    Keep em coming. 👍
There was a quiet spot for watch deals around a month ago and it felt like the ozbargain browsing experience was not complete.

    • I posted this on another thread but it disappeared into the 'insufficient quantity' megathread.

For the next couple of days, get 15% off anything at Watchdepot via Lasoo with 'afterpay' code.

I got mysef a sweet Seiko I'd been eyeing off for a while, cheapest price ever with the code.

      • get 15% off anything at Watchdepot via Lasoo with 'afterpay' code.

Does the code work without the use of Lasoo and Afterpay?

Edit: actually NVM. I had a look and there aren't any good deals even after the extra 15% off for the cheaper priced watches.

        • without the use of Lasoo

          No

          ..and Afterpay?

          Yes

          • @Astronaut Joe: Thanks 🙂. Not your fault there weren't any good deals within my budget. I just remembered the last time I checked as well it was Watchdepot that had pretty high prices on the cheapest watches to begin with, and looks like I got too excited after seeing "70% off sale" and hearing about an extra 15%.

            • @harshbdmmaster718: Yeah you have to pick your deals. The watch I was looking at was at its equal lowest price in both Watchdepot and Starbuy, so it was an easy choice for me.

Although apparently I could have signed up for an additional voucher, live and learn!

  • +2

    Thanks got green!

I honestly could not understand why it is displaying a greater-than sign in a circle at 4 o'clock.

    • Haha, took me a second

    • Time to go home :D

  • +5

Hey WN, you can't keep posting these sexc watches… I'm already broke! 😭

    • FR I went to buy cheese for my roast chicken wraps before, $9 for a packet of cheese, $6 for a 500g tub of cottage cheese. The world has gone mad! 🤯

      • +1

At this rate, a 1981 Honda Accord is a pipe dream!

  • +1

    thanks got the blue one

  • +2

Cheers WN - got the green one.

  • Get one or get lost

  • Do Eco-Drives come in 40mm?

  • +2

Got the Green. looks the goods. Thanks 😊

  • @WatchNerd do you have an association with starbuy or just an active trawler? One Citizen I'm after that's not something you have listed.

  • HNNGGG!

    • I'm STILL tossing up between the green and the black.. 😭

      • +2

Ah crap, green OOS so my choice became a lot easier..

  • +1

I finally pulled the trigger. I always like WatchNerd watch posts. I was 🤤 over the deals. This was the right price and nice watch.

    • Which colour did you grab Stooge?

      • +1

Black dial. Love the yellow detail. Classic with a twist

        • Yeesss nice! 😊 Does look real pretty.

  • +1

must resist! as per RBA, don't spend money!

  • +2

Please Stop Spending, otherwise Mr Low will increase your mortgage rate by another 0.25% next month

    • +1

They will increase it regardless. Unemployment rate dropped to 3.5%. 🔔🔔 Next 0.25% increase it's coming.

      • +1

Not so sure after this banking crisis… It's thrown a bit of a spanner in the works, even though it hasn't directly affected any Australian banks yet.

  • must resist aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • These are beautiful.

  • I like this analog style of watch.

I have a Promaster Ray Mears style watch that looks similar. I would like to buy another at a reasonable price.

Looking at the video of this watch it seems pretty chunky and thick compared to mine. Not a bad price though.

  • +1

All the green is gone have one sitting in my cart but unable to check out :(

  • +5

Faaaark missed out on the green one!!! Oh well, probably the best thing for my wallet. Welp!

    • +1

You haven't missed out. There was a glitch in the matrix but it's fixed now.

      • +1

You're evil!!!! Got one. Hahaha thanks WN

  • Green dial one is awesome

    • Green available now.

  • -1

Thanks, got a blue! Absolutely beautiful for a fantastic price… hard to beat for a Citizen

  • +1

Nice looking watch, shame I can't afford it. Bought the black one.

  • +4

Sincerest apologies! Our system automatically allocated stock to our warehouse and not to the website. We have just corrected the mistake and the Green dial is back in stock. Thank you.

    • +1

Since you're lurking in this thread, any chance the BM7550-10E originally posted to OzBargain here is making a comeback anytime soon?

      • +1

        that'd be my birthday sorted.

