    As per this points are worth as below ;

$590 Woolworths gift cards or $550 for Coles
    49,500 Velocity points or
49,500 Krisflyer miles ( not sure how Velocity and Kris conversion is same)

    Some comment history
11 days ago - Bad News - First year annual fee increased from $64 to $99

6 months ago - Bad News —- Offer extended to 30/11/22, first year annual fee lowered from $129 to $64, bonus lowered from 130k to 100k

    • Thanks exactly what I was looking for

    • Is it me are they all the same? Ie. 104,200 points gives you $500 gc

  • +1

Looked on Suncorp rewards website and it’s 2.5:1 for KrisFlyer and 2:1 for velocity

Plenty of better NAB issued offer at the moment such as Citibank prestige (150k virgin or 120k KrisFlyer) and virgin money flyer (100k virgin or 64.5k krisflyer)

    • Oh you are right, looks like velocity has gotten better, I'll update that to 2:1

    • Wasn't prestige a 140k salary, kills it for me?

      • +1

Isn’t that less than median for ozb?

      • Not anymore. Since lowering cc limit to $20k the salary limit is no longer there.

    • Link for the virgin money flyer?

  • +1

just a normal credit with not many benefits..

  • Terms and conditions doesn't seem to mention 12 months eligibility exclusion

    • I couldn't find that either. Maybe give them a call before applying.

      • correct. call first.
no point risking credit score, and spent $3K and then get nothing

      • Please update us :) i cancelled this card back in Jan

        • My husband had one and reapplied. Got confirmed verbally over the phone but didnt get the points the 2nd time around.

          • @ilovefood12345: Thanks for sharing, how long has it been since he hit the requirement spending ?

            • +1

@taofufa: LIke 3 months but also apparently he didn't end up meeting minimum spend as Suncorp are very tricky and do not include government payments

  • +2

I signed up a few months ago for 100k points + $64 fee. I spent around 3k and totally got 104k points, equivalent to $500 gc. so around $436 profit.
This one is slightly better you will get close to $600 in gc value - $99 fee so $500 profit.

    • How long did it take for the bonus points to arrive after you take over 3k balance?

      • +1

a few days after they sent me the next statement. So pretty quick. Their credit card business is run by NAB at the moment so fairly good.

        • +1

Nice. I just got mine… a month after i become eligible!

Edit: and two days after next statement!!

  • Thanks OP, been looking for a new card. Cheers

  • +1

if i link this card to paypal and then pay my friend via family and friend method, what will suncorp see this transaction? cash advance ? or will be eligible to get the bonus ?

  • How long did it take to get the card approved?

    • +1

Apply on weekend, approved on Monday.

      • +1

Same! Just waiting for the physical card now. thank you!

        • I was approved over the same weekend (Sat 25th) and still haven't received my card. Has your card arrived and how long did it take? Thanks

          • @wildmane: Yep mine arrived super quick - think i got approved on the Monday, got it on the Thrs.

  • Suncorp Credit Card now has a Qantas bonus points offer - 70k Qantas Points for $178 annual fee to start off with.

Bit steep but its a start I guess.

  • Anyone know if both the wife and I can apply for two separate cards and claim the bonus twice?

    • Why not? Have you found anything on the t&c about same address or husband and wife clause?

  • How long did it take to get the 120K points after meeting the spend criteria?

    • Would like to know this too, met the minimum spend critera on 22/4/23 - so will keep an eye out in a week's time. Also wondering if I they would waive the fee if I cancel once I've redeemed the points, that is if they haven't charged me the annual fee.

    • In the statement month you hit the min spend. I hit mine in the first month and got the points when the statement was available. Immediately transferred it to Velocity with extra 15% points Velocity promo. Smooth process

      • Is there a way to avoid the annual fee like there has been with other credit cards?

        • I have yet to cancel my card, I hope they reimburse or pro-rata it

  • Where do you go to spend the points?

