    • +1

How exciting for you! Enjoy your purchase.

    • +1

Thanks for the Bupa pointer. Just ordered one myself instore in Hobart Central. Delivery and mounting next Tuesday :)

      • Love it. Yep the extra 5% is handy!

  • +4

Have this TV and love it, this is a bonkers deal!

    • +1

Tell that to my partner that is prioritising other parts of the house build. I'm dying inside. 😂

      • +7

build it right because you're gonna have to live with that a looong time. you can purchase a TV almost anytime.

        • +1

We already have an X9500G so not completely dead inside haha.
Yeah house build is more of a priority and getting some decent turf out the back and front. 👍👍

  • Dang HODL or pull trigger now??

    • +1

I’ve been waiting for the new Samsung S95c but….this is tempting….oh so tempting….

    • +2

HODL until the G5 comes out then this will be free.

      • HODL. It’s only the first batch of deals. More will come

  • +1

Paid almost $500 more than this and would pay it again. Amazing TV at this price it’s a no brainer for anyone wanting OLED

  • Damn my house is not ready yet
Wonder how long the wall mounting is valid for ?

    • +1

      Offer ends 5th April!

    • With JB you can choose your delivery date, you might be able to push it out by a week or two. When’s the house ready?

  • Could anyone chime in and let me know if this is a worthy upgrade from a 65” B8? Mine’s still going strong but seeing all these new OLED posts is burning a hole in my pocket.

    • Worthy upgrade

      • 100% worthy upgrade.

    • Yeah, I have a C8 and want to upgrade at some stage for HDMI 2.1 and all that it brings. I'll need a new HDMI 2.1 AVR as well, which is a pain, plus I need to do something with the C8. Too lazy!

      • Wow, you already have a C8?? I thought LG is only up to C3 this year.

        • +1

lol yeah, what are they going to do with the numbering in a couple years, was the first LG OLED the C6 in 2016?

      • Yeah exactly. Thing is, I reckon I could stick it out for another year. My B8 looks amazing and I’m certain your C8 does as well.

      • Don't need a 2.1 AVR straight away, I have my ps5 connected directly to TV and 2.0 AVR connected to the ARC port on the TV

    • +1

If you want hdmi 2.1 then yes. Otherwise not a big enough upgrade IMO

  • +1

That’s an amazing price, I have the 55 and 77 inch G2s are they are absolutely brilliant.

  • +4

I'm an audio visual installer. I do a lot of TV wall mounting. I have a 77 G1 myself

Know that this free install will be the absolute basic, quickest job they can do. We often have jobs fixing JB and Harvey Norman installations

Likely they won't even have it sitting flush to the wall. Which is the main purpose of this tv

    • +2

ah so no different to the guy that did my tv. the company sent 1 person to do a 70". had to help him do the job i paid him to do

      • +2

I can do up to a 75 standard mount myself. But it's just the overall job the do cheap as their contracters are on a set rate. They do it in 10 minutes and get out. Leave cables hanging.

You get what you pay for and better off hiring someone who will put time and effort in. Yes it'll cost more. But spending that much on a tv, it should look good. And be 2mm off the wall in this case

        • +1

You think it's best to have the power point recessed for the G2?

          • +1

            @ph81: almost a must.

          • +1

            @ph81: Absolutely
We even leave the face plate off the recess box because even that can affect how a G series or Samsung Frame will sit

        • +1

paid $300 for the one guy. didn't do a great job

        • If you think wall mounting a 75” on your own is a good idea, I wouldn’t be criticising other A/V installers 😂

    • If it is flush would that mean it would be difficult to plug in HDMI and cables after the install?

      • The bracket hinges out easily after installation.

  • +1

Question is will the 77" get some proper discounting

    • yeah waiting for the same

    • $5600 is cheapest I think it's been directly advertised at…. but couldve got a bit cheaper with recent soundbar combo deal if you sold off the soundbar.

    • G1 77 was 5400-5600 in may 2022
Dropped to 4900 in june/July when they were just about impossible to actually source

  • +2

Wall Mount Installation (When Purchased in-Store)
Frankly I'd rather they installed in my home.

  • TV comes with wall mount normally, so what does “installation does not include supply of wall bracket” mean?

    • G series has wall mount included. It's only made to wall mount. Doesn't have stand to be desktop

      • Yes i know the wall mount is included normally, but these conditions contradict that and say that it is not included.

        Which conditions take precedence?

        • It's inside the box. They'd have to open it and remove it. It's not an additional box they don't include

  • +7

ordered online, they can keep their install. I know i'll do a better and cleaner job anyway.