    • Bought the blue one when the green was out of stock. Now its available again.
You know how to cancel it and re-order the green one?

(I just create an account base on the email and mobile phone number in my order, but it says "You haven't placed any orders with us. When you do, their status will appear on this page.")

    • Hey @StarBuy, I was hoping to get my order switched colour and have already PM'd you, thanks!

  • -5

Nice looking watch, shame it’s a cheap brand

    • +1

      Are you baiting or ill-informed?

      • -2

He isn't wrong but it's good quality for the price

        • +1

Citizen have some very nice watches, though. Unfortunately, not many of their nicer watches are marketed outside of Japan.

Aesthetically, Citizen's washi dial watches rival the brand in your avatar. The AQ4020-54Z is one of the nicest watches I've ever seen.

The stuff they sell locally is more mass-appeal and doesn't interest me.

          • @O15: Ohh citizen do go pricy particularly with calibre 0100 but as a whole they are fairly cheap.. and that's great as you get a lot of watch for your money. More so than Seiko nowadays.
That watch is beautiful. Reminds me of an independent Japanese watch maker Kurono and the grand ayane
            https://kuronotokyo.com/pages/grand-akane-%E8%8C%9C
Also agree with you on the local watches.. the citizen attesa and Seiko brightz series are far more appealing than what we have here

            • +1

@maverickjohn: That is stunning. That's the kind of watch I am into, something different to what you usually see in watch circles.

              • +1

@O15: Completely get it. I got my grand Seiko on that premise. This is someone selling theirs, but they got a good angle showcasing why I bought this watch
                https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQuwRvr…

                • +1

@maverickjohn: I've not seen that one but I love it.
I'm itching to add a spring drive Grand Seiko to the collection. I'm not sure if I've seen the right one, though.
There are a couple of limited editions which I would have purchased had I known about them at the time. The SLGA007 is one and the SBGA387 is another.

                  • @O15: It's a limited edition watch sbgn009. I was very fortunate to get one.
                    Have a look at the sbgh269. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQkVpOn…
My fav which I missed was Sbgh267 the dial is one of the coolest I have ever seen https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQJOgeJ…

Also want to hear a funny story… I went looking for a watch for my daughter and went to a cheaper watch store. The seller lead me to a Lacoste watch.. (I was after the swatch flik flak as she's only 2) he compared the Lacoste movement to my grand Seiko and saying the only difference was the price… I left the store immediately.

                    • @maverickjohn: I've seen those two, they are beautiful. I really like the brown version, as well (SBGR311).

LOL. Why did they even go there? What point were they trying to make? Very odd.

  • Good looking watch for under $200. Eco drive too so no need to change batteries.

Curious to know everyone's opinion, what's a good dress watch for about $1-2k?

    • +1

Oh boy, that's quite broad. Seeing as we're already on the topic of Citizen, have a look at their silver leaf dial watches. They are stunning and come in well under $2k.
Citizen also have some incredible dials in their solar range (Chronomaster/ Washi dial). These are in the $2k-$5k range, though.

You'll have to look at international sellers for the aforementioned watches, though. For whatever reason, Citizen's really nice watches are all JDM.

      • Super helpful! What other brands do you recommend? Sorry I know, there are a lot of watches.

        • Mido and Tissot offer probably the best value, once you move beyond the $500 range.
I have a sub $1,000 Tissot with domed sapphire, ceramic bezel and an 80 hour power reserve.
And I have a sub $1,000 Mido with a COSC rated (very accurate) movement.
To be fair, both were purchased via Jomashop who are a grey market dealer so can offer lower prices. Even without Jomashop pricing, these two brands a great value, though (and well within your budget).

Seiko and Citizen are both very good however, my personal preferences have moved beyond the usual Seiko /Citizen you see in the average jewelry store. Both my Seiko and Citizen are JDM models.

There are a lot of great options in your price range with micro brands.

I'll send you a PM later with some watches from my collection and explain why I chose them, which may help guide you.

          • @O15: Wow! Thx for the insight, looking forward to your PM. I have a Tissot (about $1k) but the battery dies every 1 year and and I need to bring it to the Swatch repair shop to change it. Tedious as a yearly thing.

