I've been waiting for a price drop on this one for a while, got an alert from the camels this morning. Close to, but I think not quite, lowest price ever. Not eligible for Prime, but they are offering free delivery.

Remember, unsliced bread is the best thing since sliced bread.

recently bought this… its a good knife… but even though the paperwork is japanese… i cannot verify at all if this is made in japan because the packaging and knife does not give u a country of origin at all.

    • The pictures show “made in Japan” on the knife

yeah but it actually didnt have that on the knife…

We're sorry. This item is no longer available from the seller you selected.

  • Have you seen any deals on a Santoku or similar?

Not sure if a gyutou is different enough from a chefs knife to be worth getting

    • Santoku will be different. More flat blade area.

I recently retired a Santoku actually, to go back to a gyuto. I took advantage of the last ebay 10% + Westpac 10% to get this :

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/325108971217

      • Currently have a sunnecko chefs a wusthof Classic chef and some some random cheap chefs knife. And a few paring etc.

        • There isn't any real difference between gyuto and chef knife. But the only thing is euro knives will commonly be heavier and thicker. The angle on Japanese knives (16 degrees I think) is finer than most euro knives.

Someone feel free to correct me

  • Says there's 4 left….. Can't add to cart or but it now. Shame, I just discovered the wonder of unsliced bread.

just tear it into chunks like a real man!

      • I get grief about not slicing the slices straight, chunks will get me murdered and sliced up in nice straight slices.

  • Does it come in a man size?

Seriously though - I bake sourdough boules and this isn't really long enough.

    • "23.5mm"

      • Actually 23.5Mm, capitalisation issue.

Good for cutting a fresh-baked French baguette from your backyard in Australia

    • How long do you need it? I have had one of these for a year and haven't found any Sourdough loaf it is too short for..
