        Spend and save $120… SNSMDXXXXX
        likely targeted

What is picture quality like on this TV especially for sports?

    • +10

When watching sports you will likely be at least a few beers in, so sports would look amazing…

I don't drink, so I would need to know from a non-drinkers perspective.

Pretty shit tv, I mean if one doesn't care about picture quality then yeah sure go for it.

    • We get fooled by the picture quality when we see these TVs on display in the store. The picture there is super crisp, bright and mesmerising because the signal quality provided is of the best quality.

You bring that best picture quality TV home and supply it with the normal TV feed and you will realise that it is absolutely normal LED/LCD TV. This is my personal experience. I recently bought a Samsung 65" QLED from JB Hi-Fi.

      • +2

I don't watch normal TV so in my case it's, 4k YT, 4K Netflix.. Games etc it makes a difference and I have QLED, Nano LG mid range and an old Pana OLED and there is definitely noticeable differences in pic quality… But as you say only if you have other ones around like in a store that shows the difference you may not notice… (although I'm pretty sure I'd notice the blooming that the LG has no matter what lol)

Most free to air have digital tv channels and or online apps. The failure is entirely yours, not the t.v. Any tv in the planet is going to look bad if you shovel a crap signal into it.

      • +2

supply it with the normal TV feed

I don't think there is a TV out there that could make a normal TV feed look good…

        • -2

By normal I meant digital channels. I don't think they are anywhere comparable to the highest quality signal used by stores which are specially curated to enhance the picture quality.

Even the DV is pretty ordinary compared to the signal used in store.

Only games may show some difference as it is not a recorded video signal. It is a vector signal that does not pixelate.

      • You bring that best picture quality TV home and supply it with the normal TV feed and you will realise that it is absolutely normal LED/LCD TV

You must be new to 4k TV?

Normal TV feed not 4k, what do you expected? But some TV have upscale like my Samsung, it did a bit better with my Live TV Internet feed.

The picture there is super crisp

They are 4k demo video, I found that even some 4k streaming not as good as those demo, that is true.

Anyway we don't have 4k live TV feed here anyway.

Even the DV is pretty ordinary compared to the signal used in store.

The same if you play VHS tape, VCD on old FHD TV.

      • you think its magic or something?

        • He don't even understand the difference between TV feed signal and video.
He call the demo video in store as "signal".

Even the DV is pretty ordinary compared to the signal used in store.

      • Disappointed that mcdonalds isnt fine dining either ??

    • sport

    • It'll be fine. More expensive panels make very little difference, and the biggest improvement is the speed of the software and the refresh rate for gaming.

      https://hometheaterheroes.com/are-more-expensive-tvs-better-…

More expensive TVs can be better, but you can find affordable TV options with excellent clarity, speed, and features. Advanced features like OLED panel types, high refresh rates, and fast speeds found in expensive TVs are worth it for high-resolution media or playing video games.

      And;

Sometimes expensive TVs are better than cheaper ones, especially when you’re considering image quality, refresh rate, input lag, resolution, and the type of panel. Other times the inverse is true depending on the brand and range you are looking at. That’s why it’s best always to do your research to determine what features you need and your use case depending on your budget.

Otherwise, you can probably get away with spending less than $1000 for a 1080p TV and less than $2000 for a 4K TV.

  • How is this TV with scenes shot in darkness or low light?

    • The rting site posted above will give you all you need to know.

  • JB is doing Sony 65" above + soundbar with extra 15% off but no special on Sony.

Life is not that good with LG :(

    • +1

Correct, I personally don't touch LG

      • Doesn't matter what it will buffer even on nbn blurry picture

Had this TV and returned it due to very poor light uniformity:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/715109

    Definitely would not recommend.

    • +2

because you could not afford or didnt want to pay for a more decent tv, you bought this entry level tv. Then you complained about the poor light uniformity which is kinda a known "issue" for an entry level tv. And then you came here to neg this deal.

      oh well…

    50Hz

  • Unfortunately when you go this big and budget any problems with image are magnified, yet this is still crazy value.

Tcl 75 inch uhd 4k is usually cheaper than this and brilliant picture quality sub 1k, plus 3 year warranty. Just paying for the name on this cheap TV.

    • Yep, I returned mine and got a TCL C735 and it's brilliant. Almost the same cost as this LG, but miles better quality.

      • +1

Exactly, got my c735 for $920 with $100 free evisa card from TCL. Just been sub 1k recently. Great tv.

    • Recently I got TCL C835 75" mini LED for only $1310 (pricing error benefit).. Its excellent TV..
