3 Months Amazon Prime Membership for 8,000 Telstra Plus Points, 12 Months Prime for 24,000 Points @ Telstra Reward Store

2860

First post pls be kind!

Amazon Prime membership comes loaded with fast free delivery on eligible orders, world-class entertainment on Prime Video, music on Amazon Music, and ebooks on Prime Reading. (Retail value of Amazon Prime membership is $6.99/month.)

3 months - 8,000 Telstra Plus Points
12 months - 24,000 Telstra Plus Points

Seems like a cracking deal as I noticed Telstra plus points expires at a certain point.

(Note: You may need to have an active service with Telstra to use your points balance. A low-cost Telstra Prepaid SIM from any retailer can be activated for this purpose.)

    • I almost got it to work via mobile but the page froze after 2-step verification and after I refresh it gave me 404 page not found -_-

Doesn't work on Chrome and Firefox browsers either 😭

  • Try to checkout but nothing is happening. Tried on different browsers and phone.

    • Not sure if you noticed this in a comment above, but try Firefox on Windows PC.

      • I did. Not working

        • +1

This is a stab in the dark, but try incognito mode (private window)?

          • @harshbdmmaster718: Same. I saw I had no address in my profile. I changed it and now I only see 404 page no found when trying to check out.

  • Dang… my craptus 6 months prime offer is expiring only on mid june and most of telstra points expiring end of Apr :-\

      • +1

No it does not work, I get this message:

There was a problem with applying your promo code to your account.

You are signed up for a Prime plan through your mobile carrier.

On the flip side, my voucher voucher expires on 17 February 2025, so I guess I could just remember to redeem it when my 6 months Optus has expired.

        • I pay monthly, paid a few days ago actually so I had prime until April sometime.. the 12 month code applied to my account and I now have prime until April 2024. My membership still says monthly though so I'm guessing once it's up I'll be charged the usual monthly price, not 12 months.

          • @johnnytran: That makes sense, but the question above relates to those of us who are subscribed to Prime via the recent Optus 6 months deal, it looks like we can't add the Telstra promo code on top of the 6 months we received via Optus.

            • @WorkingLowJam: Ah ok, I missed that. My parents are on Optus, was that promo a code as well and does a prepaid service qualify? If so, I'll see if it stacks on top of my Telstra one

Thanks!! I had 24,500 points so I extended my Amazon by 12 months (and I only just paid for 12 months… so I don't have to worry about it for another 2 years now). Good times :)

  • Thanks OP! I got 24k points so I'm able to extend my Amazon Prime by 12 months!

Getting a 404 error when I try to check out

  • Getting a 404 page not found too but don't have an active service. Can I just buy the $2 Sim only with no credit and then use the points or do I have to load credit?

  • thanks OP..

"Congratulations on already being a Prime member. We will extend your membership by 12 Month when you redeem this promo code."

  • 404 error

  • i've got 9,000 points, $60 a year amazon prime sub so points are worth $15… any better use of it?

  • Looks like its over. I'm getting 404 in multiple browsers.

  • Shit I got 23,980 points

Based on our assessment, you're ineligible to redeem this item.
Message via MyTelstra to discuss your account

I then spent 1 hour on live chat to sort this out, but the rep couldn't figure out as well why I'm ineligible for the order. I have active number with Telstra

https://checkout.telstra.com.au/consumer/rewards?login=true used this with Firefox to redeem something the other day

  • +1

    Is it working?
I tried several browsers but nothing happened when I hit the checkout button.
    I have 24,044 points luckily. 😁

Confirmed working today 24 March. Redeemed yearly subscription for 24,000 points. Got the code and followed prompts to extend my Amazon membership expiring Nov 2023, to now Nov 2024.

      • Do you have active telstra service?

  • I'm confused. I have a standard yearly Amazon Prime subscription paid direct to Amazon. In the Telstra deal it says "Must Redeem Via Telstra". Does that mean I can't just buy this now and apply it direct to extend my membership?