Annoyed I missed the C2 deal that got cancelled yesterday but hopefully this is 'worthy' of the extra ~$400

  • Paid $5k or so a few years back and been a solid TV. The software gets clunky and slow over time so had to buy a shield TV

  • +4

Dont let these JBhifi muppet contractors anywhere near your house. I went through 2 of them and they both screwed it up. TV not flush against wall, and crooked. Lock in brackets were not installed properly and they fell out after they left. Got a refund, but all the holes were not repaired.

  • +2

But now ask permission later haha

    • +1

Buy now ask forgiveness later - fixed that. I’m tempted to commit same sin now

  • -1

I've read the G2 can only be wall mounted anyway so it's a bit of condition of sale in my opinion. Installion should be free of charge regardless.

    • You can buy a desktop stand, I think I saw them on Amazon in the LG Store when I was looking for Earbuds. Can't remember how much though

    • You can buy an optional stand for it as an extra

  • What does free wall mount installation mean?

Is it you buy the bracket and wall mount but the labour is free?

    • The tv comes with a slim fit wall mount. So means the labor to install is free

      • so someone comes in and does a bad job in installing it for you?

  • +1

Amazing deal, thank you for posting!

    FYI Rtings recently posted a "4 Month Update! QD-OLED Burn-in & 4 Failures From 100 TV Test"

LG's OLED current rates very favorably over competitor models and I recommend a look into their results prior to purchase:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=my1lyUE7WVM&ab_channel=RTING…

  • I thought the C2/G2 had a higher RRP than C1/G1? If so, why are the prices lower than the 1 series then? Awesome for those in the market for a new oled.

  • G2 has ATSC 3 Tuner?

  • I like the fact materialistic items are decreasing in value while everything else is going up, 3 years ago it was opposite day where the same could be said.

  • Great TV, not a fan of the default OS though. If you plug in your soundbar via eARC and get a google tv, you only have two more HDMI slots. I rotate between PS, Switch and a laptop so the only thing that I would have liked is more HDMI inputs

    • +1

Why not plug things into the soundbar to do passthrough?

  • How do these go in a bright room now?
My lounge has a skylight, so can get pretty bright in the middle of the day.

Was hoping the new G series may be able to cope.

  • Will re-use my existing decades old vesa mount on which my 55 inch Pana plasma currently housed.

  • If I'm not able to wall mount immediately, is this still able to be propped up somewhat?

    • No it needs a stand which you have to buy separately

  • Purchased it just now.
    Delivering Monday and installing Tuesday.

FWIW: staff said you can buy now and deliver is as soon as they / you agree… but installation can occur at anytime beyond delivery date.
I take that for those needing to hold off for their installation (reno's / moving / etc) this would work for you.

  • Looks like JB have stopped selling the 55" CS altogether

  • Cant wait till this is hanging on my wall!

    • Just got home from JB too. I was pretty sold when I saw it in person. Keen!

  • Anyone know if it has a standard power plug or a thinner one that can be passed through conduit ?

    • This is my sticking point too - the power cable cannot be unplugged from TV to pass through conduit. I read about 500 web pages yesterday and nobody mentioned a slimline plug.

The only solutions involved cutting off and re-attaching plug (safety and/or warranty issues) or disconnecting where it attaches by removing plastic panel and undoing the wiring etc.

Official “how to wall mount” documentation assumes all cables will exit bottom of TV and be fitted in a plastic channel stuck on the wall.

      • Ok. The set up I have at the moment with my B7 is with adapters which works fine getting power through the conduit but I obviously can't flush mount because of the thickness of the power adapters.

I think I'll just wait and get a C3 becuse I'd rather have no visible cables than a flush mount.

  • I was keen to jump on this deal however my viewing distance is 4m so i think it's a tad too small.

  • +1

I said this in the other thread but I’ll say it again: I wouldn’t buy this. Google ‘LG G2 coil whine’. Mine suffers terribly with it, but apparently all the sets of this model does to some extent, so I haven’t sent it back. Read a story of a guy who went through 3 different G2’s with all the same issue.

  • Just ordered via phone from HarvyNorman, deliver and install by the same (Tech) person on Wednesday for $2795.

  • Will wait til financial year sale it will come down few hundred more

  • Perfect price

  • Price is gone up?

  • I was about to buy. I thought I had a few more days to buy :(

    • +1

The price ended yesterday, the free delivery and installation is till the 5th of April. I would not be too concerned, I too deliberated but held off hoping for a better price.

  • +1

Managed to nab this deal in-store first thing yesterday morning - last one left in stock in Eastern Melb (Prahran). TV was delivered and installed at lunchtime today! They did a great job, the TV looks amazing on the wall, and I’m blown away by the picture quality (massive step up from my 13 year old 40 inch Sony LCD!).
I’m super impressed by how closely it hugs the wall!