  • Anyone know how to register to internet banking with Suncorp?

It says to enter my TAC, which of course, was never provided to me.

  • +1

Just cancelled, no waiver or pro-rata of AF so $491 profit.

    • $491 profit? Isn't it $500 in points minus the $99 fee?

  • Has anyone applied for this as the next card after cancelling a Citi card? Since they're both NAB backed I'm not sure if I'll get an automatic rejection. Don't want to risk the hit if I can avoid it.

    • An update:

I went from closing a Citi Rewards card in June to the PointHacks NAB Platinum Rewards offer and then onto this across 2 and a bit months. I was initially auto-rejected by Suncorp immediately but after I called them for further details I found out this was because my credit file had not updated to show the Citi and NAB cards were closed.

Once I sent through the documents showing my Citi and NAB cards were closed with $0 balance the card was approved within a couple of hours so at least in my experience jumping between NAB/NAB partnered cards isn't an issue.

      • Yeah often takes a 3-6 weeks I find for credit card closures to show up on your credit report (depending on the bank).

  • How long does it take to get the bonus points?
I cleared the $3,000 spend about two weeks ago and still nothing yet.

    • +1

Someone above said it should be when you get the statement for the period in which you hit the minimum spend. So should be your next statement. I've just hit it myself in the first month so hoping I get my bonus points with my first statement.

      • Replying to myself, I got the bonus points as soon as my first statement was issued (end of month 1).

        • Got mine today as well after the new statement - Thanks!

  • How do you guys check the balance of rewards points?

    • Internet bank>Go to Card Service>It will open a new page>View and redeem awards.
There might be another way to check, but that's what I usually use.

  • Still no Google Pay?

  • I've done the NAB premium deal and Westpac platinum deal.

That would be the next best card albeit with a higher spent for velocity points :
$3k - would give me 61875 Velocity points.

I might also have to consider the Citi Velocity loans for 70k Velocity points.

  • Can anyone who currently has this card confirm that it can be added to Google Pay? Looks like the FAQs are suggesting it works with Google Pay now. https://www.suncorp.com.au/banking/help-support/ways-to-bank…

    • Update: Google Pay does indeed work. Have been using it for the last couple of weeks.

  • Does anyone know if Urban Utilities payments for water and sewerage in SE QLD counts as eligible spend or does it come under government related?

  • FWIW I got my bonus points when I got my second statement (didn’t hit 3k spend until the second month). Points appeared same day statement was issued.

    • +1

Seems that the points appear the same day as the statement that covers the qualifying spend is issued. I hit my spend in a about 2 weeks and the points arrived the same time as my first statement was issued. They didn't show on the statement but were in my account when I logged in.

      • Yep, pleasantly surprised. Have had to chase points up before with some other providers.

      • Thanks, just checked my statement and they weren't on there but were posted to my rewards account. Yippee

  • Does anyone know if we have closed this card more than 12 months ago, whether we are eligible for the bonus? Can't find it anywhere in the Ts & Cs

    • All I can see is "Existing Suncorp Bank Credit Cardholders are not eligible to apply for introductory offers."

  • Got points second statement, cancelled and got pro rata'd annual fee refund ie 10 months refund

    • Did you call to cancel and ask for the pro-rata or did you cancel online and it was done automatically?

  • Had this card before and got my bonus points immediately after first statement. Waited 12 months before reapplying.

  • Can I please confirm Suncorp allow the points to be transferred to Velocity at the rate of 2:1? So 120k = 60k Velocity points?

    • Yes that's right. 2:1.

  • If I use Sniip to pay an ATO tax bill, will that definitely count towards the card minimum spend for the sign on bonus points?

    • +1

It should. Or you could use Zippay.

  • I haven't received my point after spent more than 3k and I have 2nd statement. anyone have received point recently.

Also there is 9 months balance transfer and it seems 0% fee. want to try that before 3 months since opening. Anyone tried the BT?