    • yes you can, you get a code and enter it in your amazon account via the link they provide.

  • Update: Looks like now you can redeem the points without an active plan. My points expire in a week and managed to get a voucher for prime for 3 months which is valid till 2025. (it used to give error without active plan when this deal was first published)

    Perfecto!

What browser did you use? Just tried with Firefox and still giving me 404 error 😑

Edit: I don't currently have an active service with Telstra

      • Safari on ios

        • Thanks, have Samsung and doesn't work on Android either 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♂️

          • @Craze: May be adblocker?

            • +1

@kaleidoscope: Doesn't work for me either, tried both Firefox and Safari

            • @kaleidoscope: Nope don't have one on phone and doesn't work either. Contacted CS via message so will see what they come back with (had to be escalated to the Telstra Plus team).

Holy crap, it finally worked for me!
I kept getting the error even after trying all those links above so I assumed it was because I didn't have an active plan but I messed around with the URL and it worked!

For those still trying, give this link a go:
    https://checkout.telstra.com.au/consumer/rewards/technology-…

    • Finally worked for me using your link, cheers!

    • Awesome stuff mate, link worked for me too!! Thanks heaps hopefully also get 2000 points back per current promo.

    • Thanks works now! Bigbrains ChillBro.

I already have membership, where to put in code?

      • I have the same question, struggling to redeem it

        • Let me know if you find it

          • +14

@Modesty: @donamique FYI, here's the link to apply the code:
            https://www.amazon.com.au/prime/promo/landing

            • @ChillBro: Works for me. Genius! Thanks and have a great day.

            • @ChillBro: Thanks for this - was having trouble finding how to apply the code (after trying a million different ways to actually get the offer in the first place). This forum has been super helpful. Telstra sure don't make it easy!

    • Hello, any possibility you could let me know how you messed around with the url? I'd really like to redeem for the Amazon gift cards and wonder if I can do like you have done here for the prime.

      • +5

Sure thing lol, does this work?

        https://checkout.telstra.com.au/consumer/rewards/technology-…

It's not some black magic and for your reference (and anyone else reading this), follow these steps:
        1. Browse to the product you want via https://plus.telstra.com.au/rewards
        2. Get the number at the end of the URL (for the amazon gift card, it's 23145)
        3. Replace the XXXXX with that number in this URL https://checkout.telstra.com.au/consumer/rewards/technology-…

        Hope this helped.

        • Thanks mate. I had no success with Telstra chat last month. Still working on 9 May. Love the OzB community!

        • +3

4 june, this no longer works. Rather than a 404 error, i'm getting a "unable to process your order" error. I can't even browser the rewards page while being logged in. I am logged out, find the code of the item i want to buy (amazon gift cards), replace it on the URL provided and then i keep gettgin that error. They might have patched it already :(

    • Worked for me too! No active service but managed to check out and redeem the points.

    • Thanks heaps for this, I was becoming resigned to the fact I wouldn’t be able to use my points.

    • I love you bro! This finally worked :D

    • Thank you 🙏🏻

    • Many thanks for your help with this.

Thought I'd have one final go after many times trying and getting nowhere.
So sat in bed this morning with a mug of tea whilst using my mobile phone - and used both your links for utilising my points on an inactive Telstra account and the redemption of the voucher within Amazon, and they both worked so easily. All done within 15 mins.

My points expired in a few weeks anyway so you've effectively saved me $59.

Will toast a beer in your honour later today.

      • Amazon prime is now $79 per year so that’s another $20 for you. Cheers!

  • +1

    Thanks @ChillBro!

Managed to get it working with no current service (I have ported out temporarily so I can rejoin on a new JB hifi deal).

I’ve received the code, but no link for where to redeem it. Does anyone have the link? I can’t find anywhere on the app to redeem it.

    Thanks!

