  • bought the 512gb version, thanks op

    • Link?

      • it seems sold out, I just checked my ebay found out the 512gb version is no longer available.

    • How much did you pay?

  • Decent but I personally would wait for around $710 deal again.

    • Wasn't $710 grey imports?

      • +12

Aren't these all grey imports since Steam Deck has not released in Australia?

        • +1

Yeah, they're all grey imports. There is still variation between where stock is located, size of retailer, ACL, etc.

This one is sold by MobileCiti, which AFAIK is reasonably reputable, so if you run into issues you are likely to have an easier time with warranty.

        • But if it is sold by a Aussie store then there is 12 months warranty for sure ?

          • +2

@congo: I’m guessing they are saying there’s probably a difference accessing that warranty based on company reputation. While places have to give warranties good luck if it’s just some kid running a drop shipping business out of his bedroom

  • Is the 512gb version included in this deal?

  • AfterPay limit isn't high enough :'(

    • +1

If you use a gift card and pay the gap with Afterpay, the discount still counts for the whole amount. (at least last time I did it).

      • Can confirm this still works, thanks!

    • $500? (i've been using it for so long now i've forgotten what the initial limit is)

  • +1

Came here to post about this deal and sure enough, it's here. Just bought the 64GB and now looking for a 1TB SSD for a decent price.

  • Much difference between the 64Gb and 256gb? The screen?

    • only 512gb gets the different screen

    • Same screen on the 64 and 256, 512 has the different screen.

I opted for 256 because I didn't like how colours looked with the 512 screen. Lot of people say don't go 64gb as caching and shaders will fill up your drive, safer to go 256.

    • +1

      Screen is the same.

      256 SSD is also faster.

Best value is to buy the 64 and upgrade the SSD yourself.

  • Thanks OP! Been after a steamdeck for awhile now. Got the 64gb version as 512gb was too expensive for me.

EDIT: Should I go for a SSD upgrade or a microSD upgrade?

    • SSD.

    • If you're on a budget, I say just get a microSD card for the time being.
Speeds are going to be slower, but barely noticeable.

      https://www.bunnings.com.au/sandisk-512gb-ultra-micro-sdxc-1…

      $65.9 for 512GB from bunnings
(You can probably find it cheaper on sale or somewhere else, or take this page and price beat at Officeworks)

This should last you a couple of pay dates, save a little here and there and before you know it you'll have enough to get a 2TB SSD

$259.68 for 2TB WD SSD from AliExpress

      • Thanks for the reply. Never knew Bunnings sold microSD cards. I'll probably go this route for now. I saw how to put an SSD in and it kinda put me off doing it.

        • One great thing about getting a microSD is exactly that, just plug & play.

        • +1

It's a marketplace item, in this case sold by Veloreo.

      • $259.68 for 2TB WD SSD from AliExpress

        + GST

        • Ty, Total is AU $284.42 with GST

Not good enough to post but okay as a comment.

    • +1

Code doesn't seem to work for me :/ did you run into any issues yourself at first?

EDIT: didn't figure why it didn't work but it worked in the eBay app rather than my browser

  • Steam are currently having a sale. 10% off steam decks.

If you can be bothered going through a shipping company it might be worthwhile.

  • What's the general consensus on the best case for these? Soft TPU, Crystal hard, or the TPU with the screen cover (looks expensive though.)

  • Has anyones deck from this deal shipped yet? I'm still waiting for a tracking number

    • Nothing here either. I’m going to email them as it’s been a few days..

      • I just got a tracking number an hour ago. Had to message them a couple of times for an update though… So much for 24 hour dispatch.

        • Yep, same problem here. Ordered last Thursday morning and hadn’t heard a thing about it being sent out since then, so I emailed yesterday morning and got told they’d chat to their dispatch team and get back to me.

          Nothing.

Emailed this morning, had no response, so I called this afternoon and they got me to hold while they spoke to dispatch.

“Dispatch has said they’ll send it today.”

Aaaaand… still no confirmation of dispatch on eBay nor response to my messages.

          sigh

Let’s see how we go tomorrow.

          • @tastybaklava: Still not delivered and wasn’t posted until the 22nd, despite their listing saying 24hr dispatch.

Seriously, f**k these guys at mobileciti.

            • @tastybaklava: Yea… they oversold the 512GB and I have to wait another week for stock to come in.

Really not impressed by this interaction, prior ones have been pretty good.

              • @elgoog: I’d ordered the 64GB version, so I’m not sure if it was the same scenario as the 512gb units.

Finally arrived last Friday, followed by the 1TB ssd I’d ordered from AliExpress on the same day I’d ordered the Steam Deck lol