    • Try logging into the rewards section in your Suncorp online login. My statement said no bonus points received but they were actually in my rewards section, I then transferred them to Velocity.

  • Anyone know if you’re able to apply for a NAB card after this?

    • +1

I went from a Citi card to the PointsHack NAB Offer into this Suncorp offer so 3 consecutive cards all issued by NAB without any issues. I guess as long as you can prove that this card is closed when you apply for the NAB card, that shouldn't be the reason you're declined.

      • Did you get all the sign up points doing this?

        • +1

Yep, got the points for each offer as advertised.

The only issue I had was that Suncorp were not happy to issue me a pro-rata refund for my annual fee. There are a few comments in this thread suggesting that if you asked for it, you could get it and my sister got it easily but when I cancelled I had to make a bit of a fuss and they only gave me $25 back because I had received the sign up bonus points.

I know that an annual fee refund is a sweetener that I shouldn't have expected but since they were handing it out so easily to other people that rubbed me the wrong way a little.

          • @daanish: Thanks for your replies! Appreciate the insight

      • @daanish can I check if you closed any of the NAB issued cards before applying for this?

        • Yes, I closed each card and ensured I had it in writing from each institution that the account was closed before applying for the next card. They were all churn cards so I only had each one for about 2-4 months max.

          • @daanish: Thanks for sharing you experience. How long roughly did you wait before applying for the next card?

            • @King kong: Hi, must have missed this.

It was probably only a couple of weeks between each card. Just enough for the last statement to be issued and the balance cleared.

  • Just canceled mine before hitting the first 55 days mark, tried to ask for a pro-rata refund but got declined, so paid the full annual fee $99 and got $600 worth gift cards, around $500 profit which is still a good deal :)

  • Hit the spend in first couple weeks, first statement came and said zero bonus points. But I logged into my rewards section of the Suncorp login and they were there. Transferred over to Velocity.

Assuming I am safe to cancel the card now and there is no chance they can claw points back? (just nervous as bonus points not appeared on a statement per say).

Also for reference, Sniip payment to the ATO counted towards my minimum spend on this one.

    • Once they're in your Velocity they won't claw them back.

You can ask for a pro-rata refund but it seems there's been mixed experiences with getting it. My sister and I both claimed the bonus points. She converted to gift cards and I transferred to Velocity. When she asked for a pro-rata refund she got it without any pushback. When I asked they told me that because I had claimed the bonus point offer they wouldn't give me any refund. I pushed back a bit and eventually they settled on a $25 refund. YMMV.

      • Thanks for the info. For the refund did you do this at the same time as closing the card I assume? And if so over the phone or web chat?

        • I called and cancelled over the phone. They said they would "review my eligibility" for a pro-rata refund and kind of left it there. I called them about a month later to follow up and the CSR advised that I was not eligible so I pushed back and asked for an escalation to a supervisor who eventually gave me the $25. Conversely my sister called and cancelled the card and her refund was confirmed straight away over the phone. She still had a pending balance on the card so the refund showed up on her credit card statement as a credit. She ended up paying off the balance in full so her account was in credit by the annual fee pro-rata refund so they issued her a cheque for that value. I also got a $25 cheque.

          • +1

@daanish: Cancelled the card and asked for pro rata refund. Got denied. Didn't push back on it, will try and call next week and speak with another operator and see.

  • Can anyone confirm that before statement 1 was generated, you're not able to check https://www.suncorpbankrewards.com.au/welcome.htm. I just tried it just brings me to the main page.

  • Got my 2nd statement today, pretty sure I hit the spend required but no bonus points received. Checked my online portal, no bonus points as well. Do the bonus points come in on the day the statement is issued or in the next day or so?

    • Any luck yet?

      • +1

Called up and upon checking, they confirmed that the points should have been given automatically. She had to manually request for approval which she said would take up to 5 business days. But I received the points on the same day I called in.