Bought this earlier tonight. No probs getting voucher, but voucher doesn't work :( Amazon says faulty voucher code, contact Telstra :( After an hour of messages CSR says he is forwarding to the escalation team who will contact me in 5 business days :((( O but there was something I needed to buy…

    • I have something similar going on. I bought a 12-month code on the morning of 2 May and applied it to my Amazon account straight away no issues.
My sister had enough points for 2x 3-month codes that she redeemed on the evening of 2 May and since we share a Prime account she just sent them to me to apply on the same account. If I try to apply either of these codes I'm getting an error saying:

We’re sorry. We’re unable to complete your Prime signup at this time. If you would still like to join Prime you can sign up during checkout.

      Are you getting something similar?

If I re-enter the 12 month code again though it seems to recognise that it's been used and throws up a This Promo Code has already been redeemed error as you'd expect it would so I don't think the redemption portal itself is broken.

The only thing that has changed between the two redemptions was that I received an email from Amazon notifying me of the price increase for Prime. I wonder if there's something broken in the back end because of the new prices that are going to be implemented.

      • +1

'We’re sorry. We’re unable to complete your Prime signup at this time. If you would still like to join Prime you can sign up during checkout.'
Yep, that's what I'm getting. Maybe a problem with the 3 month voucher codes?

        • +1

Hmmm - Could be. I'm in the midst of a back and forth with Amazon Prime support so I'll see if they give me the same story you got regarding it being a Telstra problem.

        • I'm having this same issue. I got a 12-month membership. Just started a chat with Amazon Support. I don't have high hopes this will be sorted

Update: they came up with the conclusion that there must be a problem with the Telstra points, and to please contact Telstra. sigh

        • You can only redeem if you dont have a current subscription - will only add a voucher at the end of it. - Just talked to Amazon support.

  • +2

Ah damn. I should have read the comments.

    Bought the 12 month.
Am a current Prime Member (expiring August 23)
Attempted the code and got the message "We’re sorry. We’re unable to complete your Prime signup at this time. If you would still like to join Prime you can sign up during checkout."

Am talking to Amazon now. Will update.

    • +3

@redwiggle - how'd you go after chatting with Amazon? I went through Telstra chat and they reckon they'll email me again within 4 to 24 hours. Being Telstra i won't hold my breath 🫨

Update: I used Samsung Internet browser and worked first attempt and extended by 12 mths. Had just over 8,000 points left so nabbed another 3 months, code won't apply same error messages reported above!!!

      • Amazon said to keep trying for 24 hours, otherwise contact Telstra.
Telstra gave me a list of questions to answer and said they'll get back to me sometime (as per your experience)

hmmm .. I'll try again in another device.

The good thing is that the voucher doesn't expire until 2025 LOL

      • Oh wow.
        You are a champ.
I used my iphone's safari browser and it worked fine - Got the page saying "You're already a member - would you like to extend 12 months"

        Thanks @Goldberg !

Edit: I won't push my luck with getting another. Gotta look at what else to buy.

      • Tried a mix of browsers and incognito tabs across my Mac laptop and Android phone but no luck adding my second and third redemption codes. Will give it a go on my work PC later today but I still haven't heard anything back from Amazon after their initial contact.

      • You're a champ!!! Same issue here couldn't redeem the code on Chrome (desktop and mobile browser) but managed to redeem on Samsung internet browser. Thanks heaps mate saved me lots of hassle to contact Telstra/Amazon customer service!!

  • Thanks to ChillBro, I have managed to claim 8000 points for three months Prime Membership.

Received email with the voucher code from Telstra, however the email doesnt have any link or details on how to redeem the code.

So I have contacted Amazon and they have advised me to try to redeem the voucher using https://www.amazon.com.au/prime/promo/landing

Unfortunately the voucher code from Telstra doesnt work on the above link

Does anybody know what would be the link to redeem this voucher? Or any details on how to claim/redeem this voucher in Amazon Website?
Note: My Prime membership is currently not active

    Thanks

    • +2

The promo link you have is the correct one. I could not get the 12 month promo code to extend my membership using Chrome and Edge on my PC but thanks to Goldberg & redwiggle I tried the safari app on my ipad and it worked fine.

