising.

      • +1

        KordaMentha wholeheartedly agrees

  • Free publicity, maybe it was a stunt on Ye's behalf.

    • Sadly not free. While costs were awarded against Kanye, apparently it's very unlikely he'll pay, so the burger shop owner is left with the legal bill.

  • +1

    Do they do fish sticks?

  • Go for it….free Obesity and/or Diabetes!

    • oh no

    • Just count your macros bro.

    • Nobody is getting fat or diabetes from 1 free cheeseburger. Certainly not those who regularly workout.

  • maybe we'll see Kim there aswell

    • +5

The leader of North Korea sure loves his burgers! Some criticise him for relentlessly pursuing the finest cuisine all over the world, but personally I think he’s worth it

  • +1

The burgers here are genuinely verrrry good, so I expect the line will be long.

Also, having a lawsuit force them to drop their association with Kanye was probably a blessing in disguise lmao

    • Yep agreed. College dropout signature is delicioussss…

  • I'm pretty sure Rove pronounced his name Kane 20 or so years ago. Should've just called him douche.

  • -3

    Racist. #blackmatter

  • Combine this with the free burghers offered at Fat Jacks opening in Caroline Springs and you’ll have quite a good meal

  • -1

    Kanye Waste

Thanks for the morning laughs op

    • I don't see OP use the word "Waste" even in the revisions.

Even though I agree real quote or not.

  • His new wife grew up in Ivanhoe, maybe he’ll go visit sometime, or perhaps already has and that’s how he came to find out they were using his album name.

I wonder if there any OzBargainers in this report!