            • @milobob: Best look at JDM watches if you want citizen or Seiko. The Japanese variants are far superior. The problem is warranty would only be 12 months.
Other considerations for decent Swiss watches would be something like Raymond Weil or Frederique Constant. You could get a cheap oris for that price as well.
              https://www.watch-rankings.com/watch-rankings/
Anything from the entry level will be mostly around the 1-2k but they go up to thousands
Basic luxury watches predominantly start at around 1.5k but go up to 10s of thousands

            • @milobob: https://www.christopherward.com/int/watches/C65-Dune-Bronze-…
              something to consider.
Christopher ward uses a sellita movement is Cosc certified and is gaining momentum in the watch world. You would be fine it pretty hard to beat the value of a watch like this

  • Today's Stardeal - Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Dive Watches - $229.00 Delivered.

  • This has the cardinal points, does it have a compass?

    • +1

No it's just a "compass-inspired dial". Without a rotating bezel, it seems pretty pointless to me.

  • Good deal, but I like sapphire crystal glass face.

  • Do I need another watch? I probably don't but this is lovely. lol

  • +1

I've been wanting a green face watch since forever.
    Thanks OP

    • +2

Great customer service, reasonably fast shipping, watch face is a bit dark for my liking, but lovely watch.
      Thanks OP

  • +2

    Damn.

Couldnt chose between blue and the green so ended up ordering both :o

  • Got the blue. Very niiiice.

  • Until I clicked WatchNerd's useful links I did not realize "Eco-drive" was Solar. I thought it was just another name for "efficient" Quartz. Damn that adds so much to the value.

Also explains how when looking at this post on the phone, I had a hard time telling the difference between the Black, Blue, Green colours.
The colour differences are much more clear on the PC but yeah I think my phone display was too dim.

Makes sense though you can't go too "light" in colour if you want the Solar charging to work well. A lighter colour will reflect too much light and reduce solar charging power.
Also explains how the "Tiffany blue" Eco-drive that was just posted is a lot deeper in blue colour than other Tiffany blue watches I have seen online. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/763197
e.g. compared to the recent Casio release Tiffany blue analog watch https://www.casio.com/us/watches/casio/product.MTP-1302D-2A2…

    • I did not realize "Eco-drive" was Solar.

Damn bro that's ballsy to admit after all this time haha.

      • Yeah to be honest I saw you mention Eco-drive awhile ago and just made my mind up that it meant regular Quartz movement without actually checking the Citizen website.

The pricing and the name just convinced me it meant "quartz" and I just continued thinking that without actually double checking.

I guess in the same breath if you are going to call me ballsy. I might as well admit I find analog watches harder to read than digital, which most likely explains my lack of interest in analog "mechanical" watches. I always found myself mistaking the position of the minute hand and misjudging how many minutes I had until the next hour or how much time had passed. That also explains why I have stuck with digital Casio/G-shock watches 😂 the low prices don't hurt either.
I have seen a few handsome analog watches (like the one in this deal) which catch my eye, but I always come to my senses a few days later when I am "looking up different analog models on google images/youtube videos" and take a sigh of relief as I close all the open tabs and come to realization I am only interested in the "looks" and that the value is just not there for me due to preferring digital.
Yeah call me a kid I don't care lol. Something about the 100% certainty of a digital display just does it for me.
Who knows I might pick up something like this $175 Eco-drive in the future, but I can also definitely imagine how nervous I will be about wearing it because I might damage something that looks so nice 😭.

  • Eco-drive technology is amazing stuff that promotes maintenance free longevity. Just don't drop your citizen on the concrete so the face squares on a concrete floor. Almost the same as a new one for repairs, but the fondness to the daily relationship over powers any financial sensibility.

  • +2

This ends at 10am 18/03/23. Buy now think later.

  • Can anyone please confirm what is the band length for this watch?

    • @WasBargain , we dont use anything other than Express Post. Please send us your order number via an email to [email protected] and we will be able to check the tracking for you.

      • I can confirm I'm actually having strange issues with my AusPost. I've been in contact with AusPost for them to sort out on their end. Sorry @StarBuy, all is good!

  • +2

    Received green today, lovely watch

    • Can you please measure the maximum waist band size for this watch. I wore be really grateful.

      Thanks.

  • Green back on sale.
