The discounted 4090 is more expensive than the total worth of my PC including a 3060ti card

    • We get the point but this is also way more fps more than twice in this case. But yeah it is fking op= over priced

Do they do kidney trade ins? Asking for a friend.

  • HODL! waiting for RTX 6090 nice?

    • You need atleast one kidney to survive. 6090 will cost you both.

        He'll die happy.

Radeon missed out their chance to call their top spec 6000 series cards the 6969xxx

  • +1

What was the RRP for this thing again?

    • +4

      $2959

    • Too much…

  • Why would they cover that fan…

    • Exactly what I thought when I saw it… Like, that's purely form over function, surely…

      • Wont make much difference. Its a low airflow high pressure fan. If you keep your hands next to the heatsink, you will barely feel the airflow.

  • Cool, I'll take 1……….. when the RTX 7090 is released.

    • 7090? 2 Kidneys and an eye. Or 1 Kidney and both eyes. The choice is tough!

  • I wonder why the CPI is so high, look at these GPUs, the price increase in last few years is insane.

  • Can anyone recommend a PSU for this + 5800X3D?

    • +3

      I have 4090 gaming oc + 5950x with Corsair rm850x , it’s fine

      • Good to know 850 is sufficient. Thanks

    • I used MSI MEG A1300iP

      • +1

        that sounds expensive my friend

        • Just want to upgrade my aging Corsair AX860i, I got it during the Amex Umart $50 cashback with $300 spend, so its not so bad.

Really need to save those extra 100 on psu when you can afford the 4090 huh?

    • Don't go with 5800x3d in mind. Have some buffer.

      • I don't yet have the 5800X3D, but I am currently on AM4 platform. Would something else suit better?

        • I meant for power budget. If you feel that you will always be buying high end or power hungry GPUs now and in future, invest in a good 1kw model. We don't know how power hungry future MCM based GPUs and CPUs will be.

        • If you are still on AM4, I would say 5800X3D is still very appealing, since you can just use existing hardware, but for future proofing, then can consider AM5. To be honest, I got 5800X3D and it performed way better than my Intel 12700KF!

          • @cloudie9: I upgraded from 3700X to 5600 and Curve optimised it to run at 4.65G and I can feel my system almost being 15 to 20% more snappier. Boots faster as well.

            • @John Doh: I've upgraded from 3900x to 5800x3d, I was very doubtful at first and man, this CPU does magic when it comes to massive gaming improvements.

              • @cloudie9: No doubts on that CPU. Wish 7800x3d was am4 as well ;)

If you were already prepared to drop this kinda dough on a GPU, I just can't for the life of me understand why a person would settle for PNY or Inno3D to save ~200 bucks.

    • +4

Aren’t all 4090s overspeced anyways? Even the cheaper models have overkill cooling.

    • +3

Cos I'm still a penny pincher at heart? I have a self imposed budget for these kids of things, an extra $200 is a PSU.

    • +2

probably because you've never owned a PNY GPU

nothing wrong with PNY, it's an American brand

      • +3

Precisely, nothing wrong with PNY. Cool and quiet card at (relatively) good price, if you don't intent to overclock or solder it, then it's a great choice.

  • I'm waiting for someone to proudly boast they (2.5-3k) bought a 4090 in this thread. Oh wait… lol

    • Always one :)

    • I haven't bought one.

    • Thanks op bought 10 for my dogecoin mining farm

  • +1

Yes, it's overpriced but a 4090 would easily last for 6+ years (I'm still running 1070ti for most games) and at that time I doubt you would really care

    • id rather get next gen and buy cheaper and more power efficient - something like a 3090 vs 4070 ti
this big block is just ugly as, give me a slim version next gen - I can wait

      • You are working on the assumption that next gen will be smaller & cheaper. I hope you are right, but based on the trend I'm not as optimistic as you. The 3090 or 4070ti might require replacement in 4 years to get decent fps in newer titles where as 4090 would probably last as I said 6-7 years which would allow you to skip few extra generations, probably saving you money in long term.

        • yeah we all thought so when 3080 3090 was dropped, now look at it.

  • I guess its price will not see decent drop (around $2000) until 4090Ti gets released

    • that's absolutely correct. they need to keep 4090 at this high price point for nvidia to sell all the remaining 30 series and 4070/80

      • I think AMD is another blame here. They are not competing for 4090 so being unrivaled gives nVidia no reason to drop the price

        • well its not their fault they cant match 4090 - they are still few steps behind nvidia but with what they have they are doing ok
and if they leap ahead they will do what they did with intels, jack their prices up higher
whoever is at the top charges top $$

  • Deal updated to better OC XLR8 card, XLR8 Uprising still available

    • What's better about it?
