162

Starting tomorrow @ 2PM till 3PM - 31st July mwave are having a special on the 128GB OCZ Octane SATA III Solid State Drive normally $125. I already got some Intel SSD from netplus recent deals but this might be good for those who missed out on those deals.

Free delivery or Pick up from mwave in Lidcombe, NSW. Free delivery is the way to go (more value) unless you want it sooner.

Limit is 2 per customer and there is only 200 available! From past Rush hour deals with mwave dont get shitty if you miss out cause their site is slow or they reject your order.

here is the product page.

This is going to be interesting.

Fast to read but slow to write when compared to newer drives but hell for $79.99 it's still a bargain!

  • Better off waiting for someone else selling the Intel 330's for $99 a pop and avoid the usual mfail headaches.

Went through two of these, both died. Not a typical experience, no doubt, but just sayin'…

    • Was OCZ good with handling warranties?

      • Returns were through the retailer (Centrecom) and they were great.

  • Is this SATA2?

mwave's 1 hour madness deals are always a waste of time, but what the heck. I might try for 5 mins, if the site is DDoS'd I'll get something else.

  • price is good, i hope these prices become the norm for SSD's in the future.

  • For those who doesn't have mwave account, better make one before the deal starts.
it will make the transaction faster.
past rush hour deal takes me about 30 minutes to finish transaction which finally failed.

  • Last Mwave deal(free head phones).

    Never again Mwave, never.

    • thats sata 2. comes form overseas will take longer to recieve.

      • Centercom has the SATA2 version for $79.95.

  • I managed to successfully place the order. Surprisingly no DDOS. They charged a 2% paypal surcharge but oh well.

Here's hoping the order doesn't get canceled by mwave due to no stock.

Not going to vote positive just yet, simply because it's mwave. I'll add the vote it all goes well.

  • Curious to see whether they will double bill me… first order the website crashed with a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error so I ordered again… CC surcharge is annoying as well…

  • sold out already

    • Jeezus that was quick. Price is up to $91. So much for Rush "Hour".

I guess it's better than not updating the status, and wasting people's time trying to order it for the next 45 mins, and then getting the order canceled (but not after taking your payment and not giving a refund until you ask for it).

I did get the order in (2:00 sharp), but order status is at "waiting for order to be processed". They can still cancel it even though I've paid. I'm hoping for my first positive experience shopping at mwave (or rather, attempting to shop).

  • managed to order one too

  • well I got to the final screen of the order at 2.04pm and the availability changed to NO. FML. Every time…

    • +1

Yeah they should change the "Rush Hour" title to "Rush Minute".

  • I got as far as entering my credit card number, then sold out!

    • +1

It's recommended you use a payment that requires you entering as few details as possible, i.e. Paypal. Every second counts.

  • +1

same here. The price was about $90+ then, but trying to complete the deal. it say sold out. What the…

    Waste of time.

  • Back to $139

  • What the hell…

I successfully placed the order and they took my money, and just now I checked my orders page to see its status and it's now missing. It still lists the $30 router from ages ago that they canceled, but not the SSD. It was there earlier. I never got a confirmation email, or an email telling me it's been processed or shipped. Now all record of it is gone, including the order number.

Did this happen to anyone else?

I already told myself last time to never buy from mwave, but I didn't listen :(

This was the very reason I didn't upvote the deal. I may still downvote it yet.

    • Hope you paid with paypal or credit card.

      • I did.

I really don't trust this company anymore. Well actually, I never trusted them after my first attempt top shop with them.

  • The deal was too good to be true. They must have make a mistake on the price and trying to pull out of it.

  • I asked them about it and they lied to me. They told me the order was missing because I closed the browser before it completed. A TOTAL LIE. I had "order successful" and it appeared in My Orders as "waiting to be processed". Then it disappeared. They manually canceled it and now they're pretending there was a problem with placing the order! They then credited my account to make those funds available for another purchase at mwave. You can bet your ass there won't be one.

    Here's their full response:

It appears we have received your PayPal payment, but there is no order associated with the payment within our processing system. This usually happens if the checkout process is not 100% complete before the browser is closed, or before you move on to another site. This usually also means you would not have received a Proforma invoice.

As we are unable to recover the order, we have issued a full refund back to your PayPal account. You can now go ahead with another order via Mwave.com.au using this refund as payment for the new order. You can also request that PayPal return your funds to your bank account if you do not wish to proceed with a purchase at this time.

If you do wish to replace the order, please ensure that you go all the way through the checkout process before closing the browser or leaving Mwave.com.au. The payment system will take you to PayPal to enter your account details, the transaction will be processed, and you will then be returned to Mwave and be provided with a proforma invoice (this last step can involve clicking a “return to Mwave” button depending on your web browser, but is in most cases automatic).

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

    Regards,

    Mwave Customer Team

They lied and blamed me for not allowing the order to be completed! And if I hadn't chased it up, they would have kept my money and pretended they were unaware of happened. They just earned a negative from me.

If you successfully ordered the drive, let me know if you actually got it.

    • I would open a dispute with paypal to get your money back.

  • I feel for lostn. I had the same thing happen to me trying to buy a ssd a few moths ago from Mwave. Told me the ssd was not being supplied by the manufacturer (which turned out to be true).

Anyhoo, it surprised me that I could manage to get two this time around. No dramas there. I think I voided the warranty tying to squeezed the ssd into my lenovo x220 tablet.

So Mwave managed to turn it around in this instance. Might throw the second one into the imac.
