Bought a similar deal in November and really enjoyed the smaller packs.

When it came time to open the 1kg pack, liquid had pooled, colour had changed and had a foul smell. It definitely no longer tasted like the smaller packet.

It was stored in a dry, cool closet unopened and still in date for 5 more months. I followed up with the store to see if it was still safe to consume but never heard back, so went straight in the bin for collection day.

Hi,

My apologies if we missed your email about the biltong.

It's best to store the biltong in the fridge, especially during the hot months in Australia.

We don't use preservatives in our biltong like many of the jerky-style brands that you normally purchase from a grocery store.

So they don't have a long shelf life when they are not stored correctly.

We do send out storage tips with all of our biltong. I do apologies if they were perhaps missed with your order.

  Your ingredients specify you use Preservative (250)? You’re literally lying to your customers? I get severe reactions from preservatives and you blatantly lie to people.

  Yep definitely didn't get any extra storage tips. On the website, it only advised about once a bag was opened.
  
  This was an unopened 1kg bag stored in a dry, cool place as per typical jerky/biltong products.
  
  The label had a best before well in excess of 6 months and did not have a refrigerate note on the actual sticker.

I’ve done a bit of digging, and it seems this company is purchasing everything from Springbok Foods and repackaging it or getting them to package it considering they claims Blaize only works “2 hours” a week lol.

Compare the 2 websites, all the flavours are the same. Doubt they are joint ventures.

Smells dodgy all round.
