    Could you please help me to understand how we are to view your (almost constant) 30% sales as anything other than a tactic to exploit this site for regular advertising of your products?

      Surely these guys are guilty of the same…yet I don't see a similar sentiment. Their rep is very particular to try and squash any criticism or questioning of their frequent posting. Similar to Airjo, people seem to like the product a lot.

        Whether people like the product or not is irrelevant. This site is for bargains/deals, not regular advertising. And especially not false advertising of ‘deals’ to circumvent rules prohibiting regular advertising.

            There are plenty of people swearing they’ve never tasted such excellent coffee, when it’s pretty clear they salivate not for the coffee but rather for the discount.

            I could post my old socks here for 46% off and I’m sure there’d be a few grubs who would upvote the post. Some of them would even throw in a comment to say they’re the best old socks they’ve ever had the pleasure of buying, and that it’s an excellent deal.

              @wormarts: A symptom of the meteoric rise of the site unfortunately, it's gone from niche backwater website to healthy community with it's own culture to a full on juggernaut capable of changing the fortunes of certain companies (ie Airjo or Bec Hardy Wines) when leveraged in a particular way.

      I mean, aren't most discounts regular? Eg cashback at certain stores, etc?
      Also, the Airjo reps are actively commenting /helping people with queries instead of just advertising

      FWIW, I think this is good value compared to similar coffee deals, despite being a regular occurrence

        I wouldn’t say most discounts are regular. Perhaps semi-regular.

        And even if they are, there is a distinction between public offers that people decide to post here (blame for abuse sits with the poster, not the company), and a company posting ‘deals’ here itself (blame for abuse sits with the company).

        A company actively commenting/helping in the comments is irrelevant. This is OzBargain, not OzCompanySupport/OzFriendlyCompanies).

        Thinking the coffee is good value is also irrelevant. No one would accept Aldi creating posts on this site to advertise its Logix dishwashing tablets, just because they’re cheaper than the competition but just as effective.

            In those situations, the posting on here is not done by the company, so it’s nothing to do with the company.

            And I’d suggest it’s arguable as to whether even if the sales are regular, that they are always of exactly the same lines.

                @ripoffmerchant: I think wormarts is making a valid point. Some reps (Airjo, RD ADL / Bec Hardy Wines in particular) have figured out a way to leverage OzBargain as an advertising platform whilst staying between the lines in terms of site rules, which goes against the ethos of this place.

                Could you obtain the same deal by visiting the website? More than likely. Would you ordinarily go to such a website or receive their marketing emails? Probably not, which means what they're doing is just extending their reach but under the thinly-veiled guise of it being a "deal", albeit one that is repeated every 10-14 days or even 4-7 days. Of course each time it's a slight variation - a different discount or alternative product offered, but essentially they are shoving advertising in our face.

      isnt it commensurate to how often someone buys the product? if the beans run out every fortnight, and people are looking for deals on it fornightly, then its convenient to see these deals more regularly than say.. weekly deals on timber planks

        Some might say even manipulative, as there is a certain psychology behind sales prices vs. regular prices.

    Thanks, I was waiting for this. I made a mistake by listening to someone suggesting to buy Inglewood coffee instead of Airjo in the last posted deal. I ended up paying more and had to wait 3 weeks for the coffee to arrive. The coffee was no where near the taste and freshness I get from Airjo.

    Great coffee and I for one appreciate the weekly deals as I know when I run out I don't have to wait long to get a new code so keep up the good work and great coffee.

    I enjoy the enterprise blend makes a nice latte, how would you compare the Sumatra blend against that? Haven't tried that yet

      The Sumatra is a little lighter in the roast and will have more subtle chocolatey flavours with more acidity and citrus depending on your brew method.

      It's a great blend and we would be keen to hear how it compares for you if you go that way.