      • Thanks gamma717.

My prime membership is not active currently, I wonder if this could be the reason (it shouldn't be though)

      • +1

Thanks! Just tried Safari and it worked!
        Appreciate your help gamma717

  • Tried all the above suggestions for my 3 month voucher… no luck :( crickets from Telstra

    • +1

Also experienced the same with the three-month redemption. Had a lengthy online chat session with Telstra and the rep I was speaking with told me to speak with Amazon.
Jumped on chat with Amazon and after yet another lengthy discussion, which i never fully finalised as the chat session closed unexpectedly, received an email from Amazon that included the following text:

I'm sorry for the trouble you've had using your promotional code for Amazon Prime offer.

Please confirm the code you received  is 16 digits long and try redeeming it again.

If you're still unable to redeem the code, please contact us again through the following link:

THERE WAS NO LINK PROVIDED AND THE CODE SUPPLIED BY TELSTRA IS 18 DIGITS 🙄

Reverted to the Telstra chat session and they have handballed to another team to investigate and expect to get back to me in 3 to 5 business days.

      Poorly executed promotion 😤

      • I still haven't heard back from Amazon after their initial email asking me to confirm where I got the code, where I'm trying to redeem the code and a screenshot of the code not working on the Amazon website but I suspect you and I are in a similar position. I don't have any iOS devices to try the codes on and it didn't work on Safari on my Mac.

I'm curious about your code situation though. I have 3 codes - 1x 12 month code that I have redeemed and worked fine and 2x 3 month codes that are having problems. When you say your code is 18 digits how are you counting that?

My already used 12 month code copied and pasted exactly from the Telstra follows this format is:

        9JH P-A WFE FP- 57A XXX

I've redacted the last three characters just in case but ignoring spaces and dashes that's 16 characters of letters and numbers.
My other two 3 month codes follow the same spacing and dash format so I'm curious what format your code is in.

        • +1

          I redeemed a 12-month code and it's 16 digit also, don't think will be 18-digit?

          • @Craze: If Goldberg's code is actually 18 characters that's a whole new level of problems we've got going on.

            • +1

@daanish: This is the 12 month code i received and managed to redeem. It is 18 characters in total including the hyphens/dash, or 16 minus those dashes.

9JF Z-T EYJ T2- BYU xxx and same as daanish I've redacted the last three characters. I didn't remove the hyphen/dash when redeeming, it was a straight copy/paste.

              • +1

@Goldberg: Ok - so we're all on the same page. Mine is also 18 including the dashes but Amazon doesn't care. If you delete the dashes and spaces or even add extra ones into it and then paste into the redemption site it'll get parsed all the same as the 16 actual alphanumeric characters.

                • @daanish: Cool. I just spoke with Amazon and they’ve now done a backflip saying you can't apply a second promotional code, she put me on hold and checked internally with god knows who. Funnily enough if I were to request a callback again, I'd get a different rep, and a different answer!!!
She said i can try and redeem the 3 month code, when the 12 month top-up expires…FFS, I better set an alarm for May 2024. We all know this is a widespread issue, as per the majority of comments in this post.

This is an excerpt of the email they sent me after last night's chat session and I'm like WTF:

It looks like you aren't eligible to sign up for Prime because the account you're contacting us from hasn't adhered to the Prime Terms & Conditions in the past.

                  • +1

@Goldberg: I'll have to chase up Amazon and see if they tell me the same thing.
                    Will report back my findings.

                    • @daanish: Good luck and thanks 👍

                      • +1

@Goldberg: Amazon Chat have just said that my previous enquiry from a couple of days ago is with a specialised department and they can't help me but I should hear from that dept within 24 hours.

                        • +1

@daanish: Let me know how you go 😁

                          • @Goldberg: I just had the same issue. Chrome and Safari weren't working. I ultimately got it to work through Firefox.

Regarding the code, the format should be:

                            xxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx

Not the gibberish that came through in the email which was different to the original code it spat out on the Telstra webpage.
